The location was very good, so I was able to go anywhere comfortably. There was a bus stop right in front, and there are many restaurants and marts nearby, so it would be really nice to have a ramen port.

The front desk is manned. The handwritten registration information is older school, but the service is good. They can help keep the keys. The windows are not very big and transparent. The mattresses are more family-like. It doesn’t feel like a hotel

This hotel booked our room for the wrong night, and then refused to give us the refund. They then laughed when I explained the legal implications of doing so - telling us they couldn't and wouldn't refund us. I asked to speak to the manager (who is coincidentally never available or on site) and was laughed at again. They wasted my time, my money and ultimately my experience of Glasgow on petty cash (£50) and cheap laughs (in a language I couldn't understand). Was made to feel wildly uncomfortable, and they did not appear even slightly interested in our customer experience. Use this hotel at your peril - the Eurohostel is a better shout. There are a million better budget hotels in Glasgow - do not use this one!

We stayed her costed £130 for one night the place was really dirty it was smiling off urine had to keep windows open there was what looked like poo over the walls the staff was terrible came home I’ll
Response from Property: Dear guest, You booked a double room and we gave you a family room which is for 3 persons because it was a more spacious room. All our rooms and bedding are cleaned and changed daily. Our rooms undergo maintenance on a regular basis and beds are inspected and replaced when required. Your review is full of exaggerations unfortunately. There is no such things as you have mentioned. No hotel would let out rooms that are not clean. This review and the other one on another platform is full of bitterness and spite just because you paid a higher price than you wanted to. Your main problem is the high price you paid on Friday when Ed Sheeran concert was in Glasgow. Your feedback will be looked at and acted upon but this review is simply your way of giving revenge out because you feel you paid a high price despite all prices being high in the city when you booked. You have also written a negative review on another platform further emphasising your mindset and it is very dissappointing. Surely you have better things to do on a Saturday night than spread hatred and lies. Kind regards

The carpet was dirty heading up to the room, the smell of smoke in the corridor, so people are smoking in their rooms (the fire alarm system clearly not working), damp smell in the bedroom, bait box for mice by the window, condensation and mould around the window, white stains on the bed sheets, mould on the ceiling above the shower, hairs on the toilet pan, dust on the tv, random dirty chair and carpets . . . the list could go on. After complaining to them and ***********, they refuse to refund, despite all these unacceptable conditions. Then the hotel records you as a 'no show'. It's a bit silly of them to do so, considering the alarming number of CCTV cameras inside the property.

It's so interesting to read how many people have also experienced an awful stay at this hotel, it's a surprise people still stay there. I had the worst experience I've ever had in a Glasgow hotel, and I stay weekly in different venues for work each week. I will never stay in this hotel again mainly because of how rude and ignorant the receptionist was. You are not allowed to raise a complaint about this hotel, otherwise they just decide to cancel your booking and tell you to leave the hotel!! I booked for 2 nights when there was a big Glasgow football game on, so they inflated the prices for the 2 nights, but the room I was given is normally about £35/40 and with a separate bathroom, and a shower upstairs, I wouldn't have normally booked this. When I paid £65 for both nights, I presumed it would be fine. I have paid less than this in other hotels and never had such a horrific room. The kettle 'blew up' twice, the element was charred and ancient and caused smoke in my room, so you would think you could open the window to rectify this - no, it was jammed shut. The room was no bigger than a prison cell, and felt like one, as there were stains on the walls and the sink kept blocking. I struggled to sleep due to the smoke which triggered my asthma, and overall I had the worst night. I couldn't speak to any manager the next day, so I checked out and phoned that morning to complain and seek an alternative room. Upon arrival after work, I was happy to accept the alternative room without seeing it as anything was better than the tiny single space the night before! However, as soon as I said I wanted to discuss how bad the room was the previous night, and the fact that the price paid was not acceptable, the receptionist suddenly started to verbally argue with me, and basically told me to leave the hotel. I was therefore a single female, with no accommodation, having paid for 2 nights, and told to go leave with no care for my welfare. I was due to attend an event that night, and the stress of this was terrible. I complained to *********** but basically had to find alternative accommodation at 6pm on a Thursday night in Glasgow. I have no doubt, that as with every bad review on here, the hotel management immediately blame the guests and try to claim that we are at fault, which is very disappointing. Perhaps if they took the care the think about basic customer service skills, they wouldn't have so many negative reviews. If you don't complain, they seem to leave you alone. Avoid at all costs.

Have stayed in hundreds of hotels. Friendliest Staff were here. Such nice, kind, genuine people. I owe them a lot. Good access for city. I thought the room was fine. I hold quite a lot of affection for this place as the staff were like family to me at a hard time in my life. I miss the breakfasts. They were great.

after arriving in glasgow and my hotel no longer able to accommodate me and my partner, i found this hotel on ***********. although i read bad reviews I still decided to give it a go. I rang the hotel and explained what had happened and asked if they could accommodate us and if i could pay by cash on arrival. they were so understanding and put us up straight away, when arriving the man on reception checked us in he was very welcoming, gave us a parking permit, explained how taxis worked and give us the information we required. the room was bog standard, double room and private bathroom with a fan (all you need for a nights stay), would stay again, location was spot on and service was brill.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in had to request to change room at 11:30 after getting back from gig as window wouldn’t shut and bathroom fan wouldn’t go off no chance of sleeping with the noise eventually got another room on approaching new room the stench of ******** was horrendous both rooms filthy with dust the replacement room toilet seat was hanging off shower head held up with blue rope and the net curtains which I assume were white originally were yellow absolutely disgusting avoid at all costs safe to say I will never be back
Response from Property: Dear Guest, We appreciate your feedback and will use this to further improve our services. The toilet fan noise was very simple to turn off as was opening the window but our nightporter at the time was fairly new so instead moved you to another room. Both these issues were fixed within moments the next day. There is no smoking allowed in our hotel and fire alarm system is in place if anyone breaks our house rules. The room you were moved to was a clean room and any minor issues have been checked and fixed. Kind regards

My 4 friends and I stayed at Smiths for a couple of nights and experienced fantastic service in particular from Muhammad on reception, who couldn’t have been any more helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and would visit again.
