The Georgian House

I booked this hotel via AA Advantage hotels for my nephew, when he arrived the hotel was fully booked, and they attempted to move him to another area which didn't suit, they claimed they sent an email which we never received and thy couldn't provide proof it was sent. We attempted to get a refund via AA but when they contacted the hotel they were told my nephew used all the amenities and stayed there which is all lies. AA didn't have the balls to pursue this so i lost 87000 AA miles for the booking. these people take money under false pretenses, and no one should be tempted to book with a bunch of crooks. Be very aware.

It’s a place to lay your head for the night. Nothing more, nothing less. Parking is awkward from a back street. Owner is pleasant but it is what it is. A bed for the night.

We were told we had the 'Best room in the place', I'd hate to see the worst! The hotel contains a lot of period features, which included the mattresses, probably been around since Georgian period. Yes we had tea making facility, which was a kettle that you had to plug in in the only electric socket on the skirting board on the other side of the room. TV was pretty non existent as could only get BBC. The only staff we saw was on the night of arrival and a cleaner who seemed friendly enough. It was like the Marie Celeste otherwise. There was continual noise from the room next door with doors banging continually through the night. There were large wooden shutters on the bathroom window which we closed for privacy, only to reveal paint peeling behind them. No somewhere to be recommended.
