Stayed on a Saturday night to attend a concert at the Hydro. Excellent location. Some free parking spaces right outside, we managed to get one so very pleased. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Hotel bright and spacious. Our room, although basic was a good size, clean & had everything we required for our needs. The ensuite looked brand new! We were up a few flights of stairs, which was fine for us, but if you have mobility issues ask for a ground floor room. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit the Hydro.

Had a lovely stay at the sandyford lodge hotel. Room was spotless clean. Guys at reception were very friendly and helpful. Hotel only 10 mins from hydro where we were going. Great value. Would definitely stay again.

Little gem in the west end of Glasgow. Newly renovated: quiet rooms:staff are very friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood has some lovely restaurants( v international) I recommend The Finnieston Bar & Restaurant ( seafood). Walking distance to the SEC. I’d say its 3star because there is no lift(elevator) and no restaurant. They have an arrangement for breakfast at a nearby hotel. Altogether a lovely stay! Would definitely go back!

Clean, comfy and perfect location. Friendly and enthusiastic welcome. Wonderful shower and recently painted room. Top floor room so very quiet. My only request would be mugs in the rooms rather than tiny cups and saucers. Great we were able to leave our cases in reception after checking out.

We had a great long weekend stay. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Good size room with powerful shower. Staff very accommodating and bags were looked after in reception before and after booking in. Breakfast delicious for £10 each more across the road at sandiford hotel. Have booked again for April for a family wedding. Thank you all at Sandyford lodge.

I never ended up staying here, but I had an extremely poor experience with this hotel regardless. My aunt sadly passed away unexpectedly, with her funeral being held the night I was meant to be staying at this hotel - I emailed asking if I could be refunded in this instance, despite booking a non-refundable room. They emailed back to say no - this would have been completely fine and understandable, however unfortunately the following poor experience happened. I then called the hotel to see if I could upgrade my booking (originally a single room) to a double room (again, I was more than happy to pay), so that some friends could attend instead. The gentleman that answered my call first of all told me that my room would be refunded, which I was extremely grateful for. It then turned out that he was looking at the wrong booking - he then found another booking and told me I was booked to stay on the 11th of July. Once again this was the wrong booking. When he finally found my booking for July 4th, he asked what I was looking to do - I had already said this at the beginning of the phone call. When repeating that I wanted to upgrade my room, I was told that he would be unable to do this over the phone and I would need to email to process this. Okay, fine. I emailed. 3 days went by and I received no reply. I called the same number back to check the progress of this email and was then told that I could in fact upgrade over the phone - however in the time that had passed, there were now no double rooms left to upgrade to. At this point I was slightly fed up, but was still not going to post a review. I said I would call back if I could find someone who wanted to take the single room. The cherry on top was then being called by the staff at 5:30 pm (note - check in does not close until 11pm) whilst I was at the funeral wake to be asked if I was still coming. When I said that I was, as I had consistently said, at a literal funeral and I could not find anyone else who wanted to stay in a single room, they replied 'yes but are you coming'. I genuinely hope I caught the staff on a bad day and I really want to believe that they are normally better than this, and I'm sure they are based on the other reviews here, but my personal experience was definitely negative. I would have put this in an email first, but them failing to reply to one where I would have spent more money on the hotel makes me very doubtful that they would have replied to this.

Stayed for one night, can't comment on any other rooms as never seen anyone else to speak to but we were in a basement room and walking in your eyes are immediately drawn to damp on the wall, further inspection showed windows that hadn't been cleaned for months. The view out of the window is basically a jungle that could be made into a really nice outside space. The bathroom was clean, toilet seat was a bit loose though. Waking up in the morning my other half discovered there had been a leak which we think was possibly the radiator but it had soaked his clothes and the carpet, we reported this to the guy on reception when we went to sort breakfast which I thought I'd already booked but apparently hadn't. Didn't realise you actually had to go to another premises for breakfast which seemed a bit odd. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the owner is a lovely guy and it's a shame that the hotel is obviously in need of a lot of TLC as it's a lovely building but definitely needs some money spent on it.
