We were a party of 5 staying here to prepare for a trip into the Hebrides for a night, and found that during a walk, their wonderful scenery and nature trails were refreshing and beautifully conserved. The customer service was also wonderful. The cottages were clean and we had everything we needed. Don’t even get me started on their sofas and blankets. Took a nap there by accident and was almost late for a family reunion!

Two night stay. Cottage and location to die for - middle if nowhere kind of peaceful. 3 stars for the cottage. HOWEVER - they're good at taking your money but not so hot reimbursing the 'Good Housekeeping' deposit. In fact, only the threat of card issuer dispute and legal action prompted them to stop ignoring us! 0 stars for the Owners! In a competitive market, little things leave a sour taste. There are many accommodations in the area who'd be more deserving of your patronage. We can excuse an off day, but to wilfully ignore a customer, over a prolonged period, is just inexcusable. Anyway - didn't spoil our holiday one bit.

After a bit of uncertainty about the hot-tub due to *********** not being clear that Rowan Cottage has no tub, Marcin came to our door and found an amicable solution which we were happy with. Lovely location and very quiet. Far away from any main roads so no traffic noise. Good location right on the doorstep to the Highlands with lots to do just a short drive away. Clean and comfortable. Hot-tubs are log fired so need to be started 2.5hrs before you want to jump in and top up with wood every 30mins once started to heat the water sufficiently. Once hit then no more wood required. Then the smoke can be bothersome depending on wind direction. If you don't mind that then enjoy. First time we had to ***** the bed and bag all laundry before departure. At the price we would have assumed this was a gratuity having stayed at many other similar places through the years.

So - you want a brilliant escape? Far from the crowds and tourists BUT you still want to be close enough for good spots, walks, restaurants, and scenery???? Then this is the spot, beautiful countryside. A real escape. Quiet and free. We simply loved it. The cottages are finished to a high level and have everything you need. The beds were so comfortable. The courtyard is clean and fresh and inviting. Martin received us with warmth and a sincere invitation to speak to him about our every need. Our dog loved the freedom and wide open spaces. It would be suitable for couples or families or small private groups of friends in the different rooms. The lounge with mini soccer, billiards, and table tennis just add to the "everything you need" offer. The hot tubs looked brilliant and well-arranged but we did not get the chance to use them - next time - as there certainly will be a next time.

The place looks like an old farm complex, located off the road to drymen and Loch Lomond, that was redesigned into rental family units. It looks great, stylishly designed and fully equipped with anything you need to cook your meals, bbq, or just hang out. Smart tvs, and ok wifi allow for communication, entertainment and work if needed, easily. The place is well maintained and felt brand new, which is always fun. It is about 15 to 20 minute drive from the lake shore, and is quite isolated (you will have to drive a bit for groceries, restaurants and so on) but it is so nice and quiet that I think it is worth it. My only quibble was that the place requires you to take off linens, towels etc upon check out. For an upper scale experience I would have expected someone else to do it for me.
