My wife and I were disappointed at our accommodation booked for 16/19 November 2023 at Glasgow Apartments' Flat 12/4, 101 Maxwell Street, Glasgow. Our comments on our stay were emailed direct to the company on 20 November and they were offered the opportunity to investigate and, where necessary, put things right and then respond, before I posted any review. Despite three subsequent phone conversations with a director of the company, we have not had a satisfactory answer. On our arrival there was no welcome pack despite one being advertised on their web site, so there was no milk, no sachets of tea or coffee, no scourer or sponge for washing up and derisory quantities of washing up liquid, dish washer tablets and no washing machine detergent. We have no complaints about the bedding and linen which were good, and toiletries in the bathrooms were welcome. As regards maintenance: in one bathroom the shower head holster was unstable and the head had to be hand held, and in the other the shower head had initially to be back-flushed and cleaned out by me, while the toilet seat was not firmly attached to the pedestal. Many items were lacking from what should be standard inventory e.g. no tea pot, no egg cups, no corkscrew, no ice tray, no tea towels, pots of cheap manufacture with handles which overheated when in use (and no oven gloves). Housekeeping in the kitchen area was bad: work surfaces were greasy, many chopping boards, plates, cutlery and pots had food residue and had to be washed by us, the guests, before use and after we had purchased cleaning materials. This flat has high potential but is falling short through proprietors' apparent lack of awareness of maintenance needs, inventory shortages and closer housekeeping supervision.
