Reviews of Super 8 by Wyndham Golden

Not as described or pictured on this listing unfortunately. Some for the better as they (I assume new owners) have redone the decor in rooms, however there is no breakfast as advertised or hot tub. When asking about the breakfast they simply said they didn’t have it and acted as though it wasn’t their problem.

We recently stayed at this property and were hopeful that it would be as cute as the last time we stayed there. We were surprised when we drove up that it looked like it was closed and we thought we had been scammed. The Motel 8 sign had nothing on it (blank) and when driving up all the blinds were closed. We could barely make out the “open” sign. The property was poorly maintained, and the common areas were sadly ignored with cobwebs on the stairs, parking lot overgrown with weeds and garbage in the green spaces. We were in a room on the second level and it was just adequate. It had new carpet, the sheets were clean, the bathroom, although small was fine. The pillows on the bed are too small for a queen bed. The microwave was clean, the fridge was clean although it needed to be defrosted as we could only use one side. There is no ice machine at this hotel so we paid $5 at the liquor store next door. Showers are okay except the shower head is scaled up so it sprays everywhere. The TV was great and it was quiet at night except for the air conditioner that seemed to work on 2 speeds low and loud high. Last time we stayed there for the same price, they offered breakfast which is not available now. Check in was alright however the young lady was lacking in customer service skills and mumbled a lot and we repeatedly had to ask her to repeat herself. Didn’t seem excited or happy to have our business. Would we return? No, not in the near future.

The walls were blotchy with different colors of paint due to apparent repair jobs on the walls. There was also a huge gash in the wall from a chair being scraped against the wall. The toilet was leaking and constantly running. There was also no kleenex in the dispenser. Worst of all they provided no free light breakfast as advertised. Other than that the unit was clean and quiet, perhaps because only a handful of people were staying at the hotel in prime tourist season. This place was worse than a motel 6.

Disgusting do not visit here. Everything was dirty washroom slime build up in the shower. It has never been cleaned properly. The sheets, were yellow stained and so were the towels. The floor was sticky. The door frame was cracked and had obviously been kicked in and the walls were very dinged up and grimey.

Price is cheap but that's the only benefit. Pay a bit more and stay somewhere nicer. The place is in total need of a makeover. Rooms are very tired, lots of items are in need of repair. No breakfast offered. Aside from the price, the only other benefit is lots of free parking.

Rooms are good and clean / basic super 8 package / the hotel is on the strip and is a little way from downtown / 10 mins max / some food options close by all fast food / the gym is brilliant for a super 8 kinda hard to imagine / parking is a little tight out front but further out is a larger parking lot suitable for RV's . Has a pool. Overall not a bad deal for Golden ..... prices change dramatically in summer to a point of gouging from the tourist . Tis the season ....

Our booking included 'a light breakfast' for 3 days however there was no breakfast & I encountered a very unhelpful response. When I complained to Wyndham, I was offered 'points'. What a joke, I'm from another part of the world & don't want to stay in a Wyndham again. I just want the equivalent of the 3 light breakfasts for 2 people that I paid for, refunded.

Provided wrong information while reservation of breakfast included, this place don’t have breakfast service. Bad odour in parking lot and too many bugs, not recommend.

When we first pulled in it looked like an abandoned building. Check-in was great and the front desk person was very friendly. The rooms looked rundown and can do with some sprucing up. Unfortunately, there was no breakfast which we normally get at other Supper 8.

Absolute disgusting. The hotel is nothing like advertised. It is a flea bag motel at best. What a let down. I have no clue what they are doing, but I stayed in better places in 3rd world African countries. The fact that Tripadvisor has this hotel on their list makes me wonder what Tripadvisor is there for. The room was frozen upon arrival. Mildew on bath tiles. Piles of trash on the side of building. The staff was very helpful but that doesn’t make up for freezing room and uncleanliness of the tub. You should pay your staff more so they feel valued and care about certain parts of their job like putting the sheets on inside right. You would be amazing the pride someone takes in their job when they feel valued.

Rooms dirty In need of repair No breakfast even though web site says there is Phones don't work No one will answer after hrs till office opens at 9 No extra toilet paper so we had to go purchase our own. When we confronted office we were told to call Windom

Dirty, smelly, in poor condition. Breakfast was awful Wi-Fi, unreliable, broken fridge, broken air conditioning, dirty parking lot, dirty exterior poor water pressure absolutely nothing positive about this experience.
