Bull Astoria

We stayed at the bull hotel for 3 nights for a short city break the location is fantastic 40 euros from airport and a taxi rank outside if you decide to explore further the hotel is 2 minutes from the beach and prime location for bars and restaurants. We stayed bed and breakfast which was ok orange juice good bread rolls fresh not much cereal or fruit but for a budget break we found it acceptable. The rooms are a little dated but really comfy beds we had a topper on ours I have read reviews about hard beds we didn’t have that problem good comfy pillows towels changed daily and rooms cleaned. If you want to spend time in a room rather than explore the city or expect luxury this isn’t for you. Roof terrace bar good and drinks really cheap for a hotel. For a city break this is the perfect location and if I wanted a short break I would return. Staff also all very friendly from reception to restaurants.

Hotel is located near the airport of Las Palmas about 20 minutes in the most inner area of the island. I must say gentleness of the owner who waited for me tonight because the flight and the car rental delivery have caused a little delay. small room with terrace, no lift is available. simple but good breakfast. stayed for one night
Villa Nestor

We stayed in the suite with jacuzzi, a brilliant self-contained space tastefully decorated and furnished with quality. The garden is large, with a couple of hammocks and the jacuzzi, which was very welcome after a couple of days of strenuous mountain hikes. We had fresh pomegranates from the garden every day. Arold and Alienka are perfect hosts, warm and welcoming and ever available to provide additional information and excellent local tips. Arold's breakfasts, served on a beautiful rooftop terrace, are an inventive delight and he served my wife the best gluten free pancakes she has ever had, as well as managing to give her gluten free bread that actually tasted delicious. A culinary genius. They clearly love their vocation and really enhance the holiday experience. The hotel is in a lovely peaceful location, surrounded by quaint narrow streets. (If you are thinking of hiring a car I'd recommend something small. Our hire car had multiple dents and heavy scratches). We went to four restaurants in the village, all within a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and all were very good. For fine dining, at reasonable prices, we especially loved La Vicaria. The closest restaurant, whose name escapes me, is run by a lovely, but bonkers, guy who serves local Canarian cuisine, basically whatever he fancies and has available, whilst happily chuntering away in Spanish despite being aware that we didn't speak the language. Good fun with excellent food. So, a perfect holiday in a perfect hotel in a perfect location. We hope to be able to return.
