I stayed at Bungalows Vista Oasis at the beginning of May. The price was very reasonable and worked out at roughly £45 per night (for a week long stay). The staff were very helpful and friendly upon arrival and the rooms were very well presented and immaculate. Upon arrival, you are given a breakdown of meal costs, a key to the safe in your room and a free bus pass for the shuttle running to Maspalomas. When I left the hotel on my final day, the staff offered to order me a taxi to the airport. The bungalows themselves required a bit of TLC, as the doors were very tricky to open/close, there were cracks in the walls and tiles and the mattresses were ripped. The rooms themselves were clean but I did notice that the corners of furniture were collecting dust. The complex itself was fairly quiet and there were also plenty of tables and sun beds available throughout the day. The pool was on the smaller side but didn’t pose any issues as I visited in the off-season. The resort had 3 stories of bungalows at the entrance, then had ‘streets’ of single story bungalows towards the back of the resort. The single story bungalows had balconies facing over the edge of a cliff, giving a view of the beachfront. I opted for a breakfast-board holiday, so ate brekafast at the restaurant every morning, which ran between 8-10AM. The items of a full English breakfast were served everyday, however, if you went for breakfast after 9AM, stock was very limited. The bread and pastries were stale everyday, the beans were undercooked and the eggs were always overfried. I did go for an evening meal at the restaurant one day, but the options were very limited and the bar staff were kind enough to let me pay for a portion of chips rather than pay the buffet price. Contrary to what is advertised, Wi-Fi was not available in the rooms and is only free to use in the reception area. To access Wi-Fi in your room, there was an additional charge (it worked out cheaper for me to purchase a roaming pass with my mobile phone company). The hotel ran a free bus to Maspalomas Dunes, so you could spend the day in the Town Centre or at the beach. These buses left at 10:30 and 11:30 and returned at 14:00 and 15:30, which didn’t leave much time to explore the area. The hotel was nearby two of the main bus stops, Cruce Faro was a 10 minute walk away (beside the main road at the bottom of the hill) and Cruce Sonneland was around 15 minutes away (by walking up the hill and crossing a park). These buses ran regularly and went to Las Palmas, Puerto de Morgan, Maspalomas and Puerto Rico. There was also a nearby SPAR supermarket and 5 restaurants at the top of the hill (Italian, Chinese and an American diner). I would definitely visit again! I would probably move to a self-catering holiday as the breakfast wasn’t to my taste but I don’t have any complaints about the hotel itself.
