We stayed for a week at The Leonard at Logan House in extreme comfort while visiting friends and relatives in Grand Rapids. The Leonard at Logan House was built in the early 1900's by a family which prospered producing refrigerators. The home enjoys a central location in the historic Heritage Hill neighborhood of Grand Rapids. Guests can enjoy stepping out the door of the B&B to explore the architecture of well preserved homes from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Just one block away from Leonard at Logan House is Frank Lloyd Wright's gorgeous "Meyer May House" - one of the best preserved buildings by the famous architect. While not open every day, the Meyer May House can be toured for free with a docent by reserving online in advance, and is definitely a highlight of a visit to Grand Rapids. Other reasons to visit Grand Rapids and to stay at the Logan House include the opportunity to see the Frederik Meijer Gardens and the Gerald R. Ford Museum. Travelers visiting relatives or taking a business trip also can't do better than to book a room at The Leonard at Logan House. Even the nicest hotel in town doesn't provide a unique sense of place - because you could be anywhere. However, staying at Logan House provides visitors the chance to experience a beautifully preserved and maintained mansion and all of the amenities that the home's owners provide - including access to delicious home made baked goods all day long, a refrigerator and hot drinks dispenser available all day, and snacks galore. The breakfasts are extremely generous and well prepared, and the dining area and common areas such as the living rooms are comfortable and elegant. We stayed in the former master suite which was not only quiet and spacious but had a huge bathroom with a separate bath and shower. Bed and Breakfasts are not for everyone - Logan House is, after all, someone's private residence, but if you are not a "bull in a china closet" and respectful of the owners' and other guests' needs for consideration and quiet, you simply can't beat the beautiful The Leonard at Logan House.
