    I’ve just spent an extremely pleasant week in this hotel since I was in Guadalajara on business. Every single thing about it was faultless , from the huge, really well equipped bedrooms to the excellent breakfast buffet. There was a huge array of both hot and cold food to choose from and all of it was top quality. Those with special dietary requirements were very well catered for As a business hotel I really enjoy the space the huge bedrooms offered. In my bedroom I found no less than 8 plug sockets and all in the places where they are most needed, including three by the desk and beside the bed too. The staff were impeccable but my biggest thanks to to all three of the bar staff . After very long working days returning to the bar and have the bar tender ready with your excellent glass of chilled white wine , it was doubly impressive that they knew just when I would be looking for my second glass. After a working day that ended at 10.30 pm real pleasure. Thank you.

    My stay at AC Hotel Guadalajara was very disappointing. I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and I am very loyal and familiar to the Marriott brands, including AC Hotels, and was very disturbed to find that my status was not really appreciated and recognized at this property. I booked five nights with points. First of all, I wrote to the hotel through the chat feature of the Marriott app one day prior to my arrival without receiving a response, I asked if I can get an upgrade to a suite if there is availability. Upon check-in I mentioned to the general manager about writing by chat and he claimed that they never get my message (a negative response is then sent the following day!). Nevertheless, he mentioned that they do not have suites available for that night, but he will let me know the following day or two if there will be availability. I got assigned the same room type I booked, which was a very small queen bedroom. The room was not in a good condition in terms of stains and dusty spots forgotten during the cleaning process, which is a bit concerning during the COVID-19 situation. During the check-in, I also asked the general manager if I get breakfast included (a status benefit I get at many Marriott brands), and he confirmed that I have the breakfast included. I checked the following day Marriott website to see my status benefits at AC Hotels and I found that I do not get free breakfast as a status benefit at AC properties, but I can either get 500 Bonvoy points or $10 food and beverage credit per day. The Marriott website specifies that if the hotel does not give me the choice between the two benefits, I am entitled to $50 compensation. I then talked to the front desk again to confirm whether I really have free breakfast or not, and the agent there told me that I do not get a free breakfast (I have already used their breakfast for that day) because I booked on points and that they are currently giving free breakfast with their paid reservations and he suggested that this might have been the source of the confusion. I mentioned to him about the $10 credit or 500 points, and he said he is not sure I can use this credit towards breakfast (which costs a bit more than $10) but he will ask the general manager to confirm. I also asked him about the entitlement for $50 compensation. Few hours later the general manager (who check me in the day before) called me and he was not impressed by my discussion with the front desk agent. In fact, he was a bit angry that I asked for compensation and he thought I am throwing this idea at them out of nowhere. He told me that they have been trying to make me happy and that he is making his best to move me to a suite but I am kind of creating problems, which was a bit rude. I explained to him that I appreciate his efforts to move me to a suite upon availability, but my discussion was about wrong information he gave me.     We had a lot of criteria - pet friendly, restaurant attached, free (open air) parking, three adults to a room, reasonable price, close to main routes for onward journey - and this hotel was one of the very few that met ALL the criteria. The staff were exceptionally friendly - the lady on the check-in desk remembered me having emailed my booking - this made us feel really welcome. The room was cold when we arrived but we turned the heating on and it soon warmed up. The third adult in our party had a decent sized fold-down bed (rather than the bunk type) and there was still plenty of space in the room. There was a reasonable amount of wardrobe and shelf space for three of us too. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic - the best I've ever encountered, and the complementary toiletries were a godsend as it meant we didn't have to pack loads of stuff into an overnight bag but the shower cubicle was tiny, so tiny that it wouldn't be universally accessible. The room was clean, although a little worn) but the beds were spotless and reasonably comfortable. The duvets were thin however and we really appreciated the thin blanket that was provided for each occupant. The beds could have been slightly warmer though with an extra blanket for winter or else better quality duvet. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. It was a set menu (3/4 choices for each course) but the food wasn't great. The pasta carbonara was cold and the salmon was terribly overcooked but it was only 9 euros a head. Having said that, the food was tasty and could easily have been very nice had it been cooked well. I was asked about the food at the check-in desk and the lady there said she would pass my comments on to the kitchen. I like the fact that they do take on board comments and hopefully make improvements. The breakfast was basic but adequate. Exit from the hotel is tricky (narrow and steep) so it would be difficult if one were towing something. There is sufficient parking. The hotel is on an industrial estate with nothing else close by except industrial units but fine for walking a dog and car parking if the car park is full.

    Our 2nd stay at lavante lux apartments. Only graded as 2 star but think its worth 3+. The staff are very friendly and English speaking. The pool and area are very clean. The rooms are very clean with everything that you need. I would totally recommend this place.
