Meihao Elegant Hotel (Guangzhou Pazhou Convention and Exhibition Center)

Guangdong Olympic Sports Center/International Financial City Guangzhou|1.71km from Carrefour (Yuancun Branch)
It was a great experience staying at Mehao Elegant Hotel this time, and I highly recommend staying at it. Before I checked in, the housekeeper CC called me to confirm my request for the room. He also added my WeChat and sent me the location, fearing that we were in the wrong place. I was traveling with my parents for two days, but the room only included two breakfasts. I asked to buy breakfast, and CC said that I could apply with the manager to give us two breakfasts, which saved us the trouble. The decoration of the hotel lobby is still very good. After all, it is a newly renovated hotel. The service staff are also very enthusiastic and will greet you warmly. When we checked in, the butler served us tea. It was really comfortable to be able to drink a cup of hot tea right away when we arrived at the hotel. The room had enough space and the hygiene was pretty good. The room was fully equipped and had mineral water. , drinks are all available. As soon as I entered the room, I saw the fruit plate that CC had prepared for me in the room in advance. It was really considerate and made the experience great! There are quite a lot of equipment in the room. In addition to two sets of bathrobes, there are also two sets of pajamas and a safe. The sink also has facial cleanser, skin care products, loofah, disposable compressed towels, etc., all available. I have stayed in many five-star hotels before, and this hotel is not inferior to any other hotels. Whether it is decoration, service, supporting facilities, location, or surrounding environment, it is top-notch. I forgot to mention that there is a service desk in the lobby with many items on it, such as Yunnan Baiyao, safflower oil, iodophor cotton swabs, band-aids, 999 cold medicine, etc. that can be used for injuries. Nail clippers and lighters are all normal. , but there are also very considerate dental floss, contact lens cases, contact lens solution, headbands, hairpins, hand cream, wet wipes, etc. Surprisingly, there are also raincoats, red envelopes, and baby warm patches. As the weather in Guangzhou has dropped sharply in the past few days, Nuanbaobao is really considerate. If you bring children, there are also cars to coax them. The front desk processing speed is also very fast, not like a newly opened hotel. All in all, it is highly recommended and deserves five stars! The hotel does not include meals. In addition to breakfast, there is afternoon tea and Meihao's special late-night bowl of noodles. Breakfast is just some regular meat and vegetables, a combination of Chinese and Western, including steamed buns, but breakfast ends at ten o'clock. After 11 o'clock, it's afternoon tea. Afternoon tea consists of some tea, snacks, fruits, and yogurt, candy and bread. Anyway, they are all foods that children will like. It's nice to sit in the restaurant in the afternoon and have some snacks to rest. Good choice. The noodle buffet is also available in the evening. There are some handmade noodles, rice noodles, wontons, meatballs, vegetables, etc. You can pick up whatever you want in the bowl, and then hand it over to the chef, who will help cook it. The restaurant is not big, but it still has what it needs. Although it is small, it has all the essentials. When I went downstairs to check out, a housekeeper immediately came to ask me how I felt about my stay and whether I was satisfied with my stay. Of course my answer was yes, hahaha. The weather in Guangzhou is really cold, so the housekeeper immediately served us hot tea to warm our hands. Then they gave us small gifts, including masks, tissues, and hand warmers, which can be used on the road. The hotel has done a good job in these details and the service is in place. I will still choose this hotel next time I come to Guangzhou

Shangri-La Guangzhou

Pazhou International Exhibition Center Area and Canton Tower and Kecun Area Guangzhou|2.6km from Carrefour (Yuancun Branch)
Great hotel with great amenities, great checkin; however our experience thereafter deteriorated. Once our checkin was completed, we were shown to our room, however our luggage didn’t find its way up. Calling the operator resulted in little to nothing. Calling the reception wasn’t much better either as we were told to wait at least 15-20 mins, despite our already 20 min wait time. Thus I ended going down to grab our luggage myself. The next surprise were the number of towels in the room. We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids, however had only 2 full towels. Again calling the operator resulted in little to nothing, likely also to language difficulties. We have since asked 2 staff members for more towels, without any success. Our solution was to grab 2 additional towels from the pool. We only stayed one night, so no biggie. However later the night, our daughter was freezing due to her developing a fever. Thus we called the operator one more time to ask for another blanket; again due to language difficulties we went down to the reception and asked for one more blanket, just in case. We were told ‘no problem’ and housekeeping would bring one. It never came. Having spent the night with a sick kid, we went for breakfast at 9’ish. Though the hotel put up a sign to inform how likely busy the breakfast will be at certain times, we were still surprised to be encounter a waiting line ranging from the elevator to the breakfast room. I have never seen anything the like in similar properties, however one can see why the hotel enforced rather strict entry control measures. The line was handled swiftly, however caused a waiting time to be seated of around 10-15 mins. Breakfast was great, with heaps of choice of both western and Chinese dishes. However the slight chaos caused by guests notably affected staff, which made it sometimes feel more like a train-station cafe, rather than a 5* property breakfast. Upon leaving, we had however the probably best service-moment of our stay. A concierge called Alvin helped us to sort our Didi-issue to travel to Shenzhen and made us truly feel comfortable, despite dealing with an odd Didi driver and a sick kid. Alvin displayed everything you expect in a 5* property and some more! Thus we left exhausted (not the hotel’s fault), but with a smile.

Zhujiang New Town/Guangdong Museum Guangzhou|0.32km from Carrefour (Yuancun Branch)
The environment of the new hotel is not bad, and there is free parking. The room I stayed in is just a triangular shape in the corner. Although it looks small, it has everything it needs. It has a big TV and a tea bag and teapot🫖. The souchong tea bag is very good. It tastes good. The mirror is very big. The bathroom and toilet are separated. The water pressure in the bathroom is also high. It is very comfortable to take a bath. The toilet is a smart toilet. It is very convenient for girls. Boys may have to flush manually and then turn off the lights. When I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, there are automatic sensor lights under the bed and in the bathroom, which is very nice. Then there is a robot delivering the takeout. If you order too much, the little brother will deliver it hahaha. The door is also smart. It will make a sound if it is not closed. There is also a manual hidden lock. The only drawback is that it is soundproofed. If someone outside does not close the door, you will hear it. If there is a car honking outside, you will hear it. Another thing is that there are not enough trash cans. There is one in the toilet and living room. There should be a small trash can next to the wash basin, so that it is convenient to throw away the trash when washing your face and brushing your teeth. However, I think it is better compared to nearby hotels. After comparing everything about hygiene, walls, etc., I chose this hotel. I am very happy and satisfied. I will stay here again next time I come to Guangzhou~

It was quiet and cozy in the room. There were all the conveniences inside and the stuff was very helpful and polite. A good combination of the price and quality.

A pertinent comment: The building is very close, and you can reach the wall of the opposite building with your hand. It is very depressing and the light and air are not good. The sound insulation is very poor, and the people on the opposite building speak very clearly at night. I don't know if it is raining or air conditioning in the morning, the dripping sound is very loud and noisy. The room is fully equipped with a refrigerator and washing machine, which is a long-term residence. The sanitation is average, the quilt and pillows are a bit sweaty, and later I asked the landlord to change the new pillow. The landlord’s service is not patient enough. Because of the invoice problem, I am fighting for my rights and asking for invoices. Although the invoice problem is solved, the landlord is very impatient during the processing process.

The decoration of the hotel is relatively old, the facilities are aging, and the room lighting is dim, which is not suitable for office work. The room size is relatively large, there are many restaurants around, and the morning tea at the Lychee Restaurant next door is very good. The transportation is convenient to take a taxi. Tianhe Park is nearby. It's good to visit the park when you have time.
