Lavande Hotel (Guangzhou Tianhe Zhengjia Square)

This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel location, and it is pretty solid. I have never ate the breakfast here so I cannot comment on that, but I always appreciated the staff. Their front desk speak fine/good English, however I did notice that after a while they started to speak past me (White American) to my girlfriend (Chinese) in Chinese, despite me actually knowing a little bit of Chinese. Just seemed a little rude considering that I booked the room, in my name, etc etc. I get it, though. I thought that the room was always very clean and they always replaced our towels and snack. I feel like the cleaning staff were always very respectful when cleaning around our stuff. The hotel is a little old, I think. Some wear is starting to show. This is the second time that our TV remote has not worked, not sure why. Our shower had a chunk of the tiling coming off. Also, despite us booking the same exact room type, it is obvious that the rooms here are not created equal. Our room was obviously smaller than our last room (same type). While the bed was the same size and things, there was just less walkable room and an obvious missing chair that was in our other room. We did laundry, which was convenient, but there is only one washer and dryer for the entire hotel, which is lacking. Location is really good with a lot of restaurants, big malls, and the Shipaiqiao metro station nearby. I will probably stay here again if the price is right and not inflated (it was hiked up for the holiday when I stayed, despite obvious mass vacancy in the hotel)

The chain Lavanda always a good choice, clean and reliable. The location is wonderful, nice shopping malls and restaurants around

Great place for a quick stay in Guangzhou. Centrally located, clean rooms, and helpful staff.
