The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou

During this stay, I primarily interacted with the housekeeping staff. First off, the concierge team was the most disappointing. Over my two-day stay, only two employees greeted me. One who left a good impression was a gentleman with glasses and some gray hair; he made eye contact, smiled, and offered a greeting. He was the only concierge I felt met Ritz standards. The others standing at the entrance seemed a bit unprofessional; when I asked about picking up takeout, they'd use 'you' instead of a more respectful address, and they wouldn't greet me even when we passed by each other face-to-face. Now, about the guest room. The housekeeping staff provided excellent service; items I requested were delivered promptly. Their service was much better than the front office. However, the cleanliness of the room itself was a real issue. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that both beds looked like steamed buns, oddly shaped. Neither of the two mouthwash cups was clean; one had a water stain ring around the rim and lots of white fuzz inside, which looked more like towel lint than cup cloth. You might want to ask how many cup cloths housekeeping staff are given per day and retrain them on how to clean and inspect cups. (I also wonder if you require them to use a sanitizing room to clean cups?) There were many water spots on the trash can in the toilet area; I looked around and there was no faucet nearby, so you can imagine where those came from. Then, on the bedroom TV and picture frame, one touch revealed a layer of dust. I only touched the first picture frame, leaving the other two for the executive housekeeper; when you check them, please also look at the dust on the light bulbs. The lid of the ice bucket box was unglued inside. I looked at the sliding door on the right side of the TV cabinet and realized the glue was stuck there. I wanted to help reattach it, but the double-sided tape had lost its stickiness over time. Please re-glue it yourselves. For the slippers, one was tucked over the other, and the bottom one was covered by paper, making me think there was only one initially. Who set this standard? It’s 'great'! The used coffee capsule tray had coffee stains. The coffee capsule box was peeling paint due to age. I suggest the hotel buy some paint and have the engineering department touch it up; it won't cost much, and management should approve it. If they don't, then it's not your problem anymore, right? I didn't examine the room in great detail, just a general look. I called the operator three times. The first two times were great; they answered within three rings and addressed me by my last name. The third time, it was clear they were busy; they didn't address me by my last name, and the wait time was a bit longer, likely because they had just finished another call, which is understandable. I hope the above feedback can be helpful to the hotel, as the Ritz is, after all, a brand.

We were upgraded to a room with a Guangzhou Tower view, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. The room service was very thoughtful; they cleaned the room promptly and even tidied up and replaced toiletries and towels when we returned from dinner after showering in the afternoon. Big kudos to the staff!

I frequently stay at hotels around Zhujiang New Town, but this was my first time at this particular hotel. I mainly chose it for the 'five meals a day' offering. Since it was my first stay, when I checked in at the front desk on the first floor, a female manager, Ms. Zhang (I don't remember if her full name was Zhang Xingxing), heard about it and helped us upgrade our room type. We had a view of the Canton Tower and the Opera House. She also has an excellent memory for faces, always greeting us proactively when we returned from going out. Overall, my experience was as follows: 1. Contrary to some online reviews, the doormen and staff were not inactive or unenthusiastic; they proactively opened car doors, helped with luggage, and provided directions. 2. The front desk helped us arrange birthday decorations in the room, which my child loved. 3. The meals were indeed a highlight. The five meals a day offered a rotating menu with almost no repeats. The freshly cooked items at lunch and dinner on the first day were different from those on the second day. 4. Room service was also prompt, contrary to some online comments about it being slow; they always provided what we needed in a timely manner. 5. The Food restaurant on the first floor, perhaps due to the number of guests, didn't provide the best service. Breakfast ended at 10:30 AM, and we arrived at 10:05 AM, but almost all the food we liked was already packed up. In contrast, the Executive Lounge did a much better job; even when guests arrived right as they were closing, they proactively offered meals. 6. Regarding room hardware, due to its age, the room layout did feel a bit cramped, and I personally thought the partitioning was illogical. However, the decor style was still up-to-date. I'd like to express my gratitude to Jessica Sam (Manager Wang) from the Executive Lounge. Upon learning that we were waiting for a high-speed train and it was dinner time, she proactively reported to her supervisor to coordinate and provided us with complimentary dinner service at the Executive Lounge. Thumbs up! 👍 Also, thanks to the hotel for the lion-shaped cake. It's definitely worth staying here again!

One of the best hotels in Guangzhou. We brought our kids and elderly parents to visit Guangzhou, so we stayed in Zhujiang New Town, which has an excellent location. We booked a room with a view of the Canton Tower, so we didn't have to take the kids and elderly out to see it. The hotel staff were friendly and lovely, and the hotel's fragrance was very pleasant. We'll definitely come back next time. The environment was clean and hygienic, and the room was very spacious.

This was my first stay at the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou. My wife and I opted for an Executive Room as we didn't want to dine out, and the 'five meals a day' option truly offered great value for money. We arrived at the hotel after 7 PM, and there was quite a queue for check-in. Thalia from the front desk noticed we seemed a bit anxious and proactively directed us to the Executive Lounge for check-in, allowing us to catch the dinner service just before it ended. She later followed up to check on our stay, which was a very thoughtful touch. Mary from the Executive Lounge was also excellent; she enthusiastically explained the dinner options and even helped us get our food. Our room offered lovely views of the Pearl River and Canton Tower, especially beautiful at night. The hotel is also incredibly close to the Guangdong Provincial Museum, just across the road, with the Guangzhou Library right next door. The breakfast was also very rich and varied. Overall, it was an excellent stay experience.

Extremely satisfied! It was a very pleasant stay—comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. I had some reservations after seeing a few negative reviews, but I'm so glad I chose this hotel in the end; it was absolutely the right decision. Upon arrival, the front desk attendant, with a welcoming smile, assisted us with check-in, proactively upgrading our room and arranging a late checkout. Stepping into the room, it felt clean and elegant, immediately putting us at ease. Every interaction highlighted the meticulous attention to detail typical of an established hotel. I wanted to leave a piece of clothing I didn't want to carry with the concierge, and they kindly offered to send it directly to my room. The breakfast was also excellent; I especially loved their bread and yogurt. The restaurant was a bit cool, but the server promptly offered us cashmere shawls. The service was incredibly thoughtful and detailed. And the location speaks for itself—it's absolutely perfect! Right outside, you'll find the Provincial Museum, the Library, and Huacheng Park.
