I actually noticed this China Southern Airlines Airport Pearl Hotel last summer when I was in Huadu, Guangzhou. It was just around the corner from the Hilton Garden Inn where I was staying. After seeing a row of budget hotels, the China Southern Airlines Airport Pearl Hotel really stood out. Not only was it grand and beautiful, but more importantly, it was right at the Feiyue Road intersection, making it very easy to find. So, nine months later, I decided to fulfill my wish and booked a stay. The price was very reasonable, 468 a night including breakfast.
What's more, most flights have now moved to the newly built T3 terminal. Although it's very spectacular and refined, neither the subway nor buses reach it yet, only intercity trains, which is somewhat inconvenient. Fortunately, the hotel shuttle enthusiastically picked me up and dropped me off, even though I was the only passenger. China Southern's standards are truly different. The journey was a bit further than last time, but I was familiar with the route. I quickly checked in upon arrival at the hotel and received an upgraded room. Last time I was here, I was captivated by the large lawn. It looked especially beautiful in the sunlight – just imagine breathing that fresh air.
In the evening, I revisited some familiar spots, heading to Guangzhou Sunac Land for dinner, and then strolling around Jiuyi Village next door. I have to say, it might be a bit out of the way, but the satisfaction wasn't diminished at all. The hot water and bedding were excellent, making this experience unlike my previous visits to Guangzhou. The hotel also has a Chinese restaurant serving authentic Cantonese cuisine. I had lunch there the next day. The price was a bit on the higher side, but the quality made it completely acceptable. After looking around, near Baiyun Airport, and with China Southern's backing, this hotel seems to offer exceptional value for money.
