Photos are self explanatory. Broken fridge and equipment, mould and humidity all over the place. No furniture. Terrible beds. Dirty as if it wasn't cleaned for months. they are selling the villas because the developer went bankrupt a few year ago but managed to keep some properties. It's shameful that they rent things like this.

We stayed in this accommodation in our winter break (family of 4). The villa was a little bit confusing to find, but is actually right in front of VidaMar Hotel (turn right from the roundabout as you see the hotel). The villa is located in gated community and the reception is located in 1B area (left hand side as you pass security gate) so you feel extra secure (especially for us who rented a car). As we came in January, it was not really busy and a bit quiet (other than in New Year where some villas nearby having a New Year blast) so it was very relaxing. The villa is huge with dedicated parking in the basement and door direct to the accomodation. The parking is a bit tight though. We picked 2 bedroom-villa and it is a very spacious villa. Very high ceiling and airy with essential furniture. Saying that, as the room is basically quite empty, it is very echoey and a bit hard to hear what other family member was saying to you when you are not in the same room. There is swimming pool in each villa which is clean (1.2 m is the deepest) that we did not use (as it was too cold) and 4 loungers. Outside, there is also a dining table in case you like to dine after swimming. It feels like staying at home away. Kitchen has fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, kettle, washing machine and dishwasher. Dishwasher tablet and washing powder is not provided as part of your stay, but you can easily buy them in nearby supermarket 2 roundabouts away (Coviran). They also have an ironing board with iron, broom/dustpan/mop, etc. Wifi is strongest downstairs and TV is not very entertaining as not all channels work and they are either in in local language or dubbed. There is also TV in master bedroom and both bedrooms have AC (we don’t need that though). Master bedroom has ‘his and hers’ sinks and there is bidet in both en-suite. The only thing weird thing is that there is no shower screens so water would splash like anything every time you take shower so extra bathroom mat is absolutely needed. Comfortable beds and there is balcony in master bedroom facing the pool downstairs. Beach is only about 5 minutes away from villa, clean and quiet, maybe due to winter. If you feel like cooking, there is Coviran/Ocean Supermarket that has almost everything. It has an attached cofffe shop with some nice pastries. But if you don’t feel like doing anything, VidaMar Hotel could sort you out. We had our breakfast and brunch there and it was really good. Villa does not actually provide housekeeping, but there was staff came inside our villa when we were in to check if we need one. All staff were very friendly and helpful, we were allowed to have a late check-in as our flight was later in the evening. We were really grateful with that. We are thinking to come again very soon, maybe when it is a bit warmer so that we would be able to use the swimming pool outside.

Let me tell you, do not book under any circumstances, this is the worst place I have ever stayed in and I have traveled around the world, I was misled as this is advertised as a 5* wow more like 3* and I am being generous, Issues Rotten decking Dirty floors, walls and furniture Kitchen falling apart Doors broken Pool grids dirty Pool grid broken very dangerous Pool floor 10inch crack This is place is so run down it’s a health and safety hazard and should be shut down I complained and they said there was nothing wrong and it’s not a 5* Not sure why they advertise this as a 5* Don’t be fooled by the lovely pictures on there website, they are about 10 years old This place is the worst

I recently stayed at Salgados Beach Villas with my family. We have 2 x 2 bedroom villas. I have holidayed in and around Gale/Vale de Parra for over 30 years and have never stayed in accommodation so poorly maintained and so dirty. I’ve also never felt the need to write a negative review for any of the accommodation we have stayed at over the years. We decided to book this accommodation as I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer which means I am immuno-compromised. Staying in a self contained villa meant that I was not mixing the way we would have been in a hotel and I wrongly assumed it would be safer for me. Especially given it was claimed to be 4*. On arrival it was apparent that the villa wasn’t necessarily clean but I chose to ignore this given an early start, a tired child and the fact we were keen to head out for dinner. Through the night our child was sick and whilst stripping the bed we realised that we were not alone - our room was full of ants… they were even crawling along our divan. I have experienced ants in other accommodations nearby but NEVER in an upstairs bedroom and definitely never in my bed!! I bought my own cleaning supplies and began cleaning all surfaces to ensure my own safety. The next morning we put ant powder down and requested that management arrange for clean bedding to be delivered. By mid afternoon we had no choice but to contact our holiday provider who intervened to attempt to rectify our issues. Dirty windows, food/drink spillages up table and chair legs as well as window frames in the kitchen. Towel hooks falling out of the wall. Cleaning staff changing our bedding and leaving a divan cover on which had sick on it… only to return to do a deep clean and still not change it, even though they were advised of this. What should have been a relaxing trip away with my family to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday and for me to have some r&r mid treatment, turned out to be the complete opposite! Avoid at all costs!!!!

Villa was great as was the pool area. Everything you need including a full kitchen. It was a bit worn but does not affect your holiday. No problem with ants as reported. You will need a car as not much locally. The marina has plenty of good restaurants and about a 10 min drive. Check in isn't until 4 pm which isn't good when your flight lands at 10 am so a lot of hanging around. Can't fault the villas however the bigger villas were used for a lot of stag & hen parties and also accommodates large groups of youths. Most groups were fine and you expect them to have a bit of fun however for the last 4 days a large group of lads were a complete nightmare. Music blaring full blast all day with all the doors open so no quiet relaxing by your pool. Also loads of banging and shouting sitting in cars with music full volume during the day and night.we were expecting groups to have nights out but they were arriving back around 4 am with the same noise level. If I had realised the resort was hosting large groups of youths I wouldn't have stayed there. We were put here by TUI last minute after they cancelled our village villa so not a lot of choice. I think the resort should decide if its for families or parties. Felt like I was in an 18 to 30 resort the last 4 days. Also worth noting that a couple of mornings we found the gate to our pool area was open and on one occasion a guy from the noisy villa even walked into our pool area so we never left the doors unlocked and kept valuables out of sight. If you are lucky enough to have neighbours with a bit more consideration you will have a fab time.

What a fabulous week I have just had with my family! The villas and the surrounding area is stunning and myself, husband and three children loved it. The villa is beautiful and is absolutely huge and has everything you need for your stay - Iron, hair dryer etc. Upon arrival your villa is stocked with shampoo, shower gel, enough toilet roll for the week etc and in the kitchen, some dishwasher tablets and cloths. We was in a three bed, three bathroom villa and when I say massive, they are! Each room had a modern feel to it and the glass walkway across the top floor and floating staircase added to that. It did seem clean when we arrived but I will say we found odd dummies etc around the villa during our stay so it can’t have been as thoroughly cleaned as we thought. You do get bath and pool towels provided and these was changed by a cleaner who came in once during our stay and cleaned around. The pool area was lovely, albeit a bit cold but this can’t be helped. You did feel safe in the villa as to get on the complex you have to pass security but all the locks are by an electric keycard, I would of felt much safer if I had a chain lock or a physical lock so I knew 100% it was locked. This was the same for the basement door which led to the underground car park and front door, you never felt like they was locked. Only thing I would consider with these villas is if you have young children you can not relax, or I felt I couldn’t. The staircase would of been better with a retractable gate as you could just walk around the staircase from coming in the front door and if you have a toddler whose wanting to run round etc they would fall the two flights down to the basement. It’s hard to explain - sorry should of took pictures. The area is really nice and quiet and the complete opposite to the centre of albufeira we visited one day and I’m so glad we chose to stay in this area. The beach is a 5/10 walk away and the waters clean and the sand clean. You can hire beds and umbrellas and if you walk further down the beach there’s a couple of snack bars open. There is a grocery shop 5/10 min walk away the other way from the villas that stocks almost anything you would need for your holiday. We ended up using Ubers all week to get to zoomarine, the marina and central Albufeira to name a few. We needed an XL Uber but the most we paid was about €18 each way, they was super quick and every time came to the villa entrance in a couple of minutes. We did eat out every night but our favourite was Scenarium, we also tried Primadonna (which was in the nearby hotel), Bellavita and Ramires. Ramires was about a 20 min drive away but is a real authentic peri chicken restaurant. You don’t get a menu just plates of chicken, fries and salad. Lots of locals in, definitely should go there to try. We also ordered 2 meals on Uber eats as we got in late but they took hours to arrive and wasn’t that good. We booked the holiday only a few weeks before going so was limited to wh

This is rated 5 star and definitely isn't. At best, it is 3 stars. We were put in villa 1 A7 to start with. The air conditioning didn't work, the decor was very tired with paint flaking off the walls. The reception staff, however, were very friendly and helpful and moved us to another villa. This was slightly better, but some lights and plug sockets were not working, which we put up with as we didn't want to be moved again. The pool decking and drainage were worn and damaged in places. There are plenty of trip hazards outside, even a broken tile to slice your foot open on. Now to the beds!! NOT 5 STAR!! Very uncomfortable cheap mattresses with plastic covers. Just in case we piss our selves, I guess?? I could rant on all day. Oh . I nearly forgot to mention the ants. Had to exterminate hundreds every day. Soon as you drop a crumb anywhere, they appear from under the tiles. Give this a miss for now until they renew everything

I was nervous of recent reviews which had referred to: ants, noise, dirt, poor conditions and poor service. I am sorry others had those experiences, but we found it generally very good. Some of above is true to a small extent in our villa, but nowhere near to the extent it upset our holiday. There were occasionally a few ants after a day or so if you left stuff out but never on surfaces or en masse. One or two plugs didn't work. The bedsheets had a blemish or two. Once or twice cleaners just appeared inside unannounced. The villas were enormous and it's true some of it is slightly wasted space. Service is pleasant enough. They sell bits and bobs like coffee at reception. It would be good if you could buy some of these to be waiting in your villa but c'est la vie. So overall: generally very good and we had a lovely time. Don't be afraid of the more severe reviews (or at least we can't attest to that), as I was.

Myself and my Husband have been to Portugal before but stayed in a hotel this was the first time us having a Villa. Although it’s called a beach villa I wouldn’t say it’s a villa it’s more like an apartment. The place really needs a good freshen up. Walls need painting, tiles in the pool need replacing, pool could do with a heating system as it’s freezing cold. The bushes to the outside door needs cutting so you can get in and out freely. The villa wasn’t cleaned properly there was loads of ants in the bedrooms and webs all over the outside furniture. The cleaners came to clean the villa and to give us clean towels on the 5th day into our stay we was only there for 7 days so definitely should of come sooner. When they cleaned the villa it was like they couldn’t be bothered. Although the ants was cleaned up she walked all her dirty footprints over the clean floor she had just mopped. The new towels we was given also had holes in them. The overall space of the place is amazing. Underground car parking you get two spaces The beach is literally a 5 minute walk from the villas. Sand is lovely and soft however the sea is cold, rough, stones on the sand bed and it’s got some big fishes. If you want a massage please go see the Thai lady on the beach near the accommodation she is absolutely brilliant. The best massage I’ve ever had. She’s also cheaper than the one you can have done at the spa on site. We had the full body massage and it cost €100 for the both of us. Sun loungers on the beach cost €15 for the day for two chairs A car is definitely needed if you want to explore portugal and not just be based at the Villa. Old town is a 15 minute drive and New town is a 20 minute drive. I would highly recommend you do a day trip to Lisbon. Visit Castelo de S. Jorge (castle) you will not be disappointed with the views and the amazing pictures you will get. Lisbon is 2 hours and 34 minutes drive from the villa. If you book your package holiday with Tui car hire is included. The car is provided by Europcar. You will have to leave a deposit of up to €700 on a card. One word of advice please check your bank statements as they try to take more money than they should. My husband got charged two extra charges that he shouldn’t of been. Also keep all your receipts in regards to the car (tolls, parking, petrol etc) also you will be told you have to refill the tank to full when returning the car. Do this at a petrol station closest to the airport so they don’t try charge you more because the dial is slightly lower than number 1 If you like good food then you must go try Clay Oven Indian Kitchen it’s amazing the food is very fresh and delicious. If your Muslim like we are then you will struggle to find Halal food. The only options they have is curry or kebabs. You will find yourself having to eat similar things or getting an option that isn’t nice

The good: Spacious, has all the basic amenities including laundry, kitchen is reasonably well stocked, spacious bathrooms, spacious bedrooms. The pool is a bit cold but nice to have and the pool deck is spacious to lay out and/or to eat lunch/dinner. Close to beach. The bad: Very subpar/dated furniture - in fact the whole unit looked empty for the most part. Beds were VERY firm. There were ANTS! Tons of small red/black ants in the bedroom and in the kitchen/dining area. We told the resort staff about this and they mostly brushed it off. Certainly made no effort to address it. No cleaners to be found anywhere on site. The staff were friendly enough - we had a good experience but we did run into guests who had a lot of complaints about the service and the villas themselves. Overall a dated residence that is desperately in need of a facility upgrade and please do something about the ants.

We stayed here for a week 2 adults and 2 children aged 3&6 from 11th -18th feb 2022. The villa was so lovely - airy and spacious to say it was only a 2 bedroom villa. It had a downstairs loo and both bedrooms had an En-suite. There was a bath in one of the bathrooms which was great for our 3 year old. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need and there are Supermarkets close by. The Apolhino Supermarket has everything you could need! The pool area in the Villa was fab with sun beds, and a big table and chairs, however the pool was very cold because it was February so we didn’t actually use it. Lots of wardrobe space! Maid service came once whilst we stayed which was fine. You get loo roll- a kitchen pack with washing up liquid, dishwasher tablet, bin liners, cloths, washing tablet for the washing machine. Shower and separate beach towels were provided m. There’s a great size clothes drying rail which was very handy! There’s a cooler bag which we used to take on days out. We did have a car and I’m glad we did as I would say this location isn’t that close to anything going on. However we were very out of season so this could be different in busy periods. We loved going for days out discovering the stunning Algrave The car park is underneath the villas and there’s a door to get into the villa from there which was good. The beach which is literally a 5 minute walk away is HUGE and very beautiful with a small restaurant on there. There are a few restaurants around the resort but again closed due to the time of year. Negatives The villa was very echoey The patio doors upstairs and downstairs were very stiff! The showers sprayed out onto the floors so ensure you put a couple of towels down to avoid slipping. All in all I would highly recommend the Salgados Beach villas and I would definitely stay there again.

Boy these villas are huge. They have all the basic luxuries but no smart tv or dvd player, no Bluetooth speaker, but they had a tv (freeview) in every room. Had two adjoining villas for 7 days so lived in one slept in the other. Downside, plug sockets, only 50% of the sockets worked. Had a maid service mid week so changed towels and sheets. All told we had a great time and would be happy to use again. If I was going to criticise it would be that units are starting to look tired but don't let that put you off.

I’ll be very honest to say that I was more than satisfied with the villa and there was plenty of space, we stayed in a 3 bedroom villa for 6 of us and there was more than enough room. On arrival we had to pay a 400 euro deposit which we never knew about but it was fine. The location was okay, right on the beach and the beach was amazing, one of the clearest and softest beaches I’ve ever been to in my life, however the restaurants didn’t offer much variety in my opinion all mainly just sea food. There isn’t many restaurants close by to be honest and the ones that are there all have pretty much the same menus. There is a supermarket that is probably about a 10 minute walk close by so that was fine. Also if you are staying here and plan on going to the old town or the ***** on a daily basis then this is okay but in my opinion too far, it’s about a 20 minute taxi ride away which I’ll be honest I thought that wouldn’t bother me but it did get slightly annoying and inconvenient. Waiting for taxis on the app which sometimes never arrived was annoying and due to there being 6 of us sometimes we’d wait an hour for taxis but that’s not taking anything away from the villa. The pool was okay, as it was still around 24-28 degrees Celsius on a daily basis the pool was still okay to go in if you were moving around quite a bit otherwise it was pretty cold but we were all satisfied with the pool, it’s about 6-7 metres long if I was to guess and it was 1.2 metres deep so adequate enough. It doesn’t get too much soon as it’s covered by the shade of the bush for about half of the day, in our particular villa it was anyway so it was completely shaded by about 1-2 o clock. The bedrooms were all good and spacious and all had en suites and we were satisfied. The balcony was lacking a table and chairs if I was to be picky but you could just bring the chairs up from the decking outside like we did so happy enough wit that. One problem was ants we had and I read another few reviews that were the same. There was a lot of of them and I mean they were everywhere. For this reason we didn’t really cook our own food as they were all over the kitchen counter and anywhere we had snacks they were there crawling all over. They were everywhere in the bedroom too and sometimes crawling around on the bed. We just got on with this to be honest but it was annoying having to walk around constantly in sliders there was no way you could walk in barefoot on a morning or night or after a shower or any time. Overall we were happy with the stay and the villa was really good apart from the minor problems we had.

Below is the complaint email sent to the villa: I would like to make a complaint about the service and experience we have had with our stay with you on the 1st June - 7th June which we paid 1158.10€. I feel a full refund of our stay is in order due to everything that went wrong with our stay. I have listed below our experience for you to consider, please bear in mind we will not be staying with you again due to our horrendous experience. Wednesday 01/05/2022 We arrived around 12:05pm on the day and the reception was closed as everyone had gone for lunch. We had to wait 45 minutes for staff to finish their lunch to then check in. This is very unprofessional, you knew we were arriving and somebody should have advised us that if we arrive during certain times that nobody will be available. This was disappointing for your first impression. Once someone arrived they advised the room would be ready for 14:00 and our beds would be together as requested on many occasions previously and on the day. We arrived back from lunch and checked in for 15:00, the beds weren't together (surprise), we moved the beds ourselves and the floor was filthy. After a long day and not so great a start to our holiday, we took a nap, in our surprise we had two ladies enter our villa and enter the room of a couple sleeping together in bed. THIS IS NOT OK, what if they were not appropriately dressed??? We complained and were assured that no other housekeeping would disturb us. Thursday 02/05/2022 Housekeeping knocked on our door and advised us that we must check out, I advised that we just checked in yesterday, she was surprised and left and apologised. Again we went to complain, we advised reception of this and also advised that our pool light wasnt working and we didn't have an iron and our bedroom doors do not lock. Reception advised it would be sorted on this day, IT WAS NOT. Friday 03/05/2022 Pool light was still not working so we couldn't use it in the evening which we wanted to. We went to make some oven food and the oven was making very weird sounds. It felt like it was going to explode and we asked for help, they took a few hours to arrive which meant we had to wait to eat lunch. Bedroom doors still dont lock and the women didn't feel safe knowing the housekeeping have a habit of helping themselves in without advising us. Saturday 04/05/2022 On this day our pool light was finally fixed, however we still had to ask for an iron as we hadn't received this. Reception delivered this to us directly but checked to see if we were lying that we didn't have it due to the amount we have complained about everything. Housekeeping arrived late for our scheduled clean which made us late for our day out as we were not comfortable to leave them alone in our villa. We also went out for a walk in the evening and on our return my husband had walked into the pipe coming out of the floor due to poor lighting. It is very dangerous for anyone including kids to have something like that po
