Loved the location and the peace and quiet this Ryokan offered. The town itself was a real gem.

Highly recommend this hotel! We had the best time in Gujo, and in this beautiful Japanese ryokan. The hosts are a very sweet couple and they made delicious Japanese breakfast every morning. The husband even drove us to the highway bus station when we had checked out! The surroundings are out of this world beautiful and you can enjoy walking along the rivers and small streets of Gujo Hachiman. The bath is traditional Japanese style and it was super relaxing and nice warm water, really a great experience! There are many good restaurants nearby, especially Nora where we had delicious Japanese curry! Go to Gujo!

Miharaya is located right in the centre and 150m from the bus station Jokamachi Plaza.  Easily walk to Gujo Hachiman Castle and Igawa street.  The stream flowing by the side of the Ryokan is so clear you can see the bottom.  It is totally serene and peaceful.  The host service  is par excellence.  All are attentive helpful and go out of the way to make our stay comfortable.  Breakfast the authentic Japanese style can be arranged at a very reasonable price and you can truly enjoy a typical Japanese meal which is served hot and precisely at the specified time.  Well done Miharaya Ryokan.

It was a bit iffy as a room-only stay, since there was no breakfast or private toilet.

Very cute traditional tatami inn in a very cute town. Getting there from Nagoya train station is either three slow trains (the last one being a cute mountain diesel single carriage one, fancy tourist dining car option also available), or by express bus (make sure you reserve a seat!). We fell asleep to the sound of the river running nearby, there are plenty of shared toilets, and showering is done onsen-style downstairs.

We had a great time! Very friendly hosts, nice rooms in the Japanese style. Great breakfast. They drove us to the highway bus stop when we left. Beautiful little town, well worth the visit!

Attentive hosts who served tasty breakfast in Japanese and western style. Thick cozy bedding to keep the winter chill away. Steamy hot bathing facilities. Everything clean and tidy. Go to Gujo. Stay here.

Very nice and lovely host. Rooms are spacious with great river view. Free parking for anyone doing road trips. Will stay again.

It's small ryokan in Gujo Hachiman. The river view from the room is very nice. Breakfast was traditional Japanese style and it was super good with lots of variety. Highly recommended.

The location is very convenient. Whether you're going to the castle or strolling through the old town, even the restaurants and souvenir shops in the same alley are quite good! The hotel rooms are spacious and overlook the river, with a strong Japanese ambiance. On the night of our check-out, the owner even took us to the highway bus station in a minibus. The service was excellent!

It was a very comfortable family-run guesthouse, apparently run by a husband and wife. The male owner picked us up from the bus station, but since he wasn't there when we left, he couldn't take us to the station and booked a taxi for us. The female owner, seeing our large luggage, immediately arranged a river-view room on the first floor for us. The room was very comfortable, stylish, and clean. The only issue was that the sink and toilet were outside the room, which was a bit inconvenient and could be a little cold in winter. Otherwise, it was perfect. The river view from the room was also beautiful. Gunsang is truly a wonderful town, and I will definitely come back!

This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) by the river is affordable, the owner is kind, and the Japanese breakfast is delicious and healthy. However, there were quite a few insects in June.
