Hotels near Shinmei Shrine in Gujo

I stayed １ to go to the ski area in Okumino for two consecutive nights. There is no restaurant in the hotel, and only a night stay can be done, but there is a hot spring facility adjacent to the road station right in front of you. There was a restaurant in the facility, and I didn't worry about dinner. The room is nice and clean anyway, the twin room is compact, but I never saw the bed, and I'm thick and small. It was like climbing into the bed (laughs) The staff was kind and polite and smiled and satisfied. Breakfast is a free coffee in the lounge with handmade bread bought at the hot spring facility I was able to take it slowly in the room with the coffee of the machine, and at night I drank the wine I bought in the convenience store, and I drank the ice in the lounge.

２ It was my first time use. The facilities were luxurious interior and the room was very beautiful and cute. I stayed with my daughter and husband who was one year old. When I was eating, my daughter was noisy, dropped things, and I was annoyed with color 々, but the staff responded with a smile and was saved. Also, I was really helpful to respond to my niece that I wanted to change the time of dinner suddenly. Of course the greatness of the facilities and the deliciousness of the meal, but above all, I was happy with the warm response of the staff. It was a hotel that I wanted to go many times. It is very far from the Mino Bus and it takes 30 minutes to walk uphill. The hotel is not easy to find. There is only Japanese on the door, no English and Chinese. I found it after wandering around the door for a long time. The Japanese-style room is quite satisfactory, there is no separate bathroom, the public toilet is unisex, and there is no lock, it is frightening to go to the toilet. The price/performance ratio is very low and is not recommended.

The most humane hotel I have ever stayed in. Very traditional Japanese style tatami hotel. The staff of the family business is very old and meticulous, and all kinds of snacks. There are public and private hot springs, very comfortable. In particular, I recommend the 700-year-old Japanese cypress made from the largest single tree stump in the United States. It is very creative. highly recommended. The breakfast is customized in a private mode, and the sample is not repeated every day. The only flaw is that the rooms are scattered.

I visited because I wanted to enjoy traveling within the prefecture during the coronavirus pandemic. I thought it would be in the countryside, which is also in Gifu prefecture, but I was able to visit unique local shops, the hotel was very clean, and I was able to have a happy trip in an environment that made me feel relaxed. I think this is a hotel where you can enjoy the flower festival and cityscape unique to this area!

The building is interesting and staircase. Maybe the original site is a slope, so I think it is made like this. Also, it is interesting to make an elevator diagonally up like a cable car. However, there are only ２ units and it is slow, so it doesn't come easily. The stairs are essential for the person who is troubled, but the stairs are also wide 々, so I personally think that I don't think it's surprisingly painful, but I think it's concerned by some people. The building is old, but I think it is maintained clean first. The room is also bad, but the refrigerator is only available in the old paid specification. I want you to do something to the stone. I think dinner depends on the course, but there were variety and variety that can be drunk with HIDA beef, sushi / stab, dessert, and sake. Breakfast is a buffet but normal. The hot spring is wet with alkaline springs. According to your preference, it is a little wet and is kept in. It is located in ２ F and ８ F, and ８ F is new and open air, so it is recommended.

I'm struggle to put my review in words cause I am amazed by the services offered by the hotel and the staffs. First of all, upon reaching Gero station from Nagoya station using Hida Line, we are thrilled by the surrounding atmosphere and we took our time snapping photos around not knowing that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus for all their customers. The driver waited patiently at the exit gate, holding the hotel sign board waiting for all customers to leave the Gero station. This is a real PLUS in our stays. After we checked in, the staff lead us to our rooms and explained to us on the facilities of the hotel and the staff helped to exchange the size of Yukata after studying our heights. Very observant and thoughtful. There are 3 different hot springs in the hotel and if you have time, you can visit all of them. You can always put on your Yukata and walk inside the hotel region, including the stunning Japanese garden. Just that, most of the services/shops in the hotel are closed on 9pm JST. Remember to plan properly. The room is very spacious with 2 comfortable beds, a small tatami region for you to enjoy your private Japanese tea time. We love the breakfast provided by the hotel as it offered variety of both Japanese and Western breakfast. There is a shuttle bus service (usually once per hour for instance 10am, 11am and 12 noon) to fetch the customers back to Gero station. The staff waved us good bye is another amazing experience provided by Japanese. It is just amazing feeling. Tips: 1. You can purchase the 5Days JR pass and enjoy unlimited ride on some JR trains if you plan to visit Nagoya region and a day trip to Tateyama Alpine Kurobe route. 2. There are not many tourists during our visiting time (24 April 2023) and we love the peaceful feeling of it. Just that, it also comes with not many restaurants are available during the day.

Quiet, first class food, can see the stars, skiing is nearby, recommended

The location is very good 👍 It is very convenient to go to several ski resorts nearby. The food is delicious 😋 This price is very suitable.

I was attracted by the woody Scandinavian look from hotel photos. And it was exactly how it when we arrived. We had the loft cottage and our kids (13 and 10) were overjoyed with the choice. The loft immediately became their sanctuary and they were totally at home with their own floor. It's a very comfortable space for our family of 4. There is a kitchenette which would have been really useful if we had stayed longer. It is very clean and self sufficient. Take note that the hotel is about 30-40mins drive away from Gujo Hachiman city center, so you would want to explore the city before you drive up to the hotel. Also note that if you will need to make a reservation for their dinner or BBQ at your cottage (this is not mentioned in their english website). However right outside the hotel, there are a few eateries (Italian and Chinese) and there is also a convenience store right round the corner so you will not be left with no dinner if you arrive late. But the Italian food we had was nothing to shout about, so please plan well before your arrival. If you relish a quiet vacation base away from the touristy traps (eg Takayama), you can easily use Gujo as a base to travel up to Shirakawago or to Takayama. There will be people who prefer the buzz at Takayama but we found Gujo absolutely peaceful and wished we had more time in this place
