Arrival Beach and Spa at Gulhi ★★★★

"To begin with, after ordering tuna with curry at the hotel restaurant on the day of my arrival, I started having problems. Thanks to the hotel manager named Rifa, who took me to the hospital, where I was prescribed the necessary medications. The hotel paid for the doctor's consultation and the pills he prescribed. One of the inconvenient aspects is the constant disconnection and long connection times to WiFi when entering your room. You won't be able to ride bicycles, as they are not maintained or cleaned from corrosion. They just rusted due to the humidity on the island. I ordered freshly squeezed juice at the hotel restaurant, and it was like water! They diluted the juice with water to save money. However, the cafe at the neighboring hotel served delicious fresh juice without any water or ice! I also ate at the cafe at the neighboring hotel during the day, and I enjoyed the delicious Tom Yam, which did not cause any problems! Be prepared for the flies that will crawl on your food! There are so many of them, and they are everywhere! The prices for excursions in this hotel are twice as high as in the tourist offices around the corner! The price I paid for my room two weeks ago was for a room one level higher, with a normal window and balcony. However, by the time I checked in, all the rooms had significantly decreased in price. When I requested an upgrade, despite the fact that there were many available rooms in the hotel, no one helped or did anything! They just smiled hypocritically, saying that they would try to help, but in fact nothing! Very, very bad! I had to slam the doors every time I left the room so that the door would close. They didn't want to refund the money for the tour, which they had postponed to another day. They said it was during the eviction, but I insisted and the money was returned somehow. Bottled water can barely be questioned. In general, I can say that there are other places with better service."

📍 Moon Fish, Gulhi

"Very close to Bikini Beach, you can just walk downstairs to the beach. From the second-floor rooms, you can enjoy sea views right from your bed. Bikini Beach on the island is beautiful, and there are some small fish to see while snorkeling, including lionfish. In the evenings, you can even spot sharks at the jetty."

Ocean Pearl Maldives at Gulhi Island ★★★

📍 Mirihi Magu, Gulhi

"Ocean Pearl was our first stop in Maldives and we couldn’t have a better experience with them. We were so comfortable that we returned a few days later. The rooms and the hotel in general are super cozy. All the staff are super nice and make you feel at home. We did diving and excursions with them and we had an incredible experience. We couldn't have had a better guide than Hammi, he made our experience in the Maldives incredible."

Avyanna Gulhi Beach Hotel ★★★★
"The hotel's facilities are average, relatively clean, and the service is acceptable. However, please note that the speedboat schedule offered by the hotel is... It's a bit unreasonable. I originally had a 10:40 a.m. flight the next morning, and a representative said they could book a 7:30 a.m. speedboat. If I missed it, they could arrange a 7:45 a.m. speedboat. They even promised me that, so I decided to stay an extra night. The next day, they told me the only available speedboat was the 8:00 a.m. one, and suggested I take the 8:00 a.m. one. Actually, I couldn't make it because the lines at Male Airport were so long. This arrangement is completely unreasonable! Furthermore, I paid $25 USD, and they booked me on an old, ugly boat, not a speedboat! It's outrageous! I ended up taking the nice speedboat, but the hotel actually asked me to get off and take the ugly, old, two-story speedboat next door, and charged me the same $25 USD. It's outrageous! I refused... It took a long time for everyone to agree to let me take a normal speedboat. I suggest that you don't book the speedboat through this hotel. You can go to the dock and wait by yourself, and then go up and pay directly. In addition, if you want to sign up for a sea trip, this hotel basically cannot organize a sea trip. You can ask around in other places on the island. Some of them can organize a group. Overall, I was satisfied, but after all this trouble, the experience was greatly reduced... It is recommended that you consider the interests of customers reasonably when selling."

Arrival Beach and Spa at Gulhi ★★★★
"I'm going to detail my negative experience in five points. Firstly, the night before my arrival, my transit hotel manager tried to contact this hotel about their speedboat schedule. It took four calls to get through, and they told me to go to Jetty 6 at 11:50 AM the next day. However, the boat didn't arrive until 12:10 PM. I called the hotel seven times, and no one answered. I was so upset I almost cried, my mood plummeted. I've attached screenshots of my call log; 2 PM Beijing time is around 11 AM Maldives time. Also, we found out that the private speedboat costs only 150 Rufiyaa (less than $10) for Maldivian locals, but for tourists like us, it's $20-25 per person. Essentially, tourists are getting ripped off. The round-trip boat fare cost me $80 for two people. Secondly, regarding the 'free' breakfast, there were at least ten flies buzzing around each table while we ate, making it impossible to enjoy. For three out of five breakfasts, fresh fruit wasn't even provided; we were stuck with canned fruit from shared platters. Thirdly, after I returned from diving, a hotel staff member waited at my room door, claiming the manager said I needed help learning how to use the safe. They insisted on teaching me, and I'm honestly suspicious of their intentions. Fourthly, on January 14th at 7:40 PM, I wanted to smoke shisha at the hotel's outdoor restaurant. Even though only two people were using shisha machines, a female staff member told me there were none available. When I returned at 8:40 PM, there were four people smoking, and the same staff member again told me there were no machines. She even added, 'You don't need to come back, because we close at 9:30 PM, you won't get any.' Undeterred, I came back at 9 PM. A friendly guy I knew sold me shisha, and I was able to smoke until 10 PM. Finally, the hotel's main page clearly advertises currency exchange services. However, the hotel restaurant couldn't even break a $100 bill. The hotel manager told me to go to the Maldivian bank on the island to exchange money. Even the Russian guest at the next table asked me to exchange Rufiyaa for him. So, this 'currency exchange service' is non-existent, meaning they offer misleading services. In conclusion, the hotel charges $45 per person for sea fishing, while the neighboring Ayala hotel charges only $25, and they even cook your fish. On our last day, we chartered a speedboat for two people to fish for $40. This hotel is completely overpriced and dishonest. Do not book here."

"Loved our stay at the hotel. Was well for the money's worth. The hotel was very technological friendly giving us the "Netflix & Chill" upon our stay and giving a homely vibe which we loved. We specifically love the staff Sohail from tropic tree, he was available at all times and was very accommodating and took care of all our requests including the smallest ones as well and was very friendly. The food was very delicious."

"Terrible experience. We booked a room and when we we’re already in the room they kicked us out because they had a doble reservation and the other people were on their way to the hotel. They just said sorry and kick us out of the room 4 hours after the check in time. We had to find another hotel at 4pm and move. Mohamed the manager didn’t help us at all and days before I talked with him on WhatsApp and he said our reservation was confirmed and everything was ok. Don’t go to this hotel they are not serious. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anybody. About the room… it was full of mosquitos, old and smelly, they didn’t have face towels and there were a lot of noise because of construction nearby. "
