I stayed 2 at the end of the year. It was my first stay, but I wanted to relax and stay again. The hotel is over 9 floor, but the glass is often used and the view is bright everywhere. Creation that I have never seen before. A mechanism that cannot be put in the room key in the lodging zone. The building is a corridor style, overlooking the garden and chapel on the 9 floor, but it is lit up at night and this is beautiful again. The rooms are a bit vertical, but I was able to spend calmly. I liked my wife very much. The public bath is also like a fashionable and splendid hot spring hotel. Maybe more. There was a drum coin laundry next to the entrance of the public bath, and it was convenient for consecutive nights. Breakfast was a buffet, but the buffet on New Year's Day is a great word. When I arrived at the entrance with the service of the soup and arrived at the seat, the miscellaneous boiling was carried first. The soup was very delicious. In addition to the usual buffet, there were special dishes for New Year's Day, but there were many fresh sashimi, kazukono, shrimp, etc. There was red rice in rice. All were delicious and ate a lot. I went by car, but I went directly from the underground parking lot to the front floor and the parking fee was very good. Moreover, I think it is the best value for money in a hotel in Kumamoto City with a 24-hour parking setting. My wife started saving money because she wanted to go to the end of this year.

It is a hotel close to Kumamoto prefectural office. It is a little far from downtown, so it is not within walking distance from the station, but in front of Kumamoto prefectural office, about 5 minutes walk, high-speed buses and limited Express buses from various parts of Kyushu stop. The airport limousine bus also stops, so I think it is accessible when you come by bus. Of course, there is also a parking lot, so I think it is good to come by private cars or rental cars. In addition, when going to the downtown area, the bus can be used from the Tersa Mae bus stop of Kumamoto City bus if only the time is available, and there are many buses from the prefectural office Mae bus stop, so I didn't feel bitter about access. The room was renewed since I stayed before, and the unit bus was especially clean. There is also a sofa in the single room and it is made up of a large size. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the number of rooms was small, so it was Sunday, but it was not crowded and I was able to relax.

GGuest UserA very nice, modern hotel in the heart of the Kumamoto shopping district - very convenient location, right at the cross section of the two major covered shopping thoroughfares. Check-in only at 3pm and is an automated check-in/check-out system. Staff are very helpful and friendly. At check-in, you are free to choose your amenities from a very wide selection, including bath salts, face cleanser, moisturizer, coffee, green tea, etc. There is a giant tv in the room. No bottled water is provided. The room offers a full robe (short yukata and pants!). The rooms itself are very modern and renovated. There are two Family Marts and a 7-11 within a block of the hotel, as well as many dining and retail options within short walking distance. It is about a 15 minute walk to Kumamoto Castle and a 30 minute walk to Kumamoto Station.
SStantheman1989Very central location, which means the hotel is close to many amenities and great for a late night snack.
There is no attached carpark to the hotel, but the nearby multistory carpark helps to serve all the nearby hotels. Bring the carpark coupon to the hotel concierge to validate the coupon and you can get a daily carpark charge of 1300 yen.
Hotel also has a rooftop onsen, which was a great way to kickstart our Fukuoka trip!
JJohnston ChanThe hotel is situated next to a tram station but more importantly, within close proximity to Kumamoto castle and Sakura Machi, so sightseeing and grabbing dinner was no trouble. However, consider not travelling to this hotel with luggage on a tram since I found the experience quite gruelling. Trams in Kumamoto are not exactly designed for tourists carrying hefty luggage.
The staff spoke very decent English in the realm of Japanese hotels. The rooms spotlessly clean and sizeable also in terms of Japan. The only downside is that there is no bathhouse but this is much compensated by the spacious bathroom with a roomy bathtub and a rainfall shower.
All in all, the only thing you have to ponder upon is whether you would be travelling to this hotel with luggage on the tram. Otherwise, this is a perfect location to stay in Kumamoto!
(A photo of the whole room is not uploaded since my friend is in it!)
DDreamer02234323206We took Highway Bus (2.5hr) from Fukuoka Airport to Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. Koko Hotel is directly connected to the bus terminal. Hotel was opened in June 2022 and there were now clear signages to Koko Hotel as we alighted from the bus. We took escalator to the 2F and take the lift to the 14F where the Hotel lobby is. From the lobby, we get a clear view of Kumamoto Castle. Our Superior Twin Room is very spacious and comfortable. We paid Y32,310 for 2 nights. It is 10 mins walk to the Castle, and 10 mins taxi ride to Kumamoto Station. Amu Plaza next to Kumamoto Station has plenty of eateries. Sakuramachi has Family Mart, restaurants and shops.
GGuest UserStayed in a room with an open-air bath. The room was clean and easy to spend. There is a tatami mats, so you can go go go. The bed is a bit hard, but it is not difficult to sleep. The open-air bath can hear the sound of the car because it is all over the city, but there is a cherry blossom and it is not visible from the surroundings, and the curtain for completely blocking is also installed, so if you are concerned, you can use it. The water was clean and easy to use. The outlet is hardly close to the floor, under the TV, under the bed, the bathroom and the air cleaner. If the charging cable is short, the tablet will be charged at the bed. If the charging cable is long, you can extend it from the TV and put the tablet on the tatami mats to charge. It was because it was a room near the coin laundry on the 3 floor, and I heard the sound of the washing machine. However, I was able to spend it without worrying about it. It is also convenient that the next door is seven eleven. I didn't use breakfast buffet because of corona. The hotel receptionist is a sister in a T-shirt, and there is no atmosphere called ”Hotel Man”, but I was able to check in and check out smoothly, and there is no rudeness. It was a very good hotel with location, newness and cleanliness.
I’m just finishing a two night stay at the KKR Hotel Kumamoto. The KKR means the hotel is mainly intended for national civil servants, but in reality anyone can stay there and the prices are reasonable. I have a twin room on the 6th floor with a view of Kumamoto Castle from the bed! The room is closer in size to western hotels and breakfast is included. The hotel is an aging beauty, but is still pretty nice. Kumamoto is a hilly city, especially near the castle. There is not a lot nearby the hotel, unless you are driving, or you walk down to the city, about 600m. Breakfast in the morning is mostly Japanese. It is a buffet and the quality is good. If you are lookup for quiet and peaceful, this is the place.Overall, I’ve had a nice stay and would definitely stay here again.
GGrandTour43661427753This hotel is located within a short walking distance from the Kumamoto station. From the JR bstation exit it is on the left, just beside the Bic Camera store next. There is also a streetcar/tram stop so near the hotel which you can use to explore the city touristy spots! Shopping is convenient as the Kumamoto AMU Plaza (see another Review) is 5-mins walk away. The lobby is quite spacious and I quite like the intimate setting and lighting. Check-in was fast and 3 lifts serve well with travellers + luggages. The room design is quite standard and we have requested for x2 single bed, the room size is respectable. Noted that they're still using the physical hard key and not the keycard type. Hottel provided some amenities and complimentary bottled water in the room, sufficient for us . The Hotel is very into Going Green, there will be no housekeeping within first 3-days unless requested upon. This may likely be the model moving forward, to cut wastages. We had our breakfast at the nearby Pronto. The Kitaoka Shrine is just about 400 metres nearby, opposite direction of JR station so we recommend to drop by if time permits. A good stay experience. J
AAnonymous UserHotel environment is dark themed and calm, however during our time there, hotel was probably full house and the hk tour groups were so loud and rowdy, the service staff werent able to get them to lower their voices and commotion in the front desk nor at breakfast too. It was otherwise a very clean, and efficiently laid out room, good hotel option and at a convenient location too.
MmummywandersHighly recommended. The staff are very helpful and polite. The hotel is also in close proximity to shimotori shopping arcade and a big shopping mall. The castle is also within walking distance. The hotel lobby has quite a number of kumamon for photo taking.
BBao QuocGood location, 2 minute walk to Sakuramachi Bus Station for long distance bus or city bus and also near tram station for city roaming. The kumamoto is easily accessed with a 10 minute walk. The room size and amenities are standard and clean.
