Haast is a place many people would pass through, only staying a night because they have to so knowing this would be the situation I would be in I booked the only hotel that offered accommodation and food. The staff were all fantastic. The room was basic, clean, well used and it seemed clear that management wouldn’t be putting any effort into sprucing things up....which would have been fine but not for $182.00; a fairer rate would be in the $90-110 range. Restaurant food was standard pub fair. I was leaving early the next morning, had prepaid breakfast and the chef was kind enough to get up before breakfast service commenced to cook up a wonderful hot breakfast. Thank-you.

After the check-in, the boss personally knocked on the door and asked me that your child also needs to pay the same amount as the adult. So I gave him another 25 New Zealand dollars based on the room rate. And added that the hotel profile says that children are allowed to stay and my child is only 5 year old! I don't understand such charges! I have been to many countries and this is the first time I have met! Let me talk about the speed! Basically, there is no net around 7:00 in the evening! The landlord said that I might have it later.
