Banana International Youth Hostel

Didn't take any photos. The location is good, and it's a decent hostel overall. If I had to pick something outstanding, it's that everyone chats in the lobby in the evenings. But honestly, it only meets the most basic expectations of a hostel, yet people treat it like the gold standard. I've tried two other highly-rated hostels in Hainan, and they were just okay too. Maybe I haven't stayed in a hostel for a long time, or perhaps there are just too few really good hostels in China. Or maybe they should consider raising prices a bit and improving cleanliness.

I booked a single room, and I really liked it – it was very clean and had no strange odors. When I first checked in, the front desk gave me a bottle of Ice Dew mineral water. I was happy with my stay, so I extended it for another night through the platform. However, when I went to the front desk later that evening because I was thirsty and wanted another bottle of water, I was told that the complimentary water was only for the first day of check-in, and not for extended bookings. I jokingly asked, "So, if I had checked out at noon and then re-checked in, would I have gotten a bottle of mineral water?" The front desk attendant initially said, "If you put it that way, I'll give you one," but then refused, citing strict rules from the owner. I didn't push the issue; it felt unnecessary. I just bought a bottle of Ice Dew for 2 yuan and went upstairs. I found the whole situation a bit amusing, so I wanted to share it.

Exceeded my expectations, highly recommend it to everyone. It's very clean. I stayed in a six-bed dorm, but there were only three of us, and they prioritized giving us the bottom bunks.

The owner is very welcoming, and the hostel's decor was all personally designed and created by the owner, showing great care. It's also very clean, and you can even cook your own meals. It's a hostel with excellent value for money, plus there are cats to pet~

I visited Haikou with friends during the National Day holiday and met the hospitable and lovely landlady on the very first day. She treated us to drinks and delicious food. We all chatted and had a great time :D The landlady is beautiful and kind, and her sister is also very pretty and cheerful. Both are very talkative and knowledgeable. It was a fantastic stay! The rooms have private bathrooms, and the dorm beds have curtains for privacy. Everyone was warm and interesting, and I met some lovely fellow travelers. The location is also excellent. You can walk to Haida Night Market, and there are many restaurants offering delicious food and a wide variety of goods. Taxis are easy to catch, and if you walk a bit further from the entrance, there's a bus stop, making transportation very convenient. I highly recommend everyone to visit! The best Banana (referring to the hostel name)! It's a pity I didn't take many photos. So, I'll just show the character '好' (good) that I left behind while playing games with a cute little girl I met at Banana, and the delicious meal made by an amazing young lady from Chongqing, haha. Words can't fully express how wonderful Banana is; everyone should come and experience it for themselves!
