Had the best stay at this ryokan which is located near a bus stop and the Hakone-Yamamoto station (500m away), making it easy and convenient to get around. Love the onsen and the kaseiki dinner was sumptuous and delicious. Staff are very nice and helpful. Highly recommend

Great location, good overall experience, and high-quality food. The only downside is the small size of the hot tub, but it doesn't affect the overall enjoyment.

This ryokan is Hakone is absolutely amazing. The lady who owns the hotel is absolutely a star, you can absolutely feel she cares about her guests. The hotel offers common and private honsen (this one comes with a fee) which are an absolute must. The room is traditional Japanese style and the experience is unforgettable.

We had an amazing stay here! The staff were so welcoming and hospitable, answering all of our questions and helping with our bags. They also helped us with suggestions on what to do around Hakone. The onsen baths were perfect for both of us and the best thing at the end of a long day! 10/10 would love to stay here again. Thank you

This was a good place to stay: nice rooms, nice breakfast (I didn't have dinner), a central location that was still quiet, nice indoor hot spring. Somehow I never timed the outdoor hot spring right, which is disappointing. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Not a "luxury" experience, but a simple enjoyable one.

Lovely place. Some staff can speak English, some can't, but all of them were very friendly and helpful. Location is just 5 minutes walk from the main station and bus stop on the main street. The food was outstanding and stunning in presentation. The hot spring has indoor and outdoor areas. The room was spacious but can be super cold during winter (and there's no hot water system in the bathroom due to old facilities). But overall, best experience, would love to come back :)

There was wifi in the room, it was clean (the airconditioning was quite dusty though) and the location was quite close to the station. There is no private shower in our room, so all baths have to be taken in the communal onsen. There are two baths in the level one bath, and just one in the basement bath. Still, a very good experience and it was quite convenient for a two-night stay.

Located at the foot of the mountain, about a 10-minute walk from the JR station, it's more convenient than staying on the mountain! The inn is small, less crowded, and the onsen (hot spring) felt quite clean. Dinner and breakfast were also plentiful; highly recommended.

This was a rather disappointing onsen ryokan (hot spring inn). The experience was so poor that I didn't take many photos. It's a family-run guesthouse converted into a hotel. There's no elevator, and the stairs are incredibly narrow and steep. Large suitcases have to be carried up and down by the guests themselves. I forgot to add breakfast and dinner when I booked, but they refused when I tried to add them at check-in, saying they didn't have enough. The black coffee in the morning was plentiful; unlike the complimentary coffee in Japanese hotels, it had to be paid for here, and it was scalding hot and tasted terrible. The onsen area was also very cramped, and soaking in it with strangers was quite awkward. I strongly advise against booking this. Since you're making a trip to Hakone, it's better to treat yourself.

We checked in after 9 PM, and the hotel receptionist had someone help us with the check-in. The hotel's main onsen (hot spring) is closed until 10 PM, but we could still use the small underground bathroom next door afterwards. Although it's small, it was more than enough for the four of us, and the onsen water was excellent; we felt very comfortable afterward. The hotel room was also nice; it was spacious, next to a small river, and had a small balcony—I thought it was great. My friend said they'd stay here again next time. Note that in addition to the hotel room rate, there's an onsen tax in Hakone, payable for both overnight and non-overnight stays, calculated based on the room rate, but it's not expensive.

The location is convenient, there are multiple hot springs, and the rooms are spacious – I was very satisfied! There were some foreigners at the front desk, but they were very helpful and polite.

The rooms were clean, the service was good, and the hot springs offered rotating access to all the pools.
