Without question, Okcs Retreat Hakone Villa was the most gorgeous resort stay my wife and I have had in our lifetime. Stepping into the cabin was an otherworldly experience; the fresh smell of mixed pine and cedar throughout was marvelous and having the experience of enjoying private onsen provided us the calmness we were looking for after the hustle and bustle of both Tokyo and Kyoto. The experiences of staying with this resort accentuates and celebrates the landscape it surrounds, in tandem, inviting those who stay here a beautifully characteristic landscape of the rural Japanese mountains. The beauty of Hakone wouldn’t have felt as special without having stayed here. Thank you so very much for a wonderful and beautiful memories my wife and I can share indefinitely.

Never ever ever ever experienced anything like it. Please look at the photos of the hot springs indoor was real mountain spring water and the outdoor is regular water. We checked in waited hours for room to be ready than we got a chance hours later to check out the hot springs. We check out and got full refund and they drove us to another hotel we spent 1700 yen while waiting for the room and they insisted we pay it after all what went on.

If you want your stay in Hakone to look like a romantic Japanese travel ad, then this is the place for you. The villas are all different so I can only speak to villa 6, but it was right out of one of those glossy photo books you pick up at Kinokuniya. There is a wood-burning fire stove, a Bluetooth sound system, a high slanted ceiling over the bed with a cover that can be remotely controlled. The toilet and bathroom are up the stairs near the bathtub and shower room, which are picturesque and then lead to the small but cozy private outdoor onsen, shrouded by trees. I stayed in November and the foliage was gorgeous. On the grounds is a cafe/lounge and a restaurant. Or you can choose a nearby eatery and the staff will drive you there and pick you up afterwards in their van. The staff aren’t completely fluent in English but are very eager to be helpful and as polished and professional as befits a nice Japanese resort. If you’re looking to get away from Tokyo for a day or two or three, I highly recommend this lovely retreat. It’s possible to make some truly beautiful memories here.

Check in was done in the room itself, service staff was superb. even check out was done in the room. Villa had no TV but provided a great sound system to play your favorite music for max relaxation during your stay.

Unfortunately if you don't order dinner in the morning, you will not be able to dine at the hotel. This was not communicated to us in advance. After a long day of hiking, we were very tired but no exception could be made. We were very disappointed. Room service menue is absolutely limited with a focus on ham, so if you don't eat meat you cannot have dinner at the hotel. Other restaurants are not nearby the hotel. The experience was overall not as expected.

A beautiful setting amongst lovely hills and trees. The room was spacious for Japan standards as well as trendy and bright. Fresh white paint is needed on some of the walls. The cafe and bakery is lovely with free coffee which is a lovely touch. No dairy free milk which I found very disappointing. The breakfast was pretty limited with Western choices and coffees were served in paper cups which isn’t the way a morning coffee should be served (in my opinion). Definitely worth a stay, however, if you need a real relax.

Incredible hotel!! Deep in the Hakone mountains you instantly feel close to nature. We stayed in a private Villa - vs in the hotel - and it was incredible. Well designed, spacious, and built for relaxation with your own semi private onsen. If coming to Hakone to relax, this is a great place to stay. Local bus stop is also a 1 min walk from hotel property which made getting into town and doing some tourist site seeing super easy when we realized you have to call ahead of time to schedule taxis ( Vs instant taxis in Tokyo and kyoto). Would absolutely stay here again ,

Despite all the mediocre reviews I read which was 3 years back , decided to go ahead as the decor seemed to be something I liked. I would say by far one of my best hotel stay in Japan as the room is very Zen like or to some Muji style. Check in is very personal as they came to the car park to pick us up and check in was done in the room when they realized my mum has challenges walking. What I like about the place is that it is spacious and each room is very clean and nicely done up with no indication of bad paint peeling off which could be 3 years ago. There is also a cafe there which is to me another excellent point of the hotel given that the buffet breakfast is expensive and one can just have some bread at the cafe in the morning with free hot drinks . In fact the hot drinks are always free. The only complain I would have is that there is only one dinner option at the restaurant which is very expensive but overall a very good stay.

(Room) Stayed in a suite. When I first entered the room, it smelled musty and I felt the building was old.The sink was dark and the bathroom was also musty, so I didn't feel like going in.What bothered me was the shower nozzle on the washlet in the toilet. It was completely black with mold.It looked like it was clean, but when I was relaxing in the cafe, I wondered how long it had been cleaned since there were spider webs and dead insects left in every corner. (Meal) The restaurant had a delicious dinner and breakfast in a stylish glass-enclosed space. However, during breakfast, there were flies and flies flying around all the time, which was a problem. (Hot Spring) The hot spring itself was okay, but the changing rooms were narrow and facing each other. (Other facilities) Free Bird & Terrace was just a cluttered space (Overall Impressions) Considering the price of about 88,000 yen with the discount, I was very satisfied. The facilities were low-quality.Although the inn claims to offer an evolved resort style that is neither a traditional hot spring inn nor a hotel, everything felt half-baked.For this price, I would have been much more satisfied if I stayed at a Hoshino resort. I'm sure it's high quality, but I'd like it to be cleaned even if it's old.
