Very good experience overall.
Lake view is awesome. Service is great and people very nice and helpful.
Breakfast is good but a bit pricey. Products are fresh and very good but for the price I was expected a bit more choice and quantities.

Excellent accommodation and the location is to die for if MtFuji and the lake is what you’re looking for. A very quiet area in the morning and at night when the tour buses are gone.
For those looking to book, here are a few tips we found out to help you out. There’s no receptionist so you will have to figure out how to get in so do not walk on the street side but walk over to the lake side and enter. Otherwise if you enter from the street side, the first pin pad you see is the wrong one. If it’s in front of the door marked “private” then the door code won’t work. Walk around to the front and look for glass doors. That’s where you can enter your door code.
The onsen water is extremely hot. Maybe that’s how onsen works but I couldn’t stay for more than 5 minutes as I got dizzy. The loft area is low ceilings but my kids loved sleeping there. However the food here isn’t great so plan accordingly. The 7-11 close by has great snacks.
If I ever return to Hakone I would stay here again.

The room is very warm, very typical Japanese hotel, the baby super likes the chairs of tatami and refreshment table
Breakfast is a must, the color and fragrance are complete, the dishes are rich, and the drinks have been on several rounds. Although we are not dining in the room, we are a family in a separate dining room, a very unique experience.
The private soup is also great and comfortable.
The hotel is situated within walking distance of the Hakone Shrine and the Sea Thief Ship Pier.
Note! Check in before 6 pm as much as possible. The hotel is on a small hillside, surrounded by woods. It is still a bit scary to have no lights at night, and this uphill is really huge! Friends with a lot of luggage or inconvenient legs must arrive early after seven eleven711, contact the staff to pick you up

GGuest UserA very exquisite hot spring hotel, a typical one night two meals, dinner is a relatively simple and compact Kaiseki cuisine, breakfast is a set meal, both are diverse, fresh ingredients, and exquisite workmanship. The hotel is reasonably priced and located in Sengokuhara, a distance from Yumoto and Gora, so it wins with service.
Facilities: The rooms are fully equipped. Especially the decoration of the hotel and the paintings distributed throughout the hotel are very stylish, and it is said that they come from a painter who is considered to have a certain influence.
Environment: The hotel is very close to the Pola Museum and the Glass Forest Museum. However, there are not many mountain climbing buses, and it is quite tiring to walk.
Xxy.fftThe service was really good, we had to drive from Tokyo so it took a while and we were kinda delayed by traffic for a bit due to it being one lane. Our hosts are really kind and help with parking our cars and bringing us our luggages. Although we thought it was advertised as a hotel, it's actually a ryokan. Really apologetic for the inconvenience from us during our stay there, we checked in late and even came back late during one of the night - resulting in us missing dinner service (they even set up and left some food for us). We also wanted to leave for the convenience store close to midnight, only to find out that the doors are all shut, we didn't want to make them do extra work so we went back to our rooms.
The rooms are great and the views are so beautiful, it's amazing to wake up to such greenery / mountain view. Breakfast and dinner service will be in the rooms and the staff will help us lay and keep our futons as well. I had the chance to soak in one of the private baths, it was really relaxing and nice, warms me right up since it was around 10 degrees in the autumn. Amenities provided are very adequate as well, even in the baths (public/private). Besides all that, there's a lounge area with massage chairs, it was the best thing ever, highly recommend to try it during your stay.
It's more convenient if you drive, there are convenience stores are few mins drive away. The entrance from the road is a really sharp bend so you need to take note in case you missed it. Plenty of parking space as well, wouldn't be a concern during your stay. Shoes are removed right at the lobby and kept by the staffs, very homely vibes.
Overall a pleasant stay with them and would love for more people to experience what I've experienced. Thank you to all staff and hosts who made it possible. If there's a chance, I'd love to visit again.
AAnonymous UserI had a very nice and decent experience staying at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel. Not only was it near the Yumoto station, it was also with numerous choices of restaurants where you could enjoy lunches / dinners. It was particular meaningful to me as you can rarely see restaurants opened outside after 6pm, and i was super hungry at that time. But it’s better to reserve earlier if you decide to have dinner inside the hotel.
The room was clean, though not spacious enough (but it’s very common in Japan). The onsen was also nice which opened until 1am at night. Overall, it was a great experience.
GGuest UserThe review said that it smelled like soy sauce when you got off the elevator, but I guess it was because they brought the food to the room.
I was worried about the smell because they said it was a smoking room, but it didn't smell.
The best part was the blanket that looked like a melon bread, and I slept really well.
The food was good, but the sukiyaki (shabu-shabu) was made with pork, so it was unfamiliar, and I left it.
It was awkward and embarrassing to bring the food to the room, lay out the blanket, and clean it up.
My daughter and I went to the private hot spring, but it was dark and quiet, so we came back after 30 minutes because we were scared. If you are easily scared, try to use it when it's not too hot.
It was good for experiencing Japanese hot spring ryokan culture.
GGuest UserBest hotel during my stay in Tokyo
Hot spring is nice
Drink is free to drink and even beer
The environment is good and nice too
Highly recommend and hope I can come again next time
SStephen LmfSpacious and clean room, with welcoming service!
We drove to Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora by ourselves arriving rather late in the evening, but still we were warmly greeted by their staff, who followed us to the car park and helped us take our luggages. Check in was smooth and we were in our room in no time! We asked the staff if there was any restaurant nearby and they printed out pages of different selections around the area! Since it was getting late, we didn't bother to go out for dinner, so we gave the hotel's restaurant a try, which quality took us by surprise! Dinner was pretty close to a fine dining experience, with good quality food and fair price - highly recommend. Breakfast was at the same restaurant and buffet style! Yum!
The room was clean and spacious, however, the onsen was semi open and we were a bit worried people outside may see us. There won't be people walking right outside, but still fairly close to the gas station/ convenience store across the street - may have to put in consideration on which room type you'd choose.
GGuest UserThe location is excellent, just 3 - 5 minutes' walk from the train station, making travel easy.
However, facilities were so-so. The in-room bath had water stains, so we didn't use it.
Dining was underwhelming, like a basic tour package, lacking quality.
Value for money was poor, perhaps due to peak season and location. Overall, it has potential but needs improvement.
KkitekidThe exterior is in the style of a simple European manor, and the interior should have been renovated in recent years. The key is a traditional key with a long plexiglass room card, which is very impressive.
There is a natural hot spring private bath, where you can enjoy the view on the hillside. There are massage chairs, TVs, etc. in the bathing and changing lounge area for you to rest and cool down before returning to the room. The service is very considerate.
The breakfast is a Western set meal, which is exquisite and can be eaten as a breakfast. The restaurant faces the hillside and the scenery is invincible.
We arrived very late, and the front desk was also very friendly.
The front desk was also very friendly during the day, and they responded to every request. Luggage can be stored.
The bed and tatami are very good, and the quilt is a duck down quilt, which makes you sleep very comfortably at night.
The disadvantage is that you have to climb a slope to leave ”Gora”. There is a car to pick you up at 18:00 in the evening, so you can only climb if it's late. It's closer to ”Park Shang” and there is not such a big slope, but there is still a car at 22:00 on the mountain climbing line to ”Gora”, and there seems to be no car at 18:00 on the traction railway to ”Park Shang”. If you go late, you can only climb or take a taxi. We checked in late, so we only enjoyed the service of being sent to Gora after checking out.
GGuest UserWe got to the hotel in the beautiful location just before 3pm and we got given a little tour of the place and then got shown to our room. The staff are very friendly and do their best to speak English. A lovely lady was in charge of our hospitality throughout our stay and she first showed us that there is a public hot spring and a private hot spring and asked us if we would like to book a time to use the private hot spring, we booked a time as we checked in but then we didn’t use it as we were happy with our private hot spring in the room. We also booked a time for dinner and they arrived at that time
Promptly with A LOT of food. We also got a choice for a staple food and we chose some steak which was high quality and delicious, as well as the lobster (on the menu it said grilled prawn but a lobster is what came and it was delicious). We ordered a few beers and a bottle of wine with room service and it always came quickly and was nice and cold.
The private hot spring is absolutely boiling but it’s a good experience and there’s ice water provided which helps.
Breakfast came at 8.30am and it was also huge! It didn’t come with coffee but I ordered some and that was easy enough.
The lady who served our food explained every dish and how to eat it and she was always extremely friendly and attentive.
Would recommend!
GGuest UserThis was a luxurious stay for us. The room was large and very comfortable, the private bath was wonderful, the buffet breakfast was delicious (and offers a variety for vegetarians); in fact, it was our favorite part of our trip and we wish we could have stayed longer. The downside is the hotel dinner is expensive and not suitable for vegetarians, so the hike down the hill daily for meals (and then back up it) was a bit tiresome. Definitely book the free shuttle service to and from the hotel especially if you have luggage, the “hill” it is on is in fact several steep inclines that are difficult for those less than moderately fit. Another highlight was the hotel’s commitment to honoring the UN SDGs and striving to reduce plastic waste. There’s absolutely no reason in this day and age for people not to travel with their own toothbrush and combs. If you happen to need such amenities, they are available for nominal fees, barely worth complaining over, as many reviews did. This hotel may be pricey, but it’s so worth it, and they’re doing some good for the earth, so the stay comes with more feel good feelings. We are already planning our next stay here.
