Reviews of Hakuba Highland Hotel

The rooms are a bit old, but still comfortable for sleeping. The air conditioning works great. Breakfast isn't extensive, but everything is delicious. There are many onsen options, including both public and private baths. The outdoor public bath lives up to the reviews with a great view; it's spacious and large, offering clear views of the Japanese Alps. However, the private bath is more relaxing (it costs extra and requires a reservation with the hotel). It's advisable to have a car for transportation as it's quite far from the train station.

This is a great place to stay! The view from the accommodation is absolutely stunning, and it's super convenient to get around. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Hakuba.

Good place to stay for snowboarding in hakuba

I was able to relax and warm up thoroughly in the onsen (hot spring bath) while enjoying the view of the Hakuba mountain range. Both breakfast and dinner were served buffet style, and all the food was delicious.

Great location with beautiful views. There are two onsen baths available. We booked a stay with meals included, which were delicious and clean. The hotel is a bit old, but overall it's good.

Room is quite old but clean. There were dinner and breakfast dinner included which were authentic japanese food. We love spending time here. The view was so stunning.

Public bath broke down - hot water not hire enough .  This is winter . In the room , the hot water from the tap water is not hot enough . It takes a long time for the water to become hot .  Room is very cold

No lunch but good onsen

You absolutely must book a room with a view of the snow-capped mountains. Waking up in the morning to a view of a snow-capped mountain from your window is amazing! The hotel has two hot spring areas. Many locals stay there. The restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows also face the snow-capped mountains. The buffet dinner is great value for money.

The location is a bit out of the way, but it's actually very close to Hakuba Station, less than a 2-minute drive. If you're driving, it's no problem. The parking lot is also quite large for Hakuba, so you don't need to worry about finding a spot when you get back. I've stayed at many hotels in Hakuba, and even with parking lots, they're often full. For independent travelers, it's a bit more inconvenient; you need to take the hotel shuttle bus to get there easily. The hotel staff are very friendly, and the rooms are very clean and well-equipped, especially the bathroom, which was spotless and brand new – fantastic! There was already a pitcher of ice water in the refrigerator upon check-in, which was incredibly refreshing in the summer heat! If you don't have to have your room cleaned daily, you can get a ¥1000 coupon, which can be used for shopping at the hotel!
