Reviews of Hakuba Mominoki Hotel

My trip was very disappointing this time, and the hotel's service was terrible. One of the amenities they offer is a shuttle service for guests to and from the JR train station. On June 26th at 3 PM, I took their shuttle to the JR station. I had a reservation for them to pick me up from the same JR station at 5 PM. However, by 5:17 PM, their hotel shuttle still hadn't appeared. I called the hotel to inquire, and they told me it was a human error and they hadn't arranged a shuttle. I was extremely angry at the time. It's not even peak season, and they don't have many guests, yet they still managed to overlook my booking. This is truly unacceptable. They didn't offer any compensation whatsoever. Absolutely unacceptable.

Maybe it was the off-season, but the hotel upgraded our room, which was great! There are no restaurants nearby, so we opted for the hotel's buffet dinner. The variety of food was decent, but the taste was just so-so. The hot spring, however, was excellent!

I stayed here alone and really enjoyed my trip. The whole hotel had a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere, allowing me to relax and unwind surrounded by Hakuba's nature. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The hot spring bath was fantastic, perfect for soothing my tired body after a day of sightseeing. The staff were consistently polite and attentive, which made my stay even more pleasant. Breakfast offered a great variety, including local ingredients, leaving me feeling satisfied every morning. The hotel's quiet surroundings were lovely for walks, and its location, immersed in Hakuba's natural beauty, was a real highlight. It's also a convenient base for exploring. I would definitely want to stay here again if I visit Hakuba in the future.

Stayed late June to see the stunning Itawake view. No skiing, just soaking in Hakuba’s nature. Hotel was peaceful, surrounded by trees — perfect for relaxing walks. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Room was clean, a bit small for what we booked. Breakfast was okay, mix of Japanese and Western. The onsen was the real highlight — so refreshing after a day out. Even without snow, Mominoki was a great base. Cozy, quiet, and welcoming. Would stay again.

What an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel. Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself. We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet. In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies. Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

It is a very nice hotel and breakfast is very good also the hotel have a nice Onsen.

The hotel offers a tranquil atmosphere surrounded by nature, allowing you to relax and feel like you're away from everyday life. The interior has a warm and inviting design, and the guest rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff were attentive and their thoughtful service left a lasting impression. The hot spring bath is spacious, allowing you to fully unwind after a long day of travel. It's a hotel where you can fully enjoy the charm of Hakuba, and I would love to visit again.

Hakuba isn't very big; the town area is just a few streets. The hotel is on a small hill, and there are several other hotels nearby, which provide the lighting for the entire hill. There are no convenience stores nearby. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms, which I chose. The downside is that you have to make your own bed, which might be too much for older people. There were many elderly people and foreign tourists. I even saw an elderly Japanese person jumping into the hot spring without showering—a first for me in Japan.

The facilities were very clean and luxurious, and I was extremely satisfied. The dinner and breakfast buffets had a wide variety of delicious options, and I would like to go again. I was very satisfied.

I am very satisfied with this hotel, the location is great, the staff is friendly and the room is comfortable. The room was very comfortable in terms of lighting, temperature and bedding. I would especially like to praise the housekeeping sister for keeping the room very clean. The room has two terraces, one of which overlooks the Happo-One Ski Resort. We stayed for six nights and the breakfast food was roughly the same every day, but also rich. We had dinner at different restaurants in the hotel on three nights. On the first night, we had a buffet dinner in the hotel with a wide variety of food. On the second night, we had Western food at The Forest next to the hotel. On the third night, we had Japanese food at The Forest next to the hotel. The prices in all three restaurants were not expensive but the food was delicious. The Dry Room for ski equipment is outside the hotel. It is a real drying room with a machine for drying snowshoes. It is not the so-called Dry Room in some hotels which is actually just a Locker room.

The experience was very good, especially the service of the male waiter at the front desk (didn't remember his name), which was very heartwarming. After checking out, we needed to take a taxi to another B&B, but because it happened to be the weekend and the birthday of the king, and it was snowing all the time, the entire Hakuba car resources were in short supply. It was this waiter who insisted on calling and booking a taxi for us, and finally someone took the order. And he took the initiative to say that it was not easy for us to bring children, and he would definitely try his best to help us call a car. The environment is also first-class, you can see the romantic snow scenery outside the window, and the water flowing down from the Albis Mountains is too gentle (you must experience it when taking a bath). It is close to the Happo-Ogen Ski Resort, and you can walk there in five minutes. See you next time!
