It is lovely to stay in Old Post Office, Halifax. The location is very close to the railway station and Woolshops Shopping Center, also the Halifax Bus Station and Sainsbury's. They are very warm and helpful. I will come again as I come to visit Halifax again!

The hotel is ideally situated in walking distance to most shops and the town centre. It is not flashy and areas of the hotel are a little outdated but it was ideal for what I needed whilst visiting Halifax. The bed was comfy and the staff are super friendly! I instantly felt welcome and very comfortable to ask for assistance if I needed it. I would stay at The Old Post Office again. Top tip: if you are a solo traveler and rooms are not showing as available, then phone The Old Post Office directly. I was told the rates are £48 per night for solo travelers.

Stayed one night as a single traveler for a work event. I had a small attic room which was nice and clean with a small sink, towel.soap bottles, tea/coffee and a small TV. Bathroom is shared but not a big problem. The hostess (Jackie) and staff in the pub are super nice and friendly and nothing seems a problem to them and are very approachable. It’s a great location for the train station and town centre. If you have a person who struggles with stairs this is probably not the one for you(no lifts),but if you like a friendly place with great beers on hand at a very good price, I would highly recommend this.

My Husband and l booked a Disabled room. Our money was taken on arrival, £178 for 2 nights before even seeing the room. My Husband is a Wheelchair user, after getting him into his chair and getting all our bags and clothes for a family members funeral the next day l was appalled at the state of the room. The very friendly manageress who showed us the room, was asked what about breakfast - "Oh we don't serve food!" was her response "There's a cafe half a mile up the road near the Shay that serves good breakfast!" The sign outside clearly stating Bed & Breakfast and a dining room is clearly shown on the booking sites. The room was clearly very tired and in need of a good clean. Mirror totally covered in dirt. On opening the bathroom door l was very nearly ill. The state of the bathroom was a disgrace. It had not even been cleaned. The scum and previous persons skin was all over the shower floor, you wouldn't want to go in there even with wellies on. If It had not been such a struggle to get to the room with all our belongings and it pouring of rain we would not have stayed in the place even the 1 night. I was so disappointed and upset l cried. The TV remote was stuck to the unit theTV stood on, due to the black sticky tape holding the batteries in place. The TV was unwatchable due to pixelating on every single channel. Only one wall light out of two working. The next day l handed the keys back to the magageress and she knew it was a mess before we even went in there. We did get £79 back for the second night. The bed was actually very comfortable but didn't sleep. The walls are stud walls and you can hear every sound. The gent upstairs had his TV blaring out all night and what with his coughing, sleep was impossible, he finally switched the TV off at 0700 probably when he got up for work. Sadly we were prevented from staying with friends at the Wake after the funeral due to not staying for another night as initially planned - now having three hour drive home. The whole experience was a complete nightmare.

We had room 3 for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding in the area. We arrived about 8pm on Friday night to a friendly manager who checked us in. The room was basic. There were no bedside tables or full-length mirror, which would have been useful. The floors were the original floor boards, and they were very noisy/creaky. No bathroom cabinet or shelf for your toiletries. The shower was small but effective. Bath towels were small. Bed linen was a grey colour and didn't look inviting. Kettle and tea/coffee were provided. Overall, the place looks grubby but is clean Shower gel and a 2in1 shampoo/conditioner were provided. Great location as easy walk into centre for bars and restaurants. If you just want a bed to rest your head, then this place does the job.

The only slightly disconcerting thing was all the signs saying don't do ***** in the hotel... but it was a lovely, quiet, well appointed room. The Manager was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
