Jameson Inn-Oakwood

In all my years of travel, this is the WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was smelly and dirty, the bed linens were dirty, and the towels were a mess. The whole room looked like a maintenance nightmare. The only positive thing I can say is that the room was quiet.

This place needs to be shut down and condemned!! I have stayed at other Jameson hotels, and they were great, so I never gave a thought to booking here. First, the property: total disrepair! Holes in the walls and ceilings. Paint splashed on the carpets, and bedding. The deadbolt was torn out of the wall, as it appeared the door had been kicked in and not repaired. Broken electrical sockets. Stained sheets, box spring and mattress. A crusty white substance dried on the tv screen and white powder on the chair and carpets. The room smelled like stale cigarettes and aftershave. The manager was so kind as to provide me with a can of Lysol, at no extra charge.... Then the cockroaches! big ones, small ones, everywhere! On the nightstands, the walls, the tub, and yes, even the bed. (I have photos it won't let me add them, says files too big) Criminal activities everywhere! We felt so UNSAFE, we called local law enforcement. When they arrived, they told us they were "very familiar" with this hotel, and we should find another hotel as we were not safe here. They provided us with extra patrols for the night.

The location of Jameson INnn was great for us, however, if it wasn't prepaid, non-refundable, I would have walked out immediately. The room was DIRTY. The toilet was dirty, the beds were very sloppily made iwth old worn out sheets, holes int he sheets and prickley bumps all over them. The bedspreads both had holes in them! The pillows were flat, foam that was probably 20 years old. The walls were dirty,needs paint badly. The door for exit was so dirty I didn't want to touch it! It was a painted white door with dirt and sticky spots ...just disgusting! Don't go here if you like clean. Plus, there were people hanging out next door, making noise and smoking. If I opened the door, the smoke came in our room. The a/c worked fine. I ask for disinfectant from front desk and sanitized things. Had an awful night, lumpy bed...will NEVER go there again! The desk clerk was friendly and tried to be helpful. (but what's he going to do!!) He did bring us better pillows. And, the towels were clean/white/new.
