Was really looking forward to visiting this property as the setting seemed (and is) pretty special with kangaroos and emus roaming the grounds. However, our first impressions were poor and as a result we never felt comfortable there and left a day early. We arrived mid afternoon but reception was closed and we found our lodge key pinned to a board at the front door. Immediately inside the front door is a large lounge/kitchen/dining area but it all just looked tired and in need of some sprucing up. In particular the 2 black leatherette sofas were badly worn and quite scuffed. One had stuffing coming out of a cushion. The kitchen was quite well equipped but seemed to be endowed with notices of the "do this or we'll charge you " variety (see photos) so it all just felt a bit cold and unfriendly and out of date. The bedrooms had decent bedding and the property was pretty clean with one exception- the previous guests/housekeeping had forgotten to clean grease from the hob. Also a large set of keys had been left in a bedroom. We ended leaving a day early and there was also no-one to talk to at 0845 when we departed, so we didn't see any staff member while we were there. I did get a text message from the owner later that day after she'd realised we'd left early asking if we were ok and to be fair I understand there was a good reason why she wasn't there to check us in personally but I don't think even a warm welcome would have lifted the place to a 5* review given some of the other issues

My wife and I stayed in the new Hideaway Villa for 3 nights during our recent holiday in Grampians. This was our third stay in Halls Gap Valley Lodges. Our previous two stays were in the older Lodges, before the Villa was built. The new Villa is very spacious, secluded and luxurious. We enjoyed our comfortable stay here and will return again in future. During our stay, we saw many Kangaroos, Emus, Deers, rabbits and Cockatoos. This is one of the attractions of staying here and why we return to this place. The spa bath is excellent after a day of hiking.

Best hotel ever stayed, can easily see wild animals just outside of hotel, like lots of Kangaroos, emus, parrots and even deers, saw Kangaroos through room window which is fantastic experience. Hotel stuff was very friendly, room was clean, big and cozy, facilities were decent, and the location was perfect for us, quiet but not too far from the town.

What an absolute gem of a place. Starting with the hosts, Jenny and Mark, very friendly and could not be more helpful with all aspects of our stay. Set back from the road far enough not to hear any traffic. Enjoyed super comfy beds, awesome showers, and a great fireplace. Neat and tidy area with an abundance of wildlife, kangaroos, emus, deer and birds. Very relaxing, quiet and peaceful.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Halls Gap Valley Lodges. The cabins were very comfortable and our hosts very helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay there. Lots of bird song to wake up to in the morning and other wildlife such as kangaroos and emus to watch.Beautiful views looking towards The Grampians from our cabin. A reconnect to Nature.

Our family booked 4 of the lodges again as we had also been there in 2022. The stay was excellent and the grandkids absolutely enjoyed it as they got to ride their bikes around the grounds which they wouldn't have been able to do at any of the other places in Halls Gap. It is short distance by bike to Halls Gap and in the other direction south to the Reservoir on the bike paths. I took my mountain bike and headed across the road through the cleared bush areas to the Boronia track (below Boronia Peak) past Halls Gap and had a fantastic ride passing herds of deer but did have to haul the bike over some fallen trees. We will definitely go back and stay there again as it does not feel as cramped as staying inside the Halls Gap township. The restaurant at the motel next door also made it an experience with their huge meals at a reasonable price for families

Second time we have had the pleasure to stay here and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the Grampians. The cabins are massive and feel like a home away from home. The views from the cabins are epic and everyday we had different wildlife right out side our window, which the little one enjoyed! Definitely recommend staying here when visiting halls gap and surrounds.

We stayed in the Hideaway Villa which was an excellent choice, very private. Facilities were all very good - 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Wonderful scenery and wildlife - good fun watching and photographing the kangaroos and their little joeys learning how to use their legs. Although there is no restaurant at the Valley Lodges, the View Restaurant next door fufilled our needs. We definitely recommend this as a great place to stay and we will be back again ourselves. Thanks to Jenny and Mark for warm greetings and many thanks for returning an item we left behind to us so quickly - very much appreciated. Edward and Maureen

It was a spontaneous decision to stay at Halls Gap Valley Spa Lodges, however proved to be a fantastic choice! A quick search online showed a vacancy with very reasonable pricing. At Reception, Jenny, one of the owners, provided a warm and cheerful welcome. There was an extensive range of board games which guests could borrow. We availed ourselves of two (Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit) and they proved to be great evening entertainment away from electronic media. That said there was good wifi at the unit. The lodge was clean and incredibly well equipped with full kitchen, pots & pans, toaster, sandwich press, crockery and utensils. A gas stove, oven and full sized refrigerator made the kitchen complete. We ate out the first night then enjoyed a “home” cooked meal the next. There was a full dining table, very comfy leather lounge seating and wall television all in a warm space thanks to the effective reverse cycle air conditioning. Beds were comfortable and had electric blankets though these weren’t required as the radiant oil heaters in the bedrooms made the rooms cosy. The bathroom featured a spa tub with overhead shower offering the choice of a quick wash or long warm soak. A fire pit at each unit lodge made for pleasant evenings outdoors. I was very impressed with the lodge set up, and the absolutely stunning views from the valley location. Kangaroos, an emu and cockatoos were delightful free ranging locals which added to the peaceful setting. As said initially, it was a spontaneous decision to stay here though proved to be an outstanding choice. Fully recommended!
