Pleasant stay in Heritage Hotel. Perfect location. The room is big and spacious. The bed is big and comfortable. Breakfast is really good as well. The staff at the reception is really nice and welcoming. Room assigned is on 4th floor, which we could hear footsteps from the room above us at 6 am in the morning. Request for a room on the top floor, 6th floor, if you're a light sleeper like us. The restaurant is really good. We went there for dinner twice during our 3 nights stay in Heritage Hotel. The soup was really good. We ordered the char grilled salmon with pumpkin risotto, really delicious 😋

I wish we could have stayed longer! I will absolutely be back. This darling mountain getaway is like nowhere I've ever been. From the moment I walked in I felt full of peaceful energy. Incredible detail has been put into the service and ambiance of luxury. The tranquil hideaway vibe is definitely on-point! We were on a cycling trip and arrived on bicycles. This hotel was the perfect treat to have a quick unwind during our adventure. We stayed in the mountain view rooms... WOW. I'll include pics of our panoramic mountain views! When I come back I'll stay longer to read books amongst the calm, find inspiration for writing, meditate, breathe in the luxury, hike the trails. So many attributes make this a luxury boutique hideaway. I need some self care and want to feel that peaceful energy again. The food was outstanding. They are vegan-friendly... We are not vegan and the staff prepared the most delicious beef goulash. Breakfast was above and beyond what we imagined... They cooked eggs for us made-to-order, brought us plates of fresh vegetables, sliced fruit, croissants, breads, gourmet butter, cappuccinos... I could go on and on. An sich ein ganz schönes Hotel mit nettem Personal. An der Rezeptions dauert der Check-In usw. irgendwie ganz schön lange. Beim Skilift ist man schnell, nur einen Busstop weg. Leider doch eher Massenabfertigung beim Buffet. Abendessen war ”naja”. Suppe und Salat lecker, dei Hauptspeise eher Kantinenessen - das hat leider Buffet so an sich. Das Frühstück ist schön reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich. Für die Größe des Hotels ist der Wellnessbereich eher klein geraten. 2 Saunen, das ist ok, aber leider recht wenig Liegen und auch nicht abgetrennt von den Duschen. Also so richtig entspannen kann man eher auf dem Zimmer. Wir hatten nachts einen fehlerhaften Feueralarm und standen nacht um halb 2 im Schlafanzug bei frostigen Temperaturen draußen. Leider gab es auch auf Nachfrage kein Entgegenkommen des Hotels. Wenigstens die 20€ Getränke hätten sie uns kulanterweise erlassen können. Klar, wahrscheinlich kann das Hotel nichts dafür, aber wir auch nicht und das hat uns schon geärgert. Wir kommen nicht wieder. ------ In itself a nice, modern hotel with friendly staff. At the reception, the check-in etc. somehow takes quite a long time. Your fast at the ski lift, just a bus stop away. For the size of the hotel, the wellness area is on the small side. 2 saunas, that's ok, but unfortunately very few loungers and not separated from the showers. Unfortunately, it was more of a mass processing at the buffet. Dinner was ok. Soup and salad were delicious, the main course was more like canteen food - unfortunately that's what the buffet is all about. The breakfast is rich and varied. We had a faulty fire alarm at night and stood outside at half past one in our pyjamas in freezing temperatures. Unfortunately, there was no accommodation from the hotel when asked. At least they could have waived the €20 drinks as a gesture of goodwill. Sure, it's probably not the hotel's fault, but neither can we and that annoyed us. We won't be back.

Me and my brother stayed at the end of June for 2 nights half board. The hotel itself smelt really clean and very fresh. The rooms were clean but much smaller than expected. We asked for two single beds but we received a double room. The food was pretty tasteless and not a very big variety. I did end up going hungry. There is a nice pathway from the garden into Bad Aussee. It is a very steep climb back up though. Our first night staying here at Midnight a coach load of kids turned up having a party in the car park. They were not staying at the hotel but kept us up till 2am. This was a very disturbed night. The staff were not very friendly. It did seem to be an inconvenience to be working for them. The sauna we didn’t bother using as you would have to wait 30 minutes for it to warm up. You still have to pay in your total which was not aware to us until paying in person even if you don’t wish to use it. If you are staying on one of the top floors it can be very difficult taking all your luggage upstairs as there is no lift. The toilets in our bedrooms didn’t flush properly and there was constant trickling sound of water all night. If you would like to play table pool it is 2 Euros a game. There are 2 rooms to eat Breakfast/Dinner. All the guests were shut out of the 2nd room with the big windows with the nice views. We weren’t sure why. Minimal parking as they like to leave the car park for the coaches who come in and out. We probably wouldn’t choose this hotel if we were staying in the area again. Please don’t compare this review to JUFA hotel Grundlsee. I would travel 5 miles just to stay in the hotel if visiting Bad Aussee.

The hotel facilities and environment are very good. I came with my parents in their 80s. I was surprised that there was an elevator here. The cockroaches are all located on the half floor. It’s strange to come out and climb half stairs again. Before leaving, I asked me to pay another 39 euros for each room cleaning, and I asked why, saying that this is an apartment and needs cleaning the kitchen. I said I stayed overnight and didn't use the kitchen at all. I guess because I came from Vienna and I am fluent in German, so I am exempt. After reading the previous comments, many people have encountered this problem, so people who want to book still have to consider it. This hotel is suitable for staying for a few more days, just by the lake, the environment is super beautiful, the room is large, and it is next to the Shaf Mountain climbing train, there are also Chinese restaurant pizza shops nearby, so staying for a few more days, this cleaning fee is still worth it.

When I was considering to book a room in this hotel, I was in doubt about it because of some negative reviews that I read. Nevertheless, I decided to book even so, and my experience there was GREAT. I, respectfully, think that many negative comments here are unfair, as I’m going to explain while I give my perceptions about the hotel. Overview: Obertraun is a small city (approx. 800 people). The hotel is in front of the lake with a wonderful view. It provides a very helpful free bus pass to the region (Hallstatt etc). The owner is very helpful and kind. It’s a family business run with much care and respect for the guest. Check in: excellent. The time for check in is between 15:00-19:00. The management of the hotel emailed me telling me this and asking me to tell in advance if I would arrive after 19:00 because they would put the keys in a place where I could pick it. I arrived early, and I saw in the entrance of the hotel a key locker where the late guests can just put a code and pick the key. Moreover, when I booked the room in Expedia, there was also a warning about the time to check in. Therefore, it’s just a matter of the guest pay attention and contact in advance. Mr. Meinrad was very kind and attentive in the check in. Staff: I really don’t understand those who complained. The owner of the hotel is extremely kind and helpful. He was always very patient to help to advise the best places to go in the area. His wife was also very kind. It’s very clear how much they care for the hotel and do their best to receive well the guests. I think that guests also need to analyses themselves before complaining about small things and make a storm in a teacup. Location: the hotel is located in Obertraun which is a neighbor city of Hallstatt. It’s very easy to go to Hallstatt from there, and the hotel provides you free public transport in the region (bus). It is also located in front of the lake and the view is gorgeous! Bear in mind that Obertraun has approximately 800 inhabitants, so don’t go expecting to have a coffee in Starbucks etc. Even though, once again, Mr. Meinrad, very kindly, offered to prepare a coffee in the evening while he was there. There is a restaurant (I think the whole city only has two or three) near the hotel. Breakfast: with all do respect, I think some guests when travel become “breakfast Master chefs”. I always say, is the breakfast better or worst compared to the one that you have in your house? The breakfast was good! Juice, coffee, cappuccino, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt etc. If you want to have a five stars Michelin breakfast you need to be willing to pay for that. In this sense, I didn’t have any problem with the breakfast and the restaurant also has a great view of the lake and the mountains. Room: I stayed in a room with a view to the lake. I read that some other for single doesn’t have private bathroom, but it is told on the website. In my case, the room was cozy, and I liked the bed as well. The bathroom had everything ne

Although the price is relatively high in the ski season, the swimming pool is not open, and the restaurant is not open. The whole hotel only serves three kinds of supermarket bread. There is nothing in the middle of the mountain with no shops in front of the village. By the way, there is no one after staying for three days. Cleaning, not even a toothbrush and slippers, a pair of thin paper-like slippers cost 3 euros, the shuttle bus to the town only runs every hour, and there are residents quarreling in the middle of the night, throwing all the chairs on the balcony into the garden Here..., will not go again, disappointed!

Only 6-7mins walk from the train station. Surrounded by the restaurants and cafes. Toilet and bedroom are clean. Only things to complain is the water pressure and no personal locker in room.

Clean and new. We had a one-bedroom apartment. Very spacious. Kitchen was well-equipped. Heated bathroom. Underground garage. A very comfortable stay. Point to note is that this accommodation has no human being for check in, check out and if you need any help, there is no one. Check in is done through a phone app. You will need (roaming) data, otherwise you cannot open the door. And if you need to call their hotline for help, you will be using international calling (depending on where you come from). As long as you are comfortable with this kind of arrangement, this accommodation is 10/10. I will stay again. As with all apartments, there is no service and you will be expected to sort your rubbish and dispose them at the bin center. Bad Goisern itself has nothing. We used this accommodation as a base for the surrounding area. The apartment is within walking distance to an Italian restaurant and a supermarket.
