Dormio Resort Obertraun

Very nice resort with spacious compound, and very convenient. We took a boat from the resort to Hallstatt, 10 euro per person. From Hallstatt, there is a public bus taking us right to the bus stop in front of the resort. However, I was quite disappointed with the wrong information in trip.com regarding the rooms. Intially I wanted to book a chalet with 2 rooms as we are a group of 2 couples. When i made the booking, trip.com website stated that 1 room can fit in max 2 persons. So naturally i had to book 2 rooms. When i arrived that the resort i was shocked to find out that I was misled to pay for 2 chalets with 4 rooms! We didn't use the other chalet of course. It was totally unfair that because of the wrong information in trip.com, we have to pay for 2 other rooms that we didn't need at all. I am asking for compensation from trip.com regarding my loss and it's been 4 days and i am still waiting to hear from them for a solution.

Excellent resort, nice and cozy. But there is deposit 300€ which is a bit shock, usually other hotels 100€. But no worries it return back once check out. Overall nice we have nice stay here.

We had a nice and comfortable 3-bedroom house. Plenty of space inside. Small kitchen with all the basic necessities for our 2-night stay. We had breakfast at the house and the resort restaurant for dinner. Limited vegetarian options, although that was the case everywhere in Obertraun and Hallstatt. Happy, helpful staff. The shop stocked quite a lot of foods which was sufficient for us. The setting is beautiful and the kids’ playground was fantastic for the kids while we waited for dinner. Swimming pool is small - more of a fun splash rather than any serious swimming. Decent gym. Also had a table football (although could do with some maintenance). Weather was very hot when we were there and the house did get very hot. Needed to leave windows open all night to be able to sleep. It’s very close to Obertraun Dachstein station - very convenient. Buses to Hallstatt are hourly. Limited taxi options in the area.

I am presently staying here as I write this review. The location couldn't be any perfect, amazing place with great mountain and lakes. But over sold for the price and 4 stars is a bit pushing it. The resort does not meet standard at all. -Guest bathroom - very stain with human waste, was so bad I have it locked while I am here with my family. No hand soap for starter, until you buy yours. No STARTING KIT PROVIDED. -Rooms are spacious, small beds but was still comfortable. Dusty, spiderwebs all over and under the bed was vet dirty and nasty. -Bathroom big but very dirty, literally stained and you will need to lean it if you had kids before anyone uses it. -Sofa room big spacious but very stain sofa (very vey nasty I would sit on it). Dust and dirty every where, do not look under sofa, you will throw up :-(. I had to cover the sofa with the comforters so m babies sit there. -Dinner room, spacious but again dirty stain chairs, dirty under the table, dirty on the table. -Kitchen vey stained, but has all utilities and necessities for a long stay. - Terrence nice but sun parasol broken If you decide to stay, come fully ready to disinfect and clean before you lay down. Comforters clean, bed sheets only 1 had stain the rest very clean. Lots of flies when we arrived but I guess it is summer so a normal thing. Customer service was the worst. People seem to just be here for the money, they do not seem to be passionate, enjoying meeting the guest. I was even afraid to ask for help. You pay for everything, even the lockers in the pool area if you wanted to use it. When we leave our homes for a vacation, it is not to clean but rather relax and enjoy a home far away from home. I would come to Obertraun again but I would rather stay at a rental house or another resort if possible. During the Immaculate Conception celebrations, my family and I used the structure as a base to visit Hallstatt. I have to say we had a great time and were comfortable the entire time. Staff: helpful and attentive to customer needs. Home: clean and tidy, warm and welcoming, with an additional private sauna available. Location: fantastic for the view of the lake and for the convenience of reaching Hallstatt by public transport and, if desired, Salzburg by train. Price: reasonable and well-proportioned in relation to location, public transport and quality of services. Especially cheaper than in the center of Hallstatt. Highly recommended for a leisure trip with family and friends. Yolanda

We spent a wonderful few days in our cabin. There is everything you need inside that you can only wish for. We were worried that it would be cold, but the heater was very good. It was warm inside, and the shower was very hot. There is a small shop inside the hotel, and a bus stop nearby. In general, it is a good place to celebrate the new year in a picturesque place. The cleaning was a little disappointing, the room was a little dirty.

The hotel is located near Hallstatt, like 5 mins drive, room was well-equipped with kitchenette, the best part is the view around the hotel, it’s just so beautiful, would definitely stay here again, highly recommended!!!
