Beautifull hotel in the jungle.. Sea view is very Beautifull

The room is very private, surrounded by the sounds of small jungle animals. The thatched house is also very beautiful. Local drinks and snacks are prepared. The swimming pool in the backyard is amazing during the day. In the morning, when I went from the room to the public swimming pool, I passed by the jungle and monkeys jumped around. I saw a lot of big lizards and small lizards on the ground. The hotel's Safari navigator is very experienced and it is easy to find various animals in the national park.

Overall it's good, the room is super big, better than the room of Relais & Chateaux next door, but Relais & Chateaux is more popular. The food is great, the service is also good, and the coastline is very special. The only downside is that there are not many animals in Yala National Park, and the Safari experience is not very good. After all, the price difference between the hotel and the same type of hotel in Tanzania is not much, but the Safari experience is very different. But the hotel itself is still very good.

The room facilities and services are impeccable. When you check in, you will be provided with a corresponding national flag for a group photo, and the flag will be inserted on the wall of the front desk. It is very ceremonial, and you can see that there are quite a lot of Chinese people. The afternoon tea location is on the beach, and the snacks and cocktails are delicious. The laundry service is well received, which is much more practical than other fancy services. For dinner, my parents' original words: the best meal in Sri Lanka. The lobster is very fresh, and the chicken rolls are also made very carefully, with rich and layered flavors. We arranged to see the animals in the morning. The butler arranged it early in the morning. There were many people queuing, and the VIP channel was still much faster. A lot of snacks and drinks were also prepared. It was just that I was unlucky and didn't see many animals. Whether the chance of seeing is higher in the morning or in the afternoon, everyone has different opinions, so you can only keep a calm mind. I strongly want to complain that there is a section of the road into the hotel that is extremely bad. It takes a long time to drive a short section of the road. This section of the road is basically shared by the most expensive hotels. It would be better if it could be repaired.

Uga chena Huts What a fantastic place my wife and I stayed 3 nights and had the closest encounters with elephants and all the other animals in the national park. The staff were all so welcoming and made us feel at home with their big warm smiles. Thank you The food was some of the best food I have ever had and we come. From Melbourne where there’s a great food seen. Don’t miss staying at the wonderful place highly recommended and would definitely go back again.

Chena Huts is a truly magical place and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The hotel is set so discreetly in the lush vegetation that it is almost invisible. The staff are incredible - friendly, humble, respectful, attentive. From the moment we arrived they made us feel like the only guests at the hotel. The spacious rooms are beautiful and we spent many ours on our private deck enjoying our plunge pool and watching monkeys play around in the trees. The food was exceptional and chef Sanjeewa’s passion was evident in every plate at every meal. As foodies, it was a delightful experience to receive every beautifully plated meal. Better even was having dinner on the beach with the occasional interruption of an elephant or two. This combination of being surrounded by wildlife yet being at the beach is what makes Chena Huts so unique. Memories of evening sundowners on the beach will stay with us forever. The ‘African style’ daily safaris were just the best experience. Never did I imagine to have an ‘African safari’ on a different continent. The standard of the game rangers was impressive and they are so keen to share their knowledge. Our thanks goes to Yasiwha who looked after us on safari and so enthusiastically shared his passion for nature as well as Roshan, who so expertly drove the vehicle. Thanks to chef Sanjeewa for teaching me to make your wonderful curd. And the biggest thank you to Hasitha who looked after us at every meal and who brightened our days with his friendly smile and demeanour. He so keenly engaged with us and shared his stories. The only slight negative was that we did not realise in advance that we would not be able to walk on the beach due to the fact that wildlife roam freely nor did we realise the sea was too dangerous to swim.

Safari Ranger Vibu had a vast knowledge of the animals and showed genuine interest in their well being with respect to all animals. Excelled as our Safari leader and gave us an incredibly memorable leopard encounter.

Our stay at Uga Chena Huts was truly exceptional from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was outstanding. Every single team member delivered genuine, warm and attentive hospitality that made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay. Nothing ever felt forced—it was authentic, thoughtful and consistently excellent. One of the absolute highlights was the safari experience. Having the same private ranger, Yessi, and driver throughout our stay made a huge difference. They quickly understood what we were hoping to see, learnt our interests and tailored every drive accordingly. Beyond spotting wildlife, every safari became a fascinating learning experience thanks to Yessi’s incredible knowledge and passion for conservation. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, we were fortunate enough to see a leopard every single day, a sloth bear mother with her two cubs—an incredibly rare and unforgettable sighting—along with elephants, crocodiles, jackals, buffalo, monkeys, an abundance of birdlife, and so many other incredible animals. Every drive was different, exciting and exceeded our expectations. For families, the Ranger Program is an absolute must. Our daughter absolutely loved every minute of it. Yessi’s passion was truly contagious, and he patiently shared his knowledge while encouraging her curiosity and love for nature. She learnt so much about the wildlife and unique ecosystem of Yala, and it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of her trip. A special thank you also to our wonderful driver, whose skill, kindness and teamwork with Yessi made every safari seamless, safe and unforgettable. Our villa was beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean. The attention to detail from housekeeping was exceptional, making it a pleasure to return to after each safari. The food was another standout. Every meal was fresh, healthy, beautifully presented and full of flavour. We loved the variety on offer and appreciated the quality of every dining experience. The location is perfect—just a few minutes from the entrance to Yala National Park—making every safari effortless and maximising your time in the park rather than on the road. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Ashan and the entire Food & Beverage team. Every interaction was genuine, professional and delivered with such warmth and kindness. You all played a part in making our stay so memorable. Uga Chena Huts perfectly combines luxury, authentic wildlife experiences and heartfelt hospitality. It is a place where every detail has been thoughtfully considered and where the people truly make the experience extraordinary. We chose Uga Chena Hut to end our honeymoon. It was an excellent decision. It all started with the very warm welcome from Dinith and our dedicated guide for our four days, Kalindu. Everything is included at UCH, even the safaris. I wholeheartedly recommend Kalindu; he knows his park so well, from the animals and plants to the many fascinating stories he has to tell. We even had the chance to go for a walk with him on the beach looking for animal tracks, as well as a very different safari experience in Block 5. The excellent food, whether enjoyed on the beautiful terrace or directly on the beach, must also be mentioned. The service is attentive. Kudos to Dinith's team, who were able to accommodate all our requests and whims 😉.
