My daughter and I stayed here whilst doing the Coast to Coast walk. What impressed us most about the Hotel was the staff. Mandy on Reception was amazing, she seemed to have many other duties too. My daughter had blisters and Mandy provided her with dressing that eased her problems. The food here was also amazing , obviously lucky enough to have a really good team in the kitchen. The young lad (good at maths) behind the bar was charming and Kate serving on was wonderful. Tracey on duty at Breakfast was a hoot, reminded me of Victoria Woods. I do hope the Manager appreciates how lucky he is to have such a good staff working for him. Nice to learn the new owner has many innovative ideas regarding environmental issues too.

We went for dinner on Saturday evening, we received a warm welcome from Amy and were shown to our table. The menu was lovely, we ordered sirloin steaks with all the trimmings; the steaks were cooked to perfection,divine!! Sadly we were too full for desserts, which looked lovely; next time. There was a nice atmosphere, a little background music would have been nice; we spoke to Faith and Diane who both made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be returning and sampling more of the delicious food and I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

We stayed at the Wainstones Hotel while walking the Coast to Coast Trail, organised by Contours. David kindly offered to collect us from the trail. Large light bedroom with large ensuite including bath. Very comfortable. Great dinner and breakfast and they also provided sandwiches for the next day's walk.

We stayed at The Wainstones for one night. The room was spacious, with three beds, and clean, with a big bathroom and good beds. The breakfast was very good, we enjoyed the porridge (with Drambuie!) and made to order omelet. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. A BIG PLUS!! We also had dinner at the hotel. The Sunday roast was excellent.

The hotel staff were very warm and friendly. The accommodation and breakfast were very good. One of our party had a medical issue and the Manager could not have been more supportive with advice on how and where to get a doctor's appointment, to a lift to the medical centre and further advice as to chemists. Superb.

My wife and I stayed here last night on the Super Sunday deal. Very nice hotel with good size and very comfortable bedrooms. Big car park, nice bar area and very quiet. All the staff we met were excellent, especially Tracey at the breakfast service. Great character who made our day with her humour. The food, dinner and breakfast are included in the deal, were excellent. The Sunday roast lamb in my case, came with 8 types of vegetable. Breakfast offered an excellent choice too. All in all a lovely part of North Yorkshire especially if you want to use it as a base for exploring our wonderful county. We will definitely return.

We used the three course Meal for Two Voucher we had previously bought . There was a good menu and the food was to a good standard and plentiful , the service was good and the drinks were at fair prices. Plenty of parking on site and a nice area. Good service we would have no hesitation in revisiting .
