I booked a female-only dormitory through Ctrip. When I arrived at a&o, my reservation for a female-only dorm was confirmed. I proceeded with self-check-in at the kiosk, and because I had booked a female-only dorm, a reception staff member needed to verify I was female and then use their staff card on the kiosk to finalize the room assignment. However, after I was assigned a room and entered it, despite having booked a female-only dorm, there was a man in the room who was undressing. I screamed and immediately went to the reception to explain the situation. The staff asked me to wait for a moment, then left me in the lobby for over 30 minutes. Unable to wait any longer, I approached the staff again, and they told me they had forgotten about me. I consider this to be racial discrimination against Asians. It took over an hour after arriving at the hostel before I could finally enter a female-only dormitory. And out of all the available beds, the one I was assigned happened to have a broken power outlet. Furthermore, in a room with 8 beds, only 3 of us slept there. Two people were given lower bunk beds, but instead of giving me one of the two remaining lower bunk beds, they specifically assigned me to an upper bunk bed with no power. Ctrip is currently actively working to resolve these issues. I will never stay at this hostel again, but I will continue to use Ctrip.

I strongly advise against staying at this hostel! Be prepared for the fact that, after paying over 30 euros, you’ll only get two hours of sleep in a stuffy, noisy room that doesn't have a single locker for your belongings! This hostel chain considers itself so popular, that it not only treats guests with disdain and threatens them with the police over a €1.28 "tax" that wasn't listed at the time of booking, but also refers to its own partner booking platforms—which sell their services and drive their popularity (including Trip.com)—as mere "third-party organizations"! It was one of the worst my accommodation's experiences . Despite arriving at 1:30 AM—exhausted and having already paid for my stay—the receptionist, Saad, was in no rush to check me in. He forced me to use the self-check-in terminal myself, even though it kept throwing up a booking error no matter how many times I tried. Instead of processing my check-in, Saad kept getting distracted by bar duties; he demanded payment of a €1.28 "tax"—even though my booking stated "total price including taxes"—and even threatened to call the police over that unpaid €1.28! He deliberately dragged out the process and let himself get distracted, all while mockingly attending to bar orders. In the end, he assigned me an lower bed, claiming he didn't know which beds were lower bunks—even though I had specifically requested a lower bed in the booking comments! When I had to go back and ask to change, Saad again claimed he "didn't know where a lower bed was," all while ostentatiously taking bar orders and ignoring me. Finally, around 4 AM, just as I was making my bed, fire sirens woke up all guests in the hostel: a fire had broken out, and all the guests had to evacuate outside! I strongly recommend firing Saad and his colleague—the security guard—for their rude and dismissive attitude toward guests!

Very near to central train station (walkable), check in from 15:00 but you can store your luggage in the meantime, ask the key from reception and go tour the city. Guest can cook, have kitchen with utensils. Every room have 3 bunk beds , have personal toilet in room with shower and hair dryer. Overall it was excellent stay for budget traveller

The facilities were a bit dirty and messy, the bed assignments were chaotic, and there was a strong smell indoors. Checking in, even at the counter, required using a machine, which was quite inconvenient.

Very good location near the central station. Good fast automated check in, so you do not need to wait in queue. Bed and pillow, however, not very comfortable. Corridors and common areas are a bit dirty and dusty.

Stayed for 2 nights. The hostel is about a 12-minute walk from the main train station. The room was decent and had everything I needed.

For the price (which is good for Hamburg) and the central location, you can't expect much, and we knew that from the start. The building, hallways, stairs, and elevator are visibly aged. The room for four people was quite cramped but manageable – you can make it work. No closets, so you live out of your suitcase. The very small, windowless bathroom had the typical drawbacks of such a layout. Everything was functional as far as possible. The breakfast was great for us – very friendly and extremely attentive staff, truly fantastic! Lots of young people – it's a hostel, after all – so the hallways are lively from early morning till late. Not for sensitive people or those seeking peace and quiet. For us, it was okay – especially the price for the central location and the good breakfast. You can definitely make arrangements and overlook a few things.

Location is convenient enough, reasonable walking distance to the central train station and close to metro station; walkable to the warehouse district (30 minutes) if your up for it. Great breakfast selection and choices, friendly enough the staff, reasonably priced bar and food and deal, welcome coffee on arrival, pool table and zone for children to play.
