La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hammond

First, I would like to say that I have stayed at several La Quintas and have not had a bad experience yet. However, if you value your safety, I highly recommend you do not stay at La Quinta in Hammond Louisiana. I was greeted by the fresh smell of **** as I arrived. I was immediately grossed out, but wish that's all that happened while I was there. The bathroom, which I'm pretty sure supplied used toiletries, had mold around the bathtub. The curtain was filthy. The fluorescent lights made me feel like I was in a factory. While the surrounding areas had clean cut grass, the hotel itself had at least a foot of grass...possibly to hide the broken glass that was all around ... not to mention, the human feces. We felt very unsafe both because it was quite evident that there were attempted break-ins on all the doors... And then there was the ********* that happened next door, in the parking lot and the stairwell. That one was fun. *********s not pictured for obvious reasons.) The dirty ice machine, and caution tape that had fallen into the dark green pool gave me the feeling of wanting to douse myself in antibacterial solution. We did our best this morning to pack the car up and get our fourteen-year-old out of there- while keeping our eyes down so as not to disrupt any *********ings. La Quinta, either get yourself together and clean this place up, or add a disclaimer to your business listing at this location so that unsuspecting families don't walk into this death trap.

Very dirty room.. mold on bathtub… ice machine out of order.. pool under maintenance and hot tub out of maintenance .very disappointing will never stay in this hotels. Dirty towels in rest room . Restroom door not closing

Our room was not clean. Carpet was sticky, all the towels were stained as well as the shower curtain, and the rail in the shower was half off the wall. The pool and hot tub weren’t even open which we were not aware of. We tried using the gym but were instantly hit with a strong gasoline smell in the room which was unbearable. Very disappointing stay.

Overall EXCELLENT place to stay and this is why I was surprised to find major mold on the lower portion of the shower curtain.

The office is easy to find on this property. I found a parking spot quickly and checked in under 5 mins from arriving. The room had air on and was comfortable. The art work on walls was local and refreshing. Breakfast was muffins and coffee. A few pieces of other items were in the fridge. Check out was quick also they are there if you need them but quick if you need to get to resting. Got back on Hwy 55 no problem.

This place is in bad shape. The lawn wasn't even cut. Stains on the bed sheets to many things to list.

The staff we interacted with at check-in and check-out were wonderful. Room was clean. Continental breakfast was nice. The property is in serious need of a maintenance person for interior and exterior repairs. Lawn has not been kept mowed nor have bushes been trimmed. Backdoor exit sidewalk was encumbered by a palm tree limb hanging over it. ****s near pool. Hot tub was closed. Pool area had wasps nests. (Sign on door did warn of these)

During our check in the person at the desk didn't even stand up out of her seat to check us in. Once we got to the room the keys didn't work. In the room we found a pair of ladies support underwear that had been left there. We didn't see that until the morning and upon reporting it to the front desk to the same person, the reply was "Oh". Would never stay here again and if I could rate it below 0 I would!

The hotel was ok, but they did not tell us that they did not clean room every day. Im ok with reusing towels an extra day, but we had to ask for towels every time we wanted them. Other than that, staff was very polite.
