Hangzhou Xinqiao Hotel（West Lake）

The old-school New Century Hotel in Hangzhou boasts an unbeatable location, just a few minutes' walk from West Lake, and close to Longxiang Bridge subway station and Hubin Yintai. The rooms are clean and tidy with comfortable bedding. The 10th-floor terrace is a hidden gem for amazing panoramic views of West Lake, and the 17th-floor restaurant offers a delightful ambiance. The breakfast selection is plentiful, and the service is attentive. As a long-standing four-star hotel by West Lake, it has a rich heritage. Staying here makes exploring West Lake a breeze and is an excellent choice for a Hangzhou vacation. My friends had a fantastic stay this time, highly recommended!

This hotel is a bit dated. The lobby features huge jade ornaments, the hallways are carpeted with thick rugs, and the rooms have crystal chandeliers. The suite was divided into two independent rooms, one bathroom, and two toilets. It was spacious with good soundproofing. The shower pressure was amazing, making for a very comfortable shower. However, the bed in the smaller bedroom was quite firm and the pillows were too low. Upon check-in, we received two lattes and a very simple welcome fruit platter, but no welcome gift. There's a viewing platform on the 10th floor with a side view of West Lake. Xinqiao is probably the tallest building near West Lake, so you can catch the sunset over the lake. Just remember to go about half an hour earlier than the written sunset time to catch it! Turning right out of the hotel, you'll find several Intime department stores connected, and a short walk further brings you to West Lake. It's super convenient for dining and shopping.

My friends and I made a last-minute decision to visit Hangzhou, so we booked this hotel which boasts incredibly convenient transportation and offers a partial view of West Lake from the room. Before our arrival, a butler contacted us to inquire about our needs during our stay, and the check-in process was also seamless. Furthermore, the tenth-floor terrace offers a breathtaking view of the sunset, and the breakfast spread is wonderfully abundant.

Whenever I visit Hangzhou, I usually stay at Xinciao Hotel. It's conveniently located near shopping malls like in77 and Jiebai, and is also very close to West Lake. This time, I booked a side lake-view room through a group deal, which was quite a good value. The hotel's service is also commendable. There's a viewing platform on the tenth floor with a direct view of West Lake, and the scenery is beautiful both day and night. The downside is that the hotel facilities are a bit old, and there are limited charging outlets by the bed.

The terrace at Xinqiao Hotel offers a delightful view of the lake, and with the recent good weather, the sunset in the evening was absolutely beautiful. It was a really pleasant experience. I brought my parents to Hangzhou, and staying in a hotel as a family of three can be a bit awkward. Hotels around West Lake are either astronomically priced or old and rundown. I bought a room voucher after seeing a recommendation on Xiyou. For a Saturday night, a 50-square-meter two-bedroom suite by West Lake, including three breakfasts, offered incredible value for money. What's more, I was able to book it just two days before our trip. Of course, there were clear downsides. The room's decor and furniture were indeed a bit old. Being in a bustling commercial area, we could faintly hear car horns and mall music from the street even at 9 PM. However, the upside was that it was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Once asleep, I wasn't woken up and slept soundly until morning. Having two bathrooms, and with the doors closed, it was essentially like having two separate rooms, which is perfect for adult children traveling with their parents. The hotel breakfast was also delicious. Besides Bianchuan and small wontons, the live cooking station offered scallion oil noodles. The soy milk was rich, and you could add your own toppings and vinegar to make savory soy milk, which is hard to find a good one outside. The 10th-floor terrace offered a nice view, and we even caught the sunset. It's not far from the subway station, with plenty of food and entertainment options nearby. To get to West Lake, you need to use an underground passage. Overall, I highly recommend it.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient to visit West Lake. Plus, it has an open-air garden where you can enjoy the beautiful views of West Lake without even leaving the hotel. When you do step out, you're just a short walk from Intime Hubin Shopping Mall and Jiebaili. Wushan Road, right nearby, is also home to the famous Wushan Roasted Chicken. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hangzhou.

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a short walk to West Lake. Plus, the 10th-floor observation deck offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire lake. The front desk staff was very accommodating and upgraded our room, making for a really great stay.
