Grand Mansion 1903 Hotel 🏨 is still as good as ever. I stayed here with my children in 2019. The children liked it very much. Both the decoration and the service of the hotel are very good. Have breakfast in the hotel's century-old wine cellar. Freshly fried steak and omelettes are the specialties. They taste very good and there are many varieties of breakfast. When I came to Harbin again this year, I chose the Grand Gongguan 1903 Hotel. When I checked in, a handsome guy with a very nice attitude saw me bringing an old man and two children with him, and he even offered to give us a breakfast. The feeling of staying here this time is still very good. The waiters will meet all our needs. If I have the opportunity to come to Harbin again in the future, I will still choose Grand Gongguan 1903 Hotel.

Many of the previous reviews confirmed. We arrived late at night but were able to check in easily. The location was spectacular near many coffee shops and Russian restaurants. We even stumbled upon a nearby karaoke bar on the pedestrian street! It is near enough to walk to the Sophia Cathedral (which is seemingly closed). Ice and Snow World is far enough to need a car but close enough that it’s a quick ride. After hours of touring in the cold, the heated floors were much appreciated. The bathtub was also very nice.

Think this is a 4-5 stars hotel locally. The lobby is decent, not posh type. The rooms are cosy and beautiful. Kids like the kids room, toys and the sport car bed. All toiletries are provided and have kids version. Very thoughtful. Have a welcome fruits n snacks platters with high class mineral water. One thing we didn’t like about the hotel is it has a weird smell when we stepped out of the lift and walked towards our room. Like ‘salted fish’ smell. Not sure if it is from carpet or some food brought in by others. The smell was also in our room. The hotel is at a busy road junction facing Songhua River. Around there are many local eateries. We had a hard time finding suitable food for us and kids as their local food are mostly beef, lamb and duck innards and spicy. End up we took a taxi and went to a restaurant called Sheng Tian Fu, recommended by the driver. Taxi drivers not many are familiar with this hotel, and have to show them namecard. Not too difficult to get to attractions such as Harbin Polarpark, Sofia church and Zhongyang Street. More convenient to travel by taxi as these places are not exactly very near hotel and it can be cold walking a distance of 1-2km. Hotel provides decent breakfast with reasonable variety. Waitresses are friendly and proactive to chat with you and recommend you what to eat. One of them is called Xiao Liu, nice middle-age lady. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel and may go back if we go to Harbin again and if the pricing of hotel is cheaper.

People who like bright lights may find it a bit dim and depressing. This time I went to Harbin on a business trip. Harbin is so popular right now that it is hard to find a room. The hotel is located between Central Street and Sophia Church. It is very convenient to go to both places. The location is particularly good and it is also very convenient to go to Lili Food Market and Hongzhuan Morning Market. It is within walking distance to the hotel. Although the facilities are a bit old, the rooms are clean and tidy. The staff are very enthusiastic. Really excellent location. This is within walking distance of the main train station, but not so close that the area has a seedy feeling. It's also very close to the Saint Sophia church. The desk staff is professional and efficient. Vienna Hotels feel safe and secure even for a solo traveler, which is why I chose them or a Jinjiang Inn when I'm traveling alone. The cleaning ladies are friendly. No English was spoken when I was there, but I feel like the staff would try hard to make themselves understood if you were a foreign traveler. The only downsides are that the breakfasts here are mediocre -- they are more expensive than the Jinjiang Inn ones, but not as good. Vienna Hotels also have carpet, which tends to get a little gross in Chinese hotels. Mine wasn't dirty, but did look worse for wear. My only complaints are the two nitpicky ones above. For sure, if I returned to Harbin for another vacation I would strongly consider staying in this hotel again, and would recommend it to a friend who is on a budget or traveling alone. It's a very good choice if you are visiting Harbin.

We had a room for 3 persons and it was clean and big so we stayed comfortably for 4 nights. It has a washer in the toilet. The toilet is a bit small and get all wet when shower but we requested for a mop and mopped it after each shower, the floor was dry in minutes so no issue for us. Communication thru Wechat was fast and efficient. Everything we requested for was provided for almost within minutes. Location was good for us as it is near Line 2 metro which took us to the Ice Festival site, Sun Island and Zhongyang Walking Street and we strolled to Songhua River as well. It is just next to Sophia Church as you can see the picture taken from the window of my room. Not all rooms facing the church so if you want the view, you may need to check with the person in charge to find out which room has the nice view. Overall we like our stay and will definitely book again if we come back.
