We came to Harbin for the Ice & Snow Festival and as the hotel is located very close to a metro station it made it easy to travel around Harbin. Although a little out of the center, there’s lots of malls and restaurants close to the hotel which means this is not an issue.
I think the photos of the hotel need to be updated on the website. The decor now seems very old, run down and dated. The biggest issue was the smell of smoke in the rooms. In -20 degrees temperature, I felt the need to open the windows to escape the smell and was scared to lay my clothes on the furniture. The rooms are also not soundproof - whilst we were there, the clientele were extremely noisy which made it difficult to get a good night sleep.
If you’re a budget traveller, this hotel will serve as a good base to get your head down each night. If you can afford to spend more, I would advise to.
