The Old Town Bed and Breakfast

Would highly recommend a stay here. Perfect location, just steps away from the seafront and the centre of the Old Town. Rock-a-Nore is only a short walk away. The host Tracey is so friendly and welcoming and cooked an amazing breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The only negative is there are steep stairs so if you’re not able to manage this you will miss out on the best B&B in Hastings. We stayed in Room 4 which is the best room for access if you have mobility issues as you only encounter one set of steep stairs (there are stairs leading up to these but they are not steep and very manageable even with my dodgy hip and knee). Thank you Tracey for a wonderful stay - we will be back!

I really enjoyed my three nights at The Old Town Guesthouse. I had a nice single room next to a clean bathroom. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot. One of the best things was the splendid breakfast served by a charming, friendly lady. The Guesthouse is very close to the historical sites in the Hastings Old Town. Across the road from the beach and the historic netshops. I will be back!

The stay at Tracey’s guesthouse was absolutely phenomenal. So welcoming and lovely. All started with a very detailed communication beforehand, wanting to make sure I had everything I needed for arrival and access to the place. Very thoughtful. The experience continued with the fresh smell at the entrance and in my room. The room was charming, cozy and had everything it needed: hairdryer, fluffy blankets and soft robe and pillows. I especially loved the view of the beach and funicular. The mattress is sagging a little bit, that would be my only criticism. But highlight was definitely breakfast: you get to choose from a menu of 7 or 8 options and it is all prepared freshly for you. And I really annoyed the lovely little chats at breakfast with Tracey and the other guests. She made us all feel very at home. I would highly recommend staying here! Thanks again for the hospitality!

AHastings in Feb is anything but glamorous, but...the B&B was warm, welcoming and gloriously friendly. The best was big and comfy and twh breakfast was ample, well cooked and hearty.

Cannot recommend this place enough… situated conveniently amongst the shops, restaurants and amusements, this little guesthouse goes above and beyond in every way. Probably the best hash browns we have ever tasted; super friendly hosts; and some lovely little touches in the room.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days and have zero faults! The entire place was incredibly clean and the beds were SO comfortable. On top of that, Tracey was lovely! The breakfasts were all expertly made (I made my way through a couple of them) and the entire stay had a homely feel that didn’t feel overpowering. The room had amenities most hotels don’t provide, including Prime, Disney, Netflix and NowTV logged in on the tv. The venue is bang in the middle of old town and literally a stones throw from the beach. We’re already planning another trip and cannot thank Tracey enough for being such a wonderful host.

I really enjoyed my most recent stay at The Old Town Guest House, located right in the heart of historic Hastings. Its owner, Tracey, is as welcoming as ever and cooks the best Full English, on the south coast, as well as lighter fare as crepes. The guest house itself is currently being refurbished but is still open for guests. The work did not detract from the enjoyment of my stay. Some have written about the stairs in the building. There are a number of them. I'm in my 70s and can manage them. Just take them one at a time.. Looking for a good value guest house in the centre of Hastings Old Town? You couldn't do better than visit The Old Town Guest House, I have for more than 10 years.

Tracey was a brilliant hostess: friendly, helpful and always cheery. The breakfasts were excellent and while the room was somewhat compact, it had everything you need, including a very comfy bed! Stairs were a challenge, especially to one who has dodgy knees! Also, parking is an issue, although there is a dropping off zone. In all, a lovely stay and would return when next in Hastings.

Tracey was a great host - full of information and very easy to chat to. We stayed in room 7 which was excellent - no issues for us As mentioned previously stairs might be a problem for some and the decor on the way up to the rooms was quite poor but I was not staying on the stairs so didn’t worry about that Great location for us and a bit of a pain to walk from the car park but Hastings hotels all seem to have the same problem Overall really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book here again if we returned to Hastings
