Overall very friendly and pleasant experience. During dinner one plate served to us was dirty so we had to ask for it to be swapped but was dealt with promptly. Morning coffee served in the lounge cannot be taken back to the rooms which is pretty inconvenient. The meals served were delicious.

Although the hotel is a bit old, the service is really good. The hotel is a bit far from the pier. Fortunately, there is a shuttle bus, which is available in the morning and evening, which is very convenient. The room is clean and hygienic, but there are fewer sockets. It would be better if there is an exhaust fan in the bathroom. I booked breakfast and dinner. I can only say that the food is worthy of the price. It is definitely not comparable to a good hotel. Overall, the price/performance ratio is very good.

Really friendly staff and a spacious and comfortable room. The public bathhouse was a bit disappointing, but other than that it was very nice. Unlike the old exterior, the inside has been remodeled so you can relax comfortably. I want to come again next time. The people who served dinner and breakfast were friendly and the service was good.

Staff were fabulous - very helpful and friendly. Hotel is in a quiet location, with great sea views from our room, and a free minibus taking 5-10 minutes to the ferry terminal area. The hotel is for a traditional Japanese ryokan experience. Rooms have futons (not beds), and dinner is a set meal served in your room sitting on tatami mats at a very low table. Meal was a 7-8 course Japanese banquet (very elaborate, but challenging to this westerner). Hotel is a little tired, and there is some noise between rooms. The onsen (communal baths) are separate for male and female, and nicely done.

Had a lovely time staying here overnight, which I highly recommend so you're not rushed exploring what Miyajima can offer. The service was excellent, staff spoke English and the shared bathhouse is tattoo-friendly. There was really no need to use the shower in the room. The rooms are tatami and they prep your futon during dinnertime. The shuttle bus was very prompt. They can pick up your luggage before checking in so you can explore the island hands-free. All you need to do is go to the information desk at the ferry terminal & they'll call for you. Their location is beautiful by the beach, I can imagine summertime escapes would be fun as well. It snowed the next morning and the view was beautiful with the occasional deer walking by. The stay includes a dinner and breakfast. Both were delicious, beautifully presented and served with local ingredients (oysters and conger eel!) Menu can also be provided in English.

Amazing staff and food! It was a romantic getaway on Miyajima. Very much enjoyed wearing the traditional Yukata.
