We visited for 1 night which was the first of our South Africa holiday. we really wished we could have stayed longer tot use all the wonderful facilities. Our room was beautiful, had everything we needed and was very clean. There were lots of lovely little touches that really made it for us. Arrival drink, lovely toiletries, turn service with chocolates, wine etc. The breakfast spread was also beautiful with plenty of choice as well as cooked options to order. The views match this hotel and service. It rained while we were there but that didn't spoil the views. It' also a great location to all the local shops and restaurants.

Beautiful historic building with breathtaking views! Elegantly updated interior - and careful attention paid to bringing the bay ”inside”. Hubs and I spent a restful night in a sea-facing room on the third floor. The ocean-inspired colours and textures used in the room evoke peace and tranquility, while the sounds and smells of the waves lapping right outside appeal to, and indeed heighten, one's senses. Our room was well equipped, comfortable, clean and cosy. The breakfast buffet was delicious, well presented, and had enough variety to suit a spectrum of diets and tastes. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the welcoming glass of wine on arrival - such a nice touch. Thank you Yolande van der Walt and team, we commend your efforts and we'll definitely be back!

We loved our stay. Feels almost like home. Just a few minor things like either no or bad dstv signal for our whole stay. Couldn't even watch 10minutes of anything. It was reported but could not be sorted out. Cleaning checks should be done. Place was clean but not done very well. Parking great. Loved that the shops is so close. Almost everything within walking distance. Maybe a welcome pack explaining ins and outs of the place could be placed in the apartment.

What a find! From arrival to departure, we loved every minute. We were staying in the hineymoon suite. Large and comfortable, with AMAZING views. So comfortable. Breakfast great. Fresh fruit, delicious yoghurts and bakes. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Dining room overlooking the pool and oceon. Hosts VERY wrlcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. Simpky a wonderful experience.

Had a splendid 2 night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff made us feel so welcome. They are exceptionally polite and well informed on the surrounding area. We were provided with a map full of helpful suggestions, and a thorough introduction to the lodge and all it's facilities upon check-in. The lodge is located right next to Hermanus New Harbour and a few steps from the cliff path, which is well worth the walk. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It opens onto a beautiful, well maintained garden area but a few steps from the pool. Breakfast was fantastic (reccommend the Full English!), and a lovely selection of breads, cereals, fruits, cold meats, yogurts etc at the buffet. Truly, no complaints. Would absolutely stay again.

The Sixteen Guesthouse on Main was a lovely property, with 5 fully equipped suites, including a small living room, large bedroom and fully stocked bathroom with shower and tub. The property included large double doors to increase airflow, an exit to the pool with lounge chairs, and chairs directly outside each room. It was easy walking distance to downtown Hermanus either via Main Street (approximately a 10 min walk) or via the ocean road (approximately a 20 minute walk). Anel was a lovely host and provided great restaurant and tour recommendation. I would highly recommend this laid-back guesthouse to anyone traveling through Hermanus.

I liked Baleia. Friendly staff and check-in, even when we were a bit late. Rooms were big and had everything needed. Location and breakfast were good. The only downside is that they seem to have run out of hot water due to a big group staying there. Considering the price, not having hot water was not great, imo. Hopefully this won’t be an issue for other guests in the future.

We stayed in the Whale room for 5 nights. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was amazing. The breakfasts were beautifully presented with a great selection …. fresh fruit, pancakes, cereal, yoghurt and hot options - eggs, bacon, mushrooms etc. my favourite was the mushroom and cheese omelette 😊. Our room was also equipped with a toaster, microwave and basic cutlery and crockery so we could enjoy a light meal without having to order in or go out. The private outdoor courtyard was a good place to relax. Being a swimmer, the large pool was a huge bonus. The location allowed us to stroll to the shops and waterfront if we felt like it.

Our room was beautiful, had everything we needed and was very clean. There were lots of lovely little touches that really made it for us. Arrival drink, lovely toiletries, turn service with chocolates, wine etc. The breakfast spread was also beautiful with plenty of choice as well as cooked options to order. The views match this hotel and service. It rained while we were there but that didn't spoil the views. It' also a great location to all the local shops and restaurants.

Had a splendid 2 night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff made us feel so welcome. They are exceptionally polite and well informed on the surrounding area. We were provided with a map full of helpful suggestions, and a thorough introduction to the lodge and all it's facilities upon check-in. The lodge is located right next to Hermanus New Harbour and a few steps from the cliff path, which is well worth the walk. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It opens onto a beautiful, well maintained garden area but a few steps from the pool. Breakfast was fantastic (reccommend the Full English!), and a lovely selection of breads, cereals, fruits, cold meats, yogurts etc at the buffet. Truly, no complaints. Would absolutely stay again.

Arrival from Cape Town was very straightforward, secure parking at the back of the property. Elizma the host could not have been more helpful, she messaged before we were due to arrive to ask if we would like a dinner reservation and a whale watching boat trip. Both were fantastic. Breakfast was probably about the best ever, we are both vegetarian, Elizma cooked and baked the most amazing variety and quantity. Room was very large, comfortable and with a good shower, lovely outdoor space. Easy and beautiful walk into the town, loads to see and do. We walked the full length of the cliff path and were lucky enough to see whales from the shore. Plenty of restaurants and cafes. Thank you for a truly wonderful 3 night stay.

I liked Baleia. Friendly staff and check-in, even when we were a bit late. Rooms were big and had everything needed. Location and breakfast were good. The only downside is that they seem to have run out of hot water due to a big group staying there. Considering the price, not having hot water was not great, imo. Almost everything within walking distance. Maybe a welcome pack explaining ins and outs of the place could be placed in the apartment.

Beautiful historic building with breathtaking views! Elegantly updated interior - and careful attention paid to bringing the bay ”inside”. Hubs and I spent a restful night in a sea-facing room on the third floor. The ocean-inspired colours and textures used in the room evoke peace and tranquility, while the sounds and smells of the waves lapping right outside appeal to, and indeed heighten, one's senses. Our room was well equipped, comfortable, clean and cosy. The breakfast buffet was delicious, well presented, and had enough variety to suit a spectrum of diets and tastes. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the welcoming glass of wine on arrival - such a nice touch. Thank you Yolande van der Walt and team, we commend your efforts and we'll definitely be back!
