It’s a very big hotel with several activities. However, majority of their staff are not friendly. The receptionist on the day of our arrival got all room details mixed up and wasn’t ready to make any adjustments to allocate us to the exact rooms we booked. We were tired as we came in after midnight and just had to make do. The restaurant staff will literally stand in your face and tell you to eat up because breakfast or lunch was almost over and they needed to clean up. The nicest friendliest staff was the entertainment guy organising shows and Karaoke. Food was great and for an all inclusive package you will have more than enough to eat and drink. Moving around the resort wasn’t easy though. All said, I enjoyed my stay.

I really enjoyed my time here. It's such an amazing hotel. It was clean and the food was lovely. All staff were pleasant and lovely to deal with. The staff at the spa, was my absolute favourite, and the experience was amazing. I had such a great time.

We are back from spending a lovely holiday at Grand Resort. We chose this hotel due to good TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed (except one flaw). The hotel is spotless with the cleaning doing an excellent job maintaining the hotel on top condition. The rooms are built on hillside and they provide lovely view of the sea and mountain. Kettles can be found in the room to make coffee and tea if you are bored to go to the pool bar. The hotel is quite steep but they have shuttle buggies available if you are too tired to walk. The food variety is ok and we had a dinner in the Italian restaurant which was delicious. But the true gem of this hotel are the staff. Everyone (almost) do their best to make you feel welcome. Special mention to Anna in the Pool bar and Socrates in the upper pool bar. Also George and Kostas in the evening bar. All of them greeted us every day with the smile. The only complaint i have to point out is that when we arrived at the hotel the reception was quite busy. A lovely man greeted us and was checking our passports. During that time his co-worker ( a woman with red hair) interrupted him and she was trying to argue with him about something. You could see clearly that she was insulting him and all this was happened in front of us. We didn't understand the reason but the man (i cant remember his name) tried to remain calm and was very professional. He was smiling but you could clearly see that he was frustrated and sad. He kept smiling with calm look on his face and talked to us about hotel facilities. This was admirable and despite all negativity from his coworker he made us feel very welcome. This was the only negative experience we had and thus we are giving the hotel 4/5 rating.

Our second trip to Grand Hotel and we were not disappointed. The hotel is super clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are fantastic. The fun pool has been updated with a massive water feature now included and the views from there are absolutely breathtaking. Socratis in that bar is an absolute gentleman and works so hard. The adult pool was stricter this year, no children allowed, which was lovely if you wanted some quiet time sunbathing and the main pool still had the games and classes, but they are not pushy. The food is freshly cooked, hot and varied. I have seen some reviews on here saying it is samey, but of course it is, we were there for two weeks, so it is wise to plan a break out of the hotel. Romantic Corner in Stalis is a great restaurant, stunning and great food. In the main restaurant, I would recommend eating outside, feels much more restaurant like. Table service is still available, and our experience is we never waited for more than five minutes and were always offered more wine and water to take back to our room. George also deserves a special mention, what a gent. He greeted us like family, we were surprised he would even remember us, but he is an absolute credit to the hotel. Most of the staff are. Four a 4* family hotel, it hits all the spots. We will be back one day, thanks for a great couple of weeks !

We’ve just returned from a two week holiday here. We had a great time. The hotel is a very good 4 star hotel. The rooms are basic, we booked two rooms, one for my husband and I and another for our 2 teens. We booked 2 superior sea views, and I’d emailed the hotel to request that the rooms are next to each other. The rooms were opposite each other in block 900. Which meant only one had a sea view and the other a mountain/road view. The sea/pool view room was dated but huge, the other was very small but more modern. I think the decor varies from room to room. We did ask reception if we could possibly move to have 2 sea view rooms as we’d paid for , but the only rooms available were right at the top of the hill and were both very small, our kids preferred their huge room! It was disappointing but did not ruin our holiday. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the grounds are maintained very well. Rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily. The staff are all lovely , as mentioned in other reviews, George and the restaurant staff are happy and friendly. Luca does a fantastic job of entertaining and we loved his aqua aerobics! The food is plentiful and changes daily, lots of delicious things to choose from. The a la cart restaurants are very good, make sure you go hungry as you get a lot of food! My only criticism is the meat was sometimes very fatty in the buffet restaurant. Another negative is the gym, which I know is not on everyone’s top things to do on holiday! But it had no air conditioning, no free weights and not enough machines to use. The water slides are great fun, all the pools are clean and safe, lifeguards around all the time, plus there was always plenty of sunbeds even after 10am, no getting up at stupid a clock to reserve! We walked into Stalis a few times in the evening which takes around 20 mins with lots of bars a restaurants available. We also used the free shuttle to the beach from the hotel on some days too. The beach is busy but great for a change. We also walked into Hersonissos, which again is about 20/30 min walk. We taxied back for €20 but we preferred Stalis. Just be aware the road outside the hotel is a busy main road, but there is an underground crossing you can use. We would definitely recommend this great family hotel, not sure if we’d go back as we like to try new places, but never say never!!

We were very well welcomed on arrival by Alexandros and his team who are pleasant and very helpful. Victor (transfer’s driver) accompanied us to our room with a smile and a friendly manner. Our room number 1028 met our expectations. The bedding is good. The towels in the room were changed every day by the chambermaids, thank you for that. The restaurant service run by the friendly George satisfied us both in terms of the food served and the courtesy of all the team. The all inclusive proposes varied buffet with a good food and plenty of fruit. We recommend that you dine à la carte in the Greek restaurant which is excellent with attentive staff. Safety around the pools and especially around the 5 awesome waterslides are perfectly managed by the two professional life guards in charge who are doing a great job and give us a lot of fun at the same time. Finally we enjoyed the evening shows, including circus, magic and Abba presented by the animation team. We would be delighted to return to this hotel for another holiday.

After reading some negative reviews, we were a little nervous about this holiday. However we had absolutely nothing to worry about, hotel was beautiful. The cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed in room 1005, which was situated just behind the adult only pool. The kids loved the water park, fun pool and activities around the main pool. All the staff were fantastic - special shout out to Luca, who made everyday so entertaining for the children and adults. Along with guys in the water park also made it so fun for the kids. The food was good, we didn’t try the 2 restaurants however main buffet style restaurant had lots of choice. The only down fall for us was the location of the hotel, not much in the area unless wanting to get bus or taxi. It’s pretty much in the middle of no where. If you wanting a pool holiday then this is definitely the holiday for you.

Just returmed from Two Weeks at the Grand Hotel. This is my second family holiday at this hotel and again it was absolutely fantastic. The staff are the heartbeat of the resort and they can not do enough for you. Special mention for Luca who organises and delivers the onsite daily activities. Luca is amazing and works tirelessly to ensure everyone has a great time. George and Maria in the main restaurant are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. Anna in the pool bar welcomes everyone with a smile and keeps the drinks flowing. The rest of the staff are also amazing. The only issue is that it appears that the number of available spaces for british tourists is being reduced and therefore people not get the wonderful opportuniry to stay in this truly amazing hotel.

I travelled here with my 2 daughters for a week. The hotel is very clean and the staff are really friendly. All of the pools are great. Clean and well maintained. Never an issue getting a sun bed. Our room was 1501 which is pretty much at the top of the hill but easy to walk to or a transfer available. This was right next to the fun pool and bar. We would come here for lunch and stay for the afternoon. My children are fussy eaters so dinner time was a bit tricky but lots of options for lunch at the fun pool bar. Enjoyed visiting the beach which was lovely. Great slides that my daughter loved. We had a great time. However, be aware that this is more of a pool holiday. The hotel is not situated right in the middle of shops/restaurants and is not right on the beach. I did know this but I think next time I would book somewhere a bit more in the of it so we could explore a bit more.

We had a lovely time at this hotel but I think a week was long enough for us. Due to the location, it is very much a pool holiday, you can't really walk to the beach, there is a courtesy mini bus to the beach but there is a bit of a scrum to get on the bus. As its on the side of a hill there are some wonderful views from the fun pool and snack bar. There is a golf cart which will you take you up the hill. We were staying in room 101 which is right by the main pool and had a terrace. This was really convenient for the main salt pool and the restaurants but is right by where the evening music in the lobby bar is so loud in the evenings and not very private so curtains had to be drawn all the time. Our room had an internal sliding door so the kids could sleep with the music. The food was amazing in the evening, not great if you like plain food but I enjoyed the variety and everything was beautifully seasoned. The white wine however was not to my taste Having to queue up for a cup of tea was annoying, and we did get caught once in the evening turning up at 7.45pm and having to wait until 8pm because they reset. However you can turn up any other time in the evening service. It is probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed, and you can get a sunbed, especially at the fun pool. They will take towels off if you try to reserve! All in all a good break for what it was.

Firstly the positives, the pools are lovely, the water slides and staff there are great and the rooms are comfy and clean. The 2 al a carte restaurants, if you can get a reservation are quite nice. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end. Absolutely everything during our stay has felt like a massive inconvenience. Ride and unhelpful staff for the most part. You have to queue in the mornings for coffee/tea/water. Having a drinks machines would be so much better. During other meals, you have to order your drinks to the table and this is the only time, even with all inclusive you can get free bottles of water. More than once, we had finished our food and still hadn’t received our drinks. Talking of drinks, don’t even attempt to order one after half past 10, as even with all inclusive, you have to pay. The food is very limited in choice and not cooked well. The evening entertainment isn’t very entertaining and rather boring. I feel like much more could be done. All you would need is some good music/disco and the older kids/adults would be happy. Out of all of the holidays we’ve been on, unfortunately this is the only one I’ve ever felt the need to write a negative review. Rather disappointing and wouldn’t stay here again.

Just back from 10 days all inclusive as 2 families (4 adults and 5 children ranging from ages 9-16) We have had the best time at this hotel. Check in was smooth and George who took us and our luggage to our rooms was informative and friendly. We had previously emailed the hotel before our arrival to request the 3 rooms we had booked were close together and they kindly accommodated this. The food was amazing, really tasty and always a big selection and different each day so it didn't get too repetitive. Drinks included in the all inclusive menu were extensive, large choice of cocktails, beer, wine served by the bottle at lunch and dinner in the restaurant, soft drinks and slushies at the snack bars. Bottled water also served in the restaurant at lunch and dinner, and staff were happy for you to order extra to keep in the fridge in the room. Rooms were clean on arrival, and then cleaned and beds made daily. Requested extra pillows which they happily accommodated. Grounds are also very well maintained. 4 outdoor pools in total, we used all but the adult pool as as the name suggests, children under the age of 16 aren't permitted. Main pool is where all the entertainment is at, pool side games and water aerobics. Staff are not pushy at all so you can join in as much or as little as you want to. This one is salt water which I was a bit apprehensive about but actually didn't bother us once we were in it. Did turn some of the swimwear yellow though. Slide pool opens at 11am which meant if you were up a bit late/coming back from somewhere you could always get a sunbed here. Kids absolutely loved the slides, there's a lifeguard both at the top and the bottom to ensure everyone's safety - the children were not allowed on them without us being at this pool. Snack bar here serves soft drinks, sandwiches, fruit pots and doughnuts included in the AI. Fun pool at the top of the resort is up a steep hill but there is a shuttle you can buzz that will take you up and down if you don't fancy the walk. Smaller pool but views are amazing, and the snack bar serves all drinks and light lunches such as burgers, kebabs, chips etc. We ate once at the greek and italian restaurants which were easily bookable at the reception. Food at the Greek restaurant was amazing. Staff are all very friendly, they really can't do enough for you. Ladies in the spa were particularly lovely, us adults all had a massage which was lovely, and the older girls had a facial. We were all very well looked after. Pool here though was freezing but on a very hot day was quite refreshing! We only went to the amphitheatre for the evening entertainment once, being stone the seats aren't the comfiest! Entertainment team really do try their best but wouldn't say acting was their strong point! We opted for the bar above the restaurant instead which had good quality live music each night and waiter service for drinks. The hotel runs a free shuttle to the beach and back which was really handy, here t

We visited at end of June and absolutely loved it. Different level of service compared to other 4 star hotels we've stayed at. We stayed all inclusive and were in block 3 over looking the main pool. The majority of the staff are fantastic. Food was lovely and our plates were always full and mixed. Our room was lovely, spotless and modern. Great bathroom, beds and shower...powerful and temperature was consistent. We rented the safe in our room which was €3 a day. We always ate outside in the buffet restaurant and the staff were very keen we stocked up on bottled water for our room. Never a problem ordering 3 or 4 bottles and taking them back at lunch and dinner. Wine was served by 35cl bottles and the rose wine was gorgeous. The pools are salt water which was a change for us but you soon get used to it. The fab staff at the Horizon pool bar work so hard... you can get as many Mr Whippy ice creams and doughnuts for free, as part of the the AI. My only negative is the lifeguards....they were all on their mobile phones a lot of the time. One at slides spent hours on a sunbed on his phone. Very surprised by this but didn't affect our holiday as I kept an eye on our 10 year old son at all times. Slides were open from 11am every day and our son LOVED them. Always sunbeds available there. I used the adults only pool once but it was too hot...doesn't get any breeze compared to the main pool. We didn't use the theatre in the evenings, only the bar above the restaurant, and it was bliss. Great service and the cocktails were fantastic! Live music nearly every night at the main bar which was great. Lovely views of Stalis. Short walk down into Stalis or you can you use the free hotel shuttle. Definitely worth a visit as so many shops at less than half the price of the hotel shop. Before we came, I was annoyed how the snack bar at the main pool wasn't all inclusive. Only the snack bar up at the top, splash pool was however as we ate so well at breakfast, lunch and dinner, we didn't eat a thing up there. We used to venture up there solely to enjoy the magnificent views and a couple of beers (Mythos or Fix). Overall a fabulous week and we're patiently waiting for bookings to be released to UK travel agents for 2025. Thanks and hopefully see you next year.

Average This is my honest review and my opinion.. check in was very smooth and welcoming. We were given a bag with a wrap apple and water as we arrived late. We were taken to our room by car which was a nice touch Rooms.. they are very dated. Not very big but enough space. The bed was really low with a wooden frame around which met with our shins many times. Ouch. The shower was over a bath where the tiles were quite grubby. And the shower went cold and boiling hot all the way through. If you are taking kids do not leave them in the shower alone or they will be scalded. Hairdryers are okay but the chord isn’t long enough.there’s coffee and paper cups in the room with a kettle. No iron. The cleaners came everyday. Some days were properly cleaned others just bed made. I’m not sure the sheets were changed either. But always clean towels. We upgraded to a superior room and I wouldn’t like to see a standard if ours was superior. Pool areas are clean and entertainment team were great for the kids around the main pool, but people do reserve sunbeds which says strictly forbidden but it’s not monitored so people were leaving towels out Nearly all day and not returning until late afternoon. The lifeguard was letting some people jump into the pool (including staff) but telling some guests off which wasn’t understandable. Food was okay standard All inclusive but with little choice. If your fussy or have kids I think you’d struggle. You were only allowed a bottle of water at lunch and dinner otherwise you were told to go buy them. I’ve never been to a hotel where water isn’t provided at all times. You could get glasses but they were thimble sized Drinks were good. They were strict with some people about wearing bikini tops in the dining hall but then they were letting others in with just a towel round them. It’s very easy to navigate round but it’s very sloped. They do have A little bus that takes you around the grounds for this tho. There are some broken loose and raised up floor tiles so be careful of them. The hotel grounds are well kept and lovely looking. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel (opposite side of the road) that takes you to hersonnisos and Heraklion for a couple of euros which we did most nights. One night when we’d just got in and into bed a cleaner let herself into our room on seeing us she looked shocked and then claimed to be looking for a “small bed” and quickly hurried out of there.. we mentioned it to reception we’re a manager met with us. He was shocked and very apologetic but insisted he’d asked her to go check the room was clean for guests and she got the room number wrong. While he did his best to make us feel better I don’t believe this was the reason she was in there. It was very unsettling and we couldn’t relax after that. We were constantly going back to the room to check everything and was nervous about leaving at night. All in all this hotel was below what we what expected it could be and I wouldn’t retu
