The rooms are small and warmly decorated, making it a rather sophisticated British-style family hotel. The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic. She introduced the origin of the hotel and showed her around the restaurant. Although the facilities were relatively old-school, with keys to lock the doors and no central control of the lights, they were just right. The location is very good. We haven't even arrived in Inverness yet. We are on the lakeside and the restaurant can see the lake outside. Reservations are accepted for dinner, and there is also pre-dinner drink time. It is a typical British dinner, the chef is also very good, and the breakfast is also good. Although the price is on the high side, it's worth it.

Researched places to stay for a short stay near Fort William. This little place came up, it was a little expensive but I wanted a hotel feel instead of a B&B. Located near Spean Bridge on the road to Loch Ness. The lady who greeted us was passionate about her hotel, we presumed her to be the owner and she works with her Son. The evening meal was delicious but it is a set menu. At £54.50 it was expensive. The accommodation is chintzy and of course popular with the travelling Americans. It was full so obviously doing something right. The views are wonderful and the gardens colourful but to say that it’s located on a loch is not entirely true. You have to cross a busy road and the dock that is shown on the web page is not as shown. Tea coffee in the room. No bottled water. Small compact room but perfect for a short stay. Cozy log fire in one of the lounge, bar area and the restaurant looks over the garden. Overall it was a good stop. Breakfasts are substantial and the service was good. To me it needs updating as there are a few little things that need attention for the cost. Overall good stay.

Beautiful location on Loch Lochy. We stayed in the Waterfall room, which has either a king size bed or 2 twin beds and a window in the back the overlooks the waterfall. It was wonderful to sleep with the window open and hear the sound and get some nice fresh air. The beds were comfortable and the room was also very quiet. The only slight negative was the assigned breakfast seats. Apparently, if you dine there for dinner (which we did not) you are then reserved the same table for breakfast. We wanted to sit by the window at breakfast to enjoy the amazing view but were told we had to sit at a table on the other side of the room as that was reserved (even though no one sat in the table the entire time we were eating). It wasn't that big of a deal but just something to be aware of. Otherwise, the hosts were very pleasant and accommodating.

Booked for five days in September with the intention of using the hotel as a base. Turned out to be a great choice as the hotel was within driving distance of all we'd hoped to see. The hotel was very comfortable, quite quaint and the food was excellent, served with care and attention to detail. Iain was a font of knowledge, anxious to share this with guests. Never did complete the itinerary he laid out but saw places and views we never would have found without him. If you want to party the night away then this hotel probably won't suit but if you want a place with character, good food ambience and considerate staff then this hotel is definitely worth considering. This was our favorite stay in Scotland. From the moment we walked through the front door, we knew this was a special place, not to mention the "magical" gin and tonic! The service, stay and food were exceptional. We will recommend this place to everyone.

Small private hotel, with beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms. All food sourced locally. Breakfast ordered the night before and cooked to order- best hotel scrambled egg I’ve ever had. Evening menu offered at breakfast so you could decide whether to eat in. Hats off to Ian, the chef, who somehow psychically knew all my favourite foods , and made adjustments for my lactose intolerance and made sticky toffee pudding for myself and my husband one night as alternative dessert. Don’t be put off by the outside of the hotel and gardens which look a little tired - just get in there, and enjoy the food and wine and service!

We stayed at the Corriegour Lodge Hotel for 2 nights between the 9th - 11th of September. The Lodge is a wonderful old converted Hunting Lodge by Loch Lochy, which is between Loch Ness and Spean Bridge. The Lodge is around halfway down the Loch and is isolated from most local amenities, that may be a good thing for some people or it may be a bad thing, you will certainly have to drive for a good 15 - 20 minutes to get to the nearest town (Spean Bridge), but I'm assuming most people staying at the lodge will have transport so shouldn't be a problem. The owners are very nice people who do their upmost to ensure that your stay is the best it can be. Also to note that the Lodge does have its own private beach which you can use (we never did, but you can), however, the Lodge sits the other side of the A82 from the Loch, meaning, in order to use the beach you have to cross the relatively busy road. When looking at the pictures of the Lodge on Trip Advisor you could be easily mistaken for thinking that the Lodge sits right on the edge of the Loch, but that's not the case, something to bear in mind. The grounds of the Lodge itself are very nice with ample parking, complete with its own waterfall in the back garden. The room we had was Room 4 which had a nice view of Loch Lochy (see pictures), the room itself was a decent size, had its own small bathroom with toilet, sink and shower and was very clean. The bed was large and comfortable. We were aware of the prices of the restaurant for the evening meal and so decided not to eat at the lodge for our evening meal, instead choosing to eat at some other local restaurants which were very good. However, we did have breakfast every morning (as it was included in the price). You have to make your breakfast selection the night before which wasn't an issue for us, but for some people it may feel a bit limiting. The breakfast itself was very nice, every morning I had the full breakfast, Bacon, Egg, Lorne Sausage (which is like a square sausage, quite nice). The only thing I felt was that the breakfast was a bit dry, due to the lack of serving something like Baked Beans with the full breakfast, but, to be fair your getting a full Scottish Breakfast not an English one. The views out of the restaurant are stunning, looking out over Loch Lochy and the Great Glen. There are 2 rooms downstairs which are for exclusive use by the hotel guests, these are a wonderful sitting room with a log fire and a small whiskey bar which sells a variety of bottled beers, ciders and of course whiskeys. It's a nice place to have a drink, but just be aware that the prices are not cheap. The lodge itself is decorated in a very rustic old style which we actually really liked and think it makes the Lodge seem very warm and cosy, almost like stepping back in time, which is a good thing. This may not be to everyone's taste, if you are the sort of traveler who likes new and modern then this place is not for you. I personally enjoyed my

We had to cancel our accommodations and find new ones due to their restaurant closing. We were able to book Corriegour Lodge, thankfully. This was one of the most cozy Lodges we stayed in. Crisp bedding, bathrooms updated and all the decor was just warm and wonderful. The sitting room sofas just let you sink down into them and it was like a warm hug after driving in the rain for a couple hours. Beautiful views of the Loch. Dinner and breakfast menus were wonderful and both meals were outstanding. I’d stay here again!!!

An interesting Victorian building, decorated in keeping with the period. The location is nice but there is a road between the hotel and the loch so its not as tranquil as it appears. The food is of a very high standard but dinner was £54 each plus drinks. There were 3 choices of main course, and no choice of dessert followed by a cheese course. Everyone sits down to eat at 7.30pm. This not made clear on the website. I suppose that is what "one sitting for dinner" means but I didn't realise that when I booked. Breakfast is also of high quality but you have to pre - order the night before. Our room was decorated in Victorian style but with 2 skylights and a smallish window it felt a bit gloomy and at night it was difficult to close the blinds on the skylights. The website needs to be clearer about the arrangements for dinner and maybe the images and descriptions of the rooms need to be updated.
