The Brooks Motel

I used to stay in it when it was the holiday house which was a purely 50s motel. it’s been bought and refurbished and renamed the brooks. The rooms are still not very big but the beds are comfortable and I don’t spend a lot of time at the hotel when I’m in Hillsdale. there was a coffee maker that made delicious coffee and there is room for my small dog and his crate. The water pressure was good too, so I would say this place handles the basics well and is very centrally located especially for me. The other thing I would add is that there is no on-site staff so I handled everything via text, but whoever was answering the text was incredibly responsive and helpful. Just something to know I would recommend the brooks.

Not only nobody at all on site ever, but very few guests, so pretty creepy feel. Very dark room. Windows are filthy. Bag of Garbage outside our door since yesterday. Fan in bathroom is broken. No conditioner in the dispenser. Plug missing from drain. No light at all in the kitchen/living area. Can't use freezer due to frost buildup. Cold - bedroom and bathroom pure concrete floors and no extra blankets. Thermostat won't go above 65. And the worst was the baseboard heater going click click click all night long. Tried even turning the heat off or down so that it wouldn't be doing anything. Nothing worked. It kept me up all night. This place is a freakin’ disaster. You put a few cute pillows or throw rugs around to look on trend but it's just a little lipstick on a pig. Sorry.

There is nobody on-site for assistance. The remodeled rooms are like putting lipstick on a pig. Cold concrete floors, exposed partical board for headboard and furniture. Had to ask for wash clothes. Definitely not worth the money for a 2 night stay.

The motel is at a hreat location...only 2min away from Catamount mountain. The room was clean and pretty basic but thats what we needed. Only downside was the walls are very thin so if you have loud guests with kids u will hear everything. Check-in was seamless with no issues.

There was no hot water available for the entirety of our stay. The best thing they could do was attempt to change our room, but there was no hot water available in any alternative rooms as well. Following a long day of being out in the cold, it was very disappointing to be paying for a room that did not have hot water available. Will not be booking at this property again and will discourage friends from doing so as well.

The room is clean, exactly how you see it in the picture. Staff is very responsive, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider staying there again.

Well it was a motel, so it was mainly a bed, TV, and a bathroom. Owner is remote so there is no staff, you are given a code to enter the room. Very basic, plastic chair to sit in to watch TV, concrete floors. It was a slow time of the year I stayed but I was the only one there so when I checked in and before I went to dinner, I was a bit freaked out that I was in this motel (around 20 units) entirely by myself, not staff or any other guests. When I did return from dinner around 9pm there was one other car there so I felt better. Again it is was ok, just a motel

Room tidy small limited towels floors hard cem. thus slippers I guess which are tacky , get real floors there for comfort .
