Reviews of Scp Hilo Hotel

Stayed for two nights in Hilo during our self-driving trip around the Big Island with my daughter. The hotel has charming scenery, and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic and helpful. There's also free parking available in the adjacent lot. Overall, the room was good. Definitely recommend it.

The hotel has nice common areas and the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are quite small, outdated, and not very clean. Soundproofing is poor: I could hear noise from neighboring rooms and airplanes starting early in the morning. Given the price, I expected better comfort and quality. Overall, it feels overpriced for what it offers.

I recently stayed at SCP Hilo and, overall, I found the experience to be underwhelming. While the service was decent, there were several drawbacks that made the stay less than ideal. The hotel is located very close to the airport, so noise from early-morning flights was constant and began as early as 4AM. On top of that, many guests were leaving for early flights, which meant lots of door-slamming and hallway noise at all hours. The room itself was quite small and dated, with no real view—just a window that looked into the interior courtyard. Unfortunately, this compromised both privacy and quiet, as anyone walking by could see directly into the room. One major downside was the additional daily "amenities fee," which felt excessive considering the limited offerings. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful or private stay.

The hotel itself is better than expected; You can tell that they went through a massive renovation in order to give a chill vibes based stay (on the outside). Inside of the room, it’s definitely an old hotel… I liked the furniture, but the windows were too open for my liking (you get the feeling that anyone can look into your room); Not as much of an issue since we used the curtains! The bath towels were covered in hair (ranging from long strands to tiny ***** pieces) which I found to be disgusting. The staff were more than willing to switch out the towels (there was still hair on them but a little dusting off mainly did the job). There was tiny ***** hair pieces in the bathtub as well, but I washed them down the drain so no biggie. The main issue that I had with this stay was that you could hear everything that was going on in rooms next door or outside. We heard loud screaming and fighting into the early ams, and it took a while for them to stop. This is not the hotel’s fault, but if you do stay here, keep in mind that the rooms aren’t very spacious, you can hear everything, and there might be hair in your towels. Overall, I really loved staying here and found it to be quite charming. The view in front of the hotel is INSANE. Though I listed negative traits about this hotel, I feel that it’s important to give some transparency to readers of this review. Mostly everyone goes into a hotel thinking that it’s 1000% clean and perfect. However, for me, the negative reviews are what I look for so that I know what to expect. You will definitely love the vibes and views this hotel has to offer, as well as the friendliness of the staff who worlds here.

Charged an Amenity Fee which was never disclosed during booking process. Will. Not support Trip in thr future as wife felt taken advantage of us.

The hotel is in a very good location, very close to the airport and surrounded by parks.

The room is very poorly soundproofed and there is no elevator on the second floor

The room is very clean and the staff has very good service attitude. There is a swimming pool, gym, laundry room and performances on the first floor. There are free coffee, tea bags and water dispenser in the lobby.

Everything is fine, but the sound insulation is poor, I can't sleep all night, the air conditioner is still very noisy from the windows

The service at the front desk is awesome. I owe her eight million.

房間整體佈局合理，空間不算太大但好在該有的都有，設施還算比較新，附近有個公園可以看見海龜，酒店服務挺好提供免費的飲用水在大堂、大堂有一些遊戲、書本可以免費使用。還有電視一直觀察火山的實時情況！

位置很好，可以沉浸式聽到飛機起落，有自己的停車場，直通房間。房間設施老舊，床有塌陷，空調是窗式空調，洗澡是站在浴缸裏洗的，蓮蓬頭無法拿下來，有種90年代穿越感……
