I was really very satisfied. The owner of the ryokan, Okami-san, is Korean, so he was very kind to Koreans, and the facilities were very luxurious, but I was satisfied with the traditional Japanese ryokan feel. The food was the best, needless to say, and the hot springs were not very big, but the water was good, so I went in several times. This seems to be the number one reason why I want to go back to Hitoyoshi.
We stayed at the Hitoyoshi Ryokan for 2 nights. It was absolutely wonderful! I am so happy we stayed there! We all really enjoyed it. We appreciate their attention to detail and thoughtfulness. The ryokan and the rooms were beautiful. We loved the history there too. We enjoyed the traditional meals and the onsen. The staff were so kind! All of it was amazing!

A good old inn! The hot spring is great, the food is great, and the prices are reasonable! The national treasure Aoi Aso Shrine is just around the corner, and I was impressed by how hard the staff and the landlady worked to provide service. I hope they can maintain this quality of service. If I have another chance to go to Hitoyoshi, I'd like to use it again.

I visited at the end of the year. It was raining, so they came to greet me at my car with an umbrella. I am grateful. I was worried after seeing the news about the damage caused by the heavy rain, but I was surprised to see that it had been completely renovated. It was nice to see that the old materials were still being used in some places. It was presumptuous of me to be worried. The hot spring was as comfortable as its reputation. There was a bench in the bathtub, so you could sit in a comfortable position. However, the ventilation was poor, so if you stay there for too long you will feel dizzy. The food was also delicious, using local ingredients. A Nepalese international student works part-time as a waiter. It was not very comfortable, as a veteran teacher was checking on us. I wanted to eat a little more casually. However, I like the landlady's heart in accepting international students. Although she speaks broken Japanese, she does her best. The receptionist and the waiter were unfriendly on the phone, but that doesn't mean they have to be the ones to provide hospitality. I feel like I received a lot of positive energy. There is a smoking area in the building. I am glad that Aoi Aso Shrine has also been restored.
