The Reverie Saigon Residential Suites

We weren’t sure that we would like this hotel. It had a certain style which is quite different from our own personal inclinations. But we ended up loving it. And this was a combination of what we believe is the gold standard for world-class hospitality: An outstanding hard product with an exceptional soft product. HCMC is an interesting market for hotels. Having stayed at a number of hotels in HCMC, in my view, there are two properties which stand right at the pinnacle. The Reverie is one of the two, and probably just edges the other property to be the best in HCMC. This is why (and this was me coming from a stay at the other property). The Hotel We decided to book one of the apartments, rather than the hotel itself. The apartment prices itself above the entry level rooms at the hotel, but at a discount to the suites. We were intending to spend a fair bit of time in the property so the apartment made complete sense for us, but I don’t know if it is for everyone. The apartment shares an entrance with the hotel, so you will still be welcomed at the opulent lobby that the Reverie hides away from the main road. One step into that lobby and it will be clear to you that this property was built with a passion. You will then be escorted to a separate lobby for the check-in for the apartments. This was a bit more muted than the hotel itself, but still is appropriately luxurious. Check in was handled expeditiously, and we were then escorted up into our apartment. The Apartment Our apartment measured at slightly above 1000 square feet. It came with a living room, dining area, separate kitchen, a small study, a separate WC and a large bedroom with a huge connecting master bathroom. If all housebuilders built apartments like this, no one will have an issue. Everything was thoughtfully laid out, with an emphasis on luxurious touches. They provided a complimentary mini bar for our stay, with a generous supply of bottled water. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and cutlery that enabled us to partake in plenty of delivered food offerings, which is an underrated luxury in a city of delicacies. We noted in particular that the apartment was filled with top-notch quality products and amenities, from the cutlery to the washing machine. This was not fitted out on the cheap – and it made us as guests feel very pampered. Service For me, good service makes or breaks a property. In Vietnam, it’s very hard to maintain consistently great levels of service – but somehow the Reverie makes it work. The staff went out of their way to help us with all our requests – from food orders to Covid-19 testing. I wanted to specifically share my appreciation of the concierge team who sourced for a medical service provider who would come to our apartment for the pre-departure test. This was after they, out of their own initiative and research, realised that the original clinic would be closed when we needed to take the test. This to me

Huong Sen Hotel

Beware. This hotel has No lift, only Staicase to the Breakfast buffet rooftop Restaurant on the 7th floor and to Roof top Pool and Spa above it on the 8th floor. The hotel lift only goes up to the 6th floor! For those who cannot climb stairs like me, it was a rude shock ! So please keep in mind. I would have never booked this hotel had I known! The pool and Spa are well maintained and also have a Jacuzzi hot tub , a Steam Room and Sauna. The Pool is very tiny and like a jacuzzi size! The rooms are a bit dated and stuffy. The AC looks old and the cooling is not too good. Other than that the rooms are big, spacious and have a mini bar and kettle for tea coffee. We got a large room with a dbl bed and 2 single beds, no balcony, so it was nice and big. The regular deluxe dbl room, no balcony is a bit on the small side. Room w no balcony is quiet as its not on the street. The bathroom is very good and big. But the tub is very high and hard for someone with mobility issues and arthritis. So I would well avoid this hotel at all costs. Its just Not suitable for those with mobility issues and accesibility needs. Its very centrally located, next to Hguyen hue walking street, near all landmarks. Sheraton and Hilton and all big hotels very close. Its in District 1 so perfect location as many major attractions are a stones throw. Or easily 10 min walkable. Buffet breakfast is very good, staff is cheerful and efficient, its clean ( albeit stuffy , dated rooms) , with big baths and makes for a good city hotel with an open terrace breakfast buffet, Full service Spa, roof top pool, hot tub , steam and Sauna! If you are going to not spend much time in the room and are okay with dated rooms, its a good deal mainly for the location and above amenities !

It is difficult to imagine this hotel was once three star quality. Frankly, it’s hard to believe this hotel could legitimately earn one star. The promotional photographs provided on various booking websites and the property’s website are simply not accurate. According to the hotel, they are for “illustration purposes” and are not actual hotel rooms in this hotel. I paid for an upgraded superior deluxe room and the pictures speak for themselves. My room was neither superior, nor deluxe. Dingy, old, rundown, Blank walls, thin, worn mattress, moldy bathroom fixtures, worn out carpet, non-functional light switches, and I could go on. From a practical standpoint, there are no power outlets near the bed - I had to charge my phone in the bathroom where one of the two power outlets was broken. This hotel’s best days are behind it. Many rooms here have no windows, which is why I upgraded to a Superior Deluxe, which has a window but only in the technical sense. Mine has a window that looks out into darkness. See the picture below taken at mid-day. No light whatsoever. Just a physical window. The room obviously used to be a smoking room. Smoking is no longer permitted but my room as well as the corridor do have the odor of stale cigarette smoke. The cigarette burns on the furniture remain evident. My advice is to choose a bite that has a well-established reputation. There are many with comparable prices. I hope my review can save at least one traveler from the great disappointment that would otherwise await them at Bong Sen.

Hato Saigon Hotel & Rooftop

Ho Chi Minh City Centre Ho Chi Minh City|0.21km from Nguyen Hue Street
Opened 1 Jan 2024, this boutique hotel is brand new with ). decor and wood trimmings. Our triple sharing room is a tad small but enough to open two 28 inch luggages. The firm bed, fluffy pillows and linen, plush towels provided a very comfortable stay. The staff are young, very friendly and helpful though their command of English is weak. Ms Dewlyn Vu speaks the best English amongst the staff and provided excellent service, helping to book water puppet show tickets with good seats and Mekong Delta day trip. The owner and Ms Trang are on site everyday with improvement works being done everyday of our 1 week stay. Ms Trang speaks very good English and is very personable and receptive to feedback and has aspirations to provide 5 star service at Hato. Location is excellent, just 2 parallel streets from The Cafe Apartments and Nguyen Hue walking street. Michelin Anan restaurant is on the same stretch. Rice Field restaurant, Saigon Skydeck and the best rate money changer is 1 parallel street away on Ho Tung Mau. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and combinis within 5 to 10 mins walking distance. Note the hotel is fronted by street /wet markets on both sides of the lane. While taxis & rìde hailing Grab can stop in front of hotel, they cannot wait as will be obstructibg traffic. Else alight at the corner of the beginning of the street which is just 2 mins walk away. Breakfast is served on 9th floor aka rooftop which needs to climb 1 floor of steps as lift stops on 8th floor. Breakfast is largely continental plus a Vietnamese noodle. Have given suggestions to improve breakfast variety for guests who are staying for more nights as well as to serve better coffee (Viet coffee is very good which unfortunately is not reflected at their breakfast). Tip : Suggest to book family room (2 double beds & accommodates 4 pax and room is double the size) if one is travelling in a party of 3 or 4 pax . Book early as there are only 2 family rooms.

The hotel is in District 1 and the location is super good. Boutiques and currency exchangers are just around the corner (walk for two minutes). It takes 15 minutes to walk to Bincheng Market (Ben Thanh Market), or spend 10,000 VND (0.6 US dollars) by car. When booking, we asked for a signed suite and a quiet room. One of my family was lucky to upgrade the room to a family suite, so big that you can't believe it. The room on the 3rd floor was not too noisy. There was a smell of smoke in the room (we want a non-smoking room), and the air conditioner didn't taste that big when it was turned on. The bathroom was nice, a bit small, but beautifully furnished. Breakfast is delicious. But if you only eat Jewish food or halal food, pay attention to pork.

This place blew me away. Like all of the other reviews, the pictures simply don’t do it justice. From the pick up at the airport to the drop off, the service here was at another level and I would rate it y stars on a scale of 2 tom5. The breakfast was mid bending.. the club fir drinks and snacks was like a frozen oasis out of the heat and hustle of Saigon. I can’t say enough about our visit. I have stayed at 100s of LHW hotels and this one ranks in the top five of anywhere in the worl. We had a gran suite thst was the size of a ballroom, amazing bathroom and seating area, great location, we will be back. Thank you very much for a great visit.

Love this small hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. The reception staff have excellent English and are always friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is a typical narrow Vietnamese building with many levels. Rooms are available in three categories, the most expensive ones having a balcony which overlooks the busy and interesting street below. The street itself has many bars, restaurants and shops with many other shopping & entertainment options close by. There is an Aussie pub opposite where you can get western meals, drinks and watch live sports. The river, markets, Nguyen Hue and a range of other attractions are all within easy reach of this hotel. You can even rent a motor scooter if you’re feeling adventurous and explore HCMC at your own pace. Looking forward to my next visit.

NOT the best hotel if you need space and comfort, but it makes up with its Super location, cannot get better. % to 10 mins walk from what ever you need to see/ Go/ whatever. Breakfast is average, nothing that you'd go back for. Pateience is what you need, especially when communicating, but that again, applies mostly all over Vietnam. GET your milk, if you need it, its not available in the room.

The location of the hotel is good, close to many cafes (as well as halal restaurants), coffee shops, spas, ATMs, shopping malls, clothing stores, currency exchange offices and the river bank (Saigon River). The room was just as advertised and we even got an upgrade the next night. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel can book Saigon tours at a reasonable price and the tour agents are very reliable. It's easy to get a taxi here, and it can take you around the city at any time, or to the famous tourist attractions in Saigon. For me this hotel is great! Very recommended.
