Best Hotels in Hollandsche Rading

I booked this hotel through Hotels.com using my tesco reward points. So I only had to pay taxes. I stayed from Wed-Mon in the middle of July. I was sent the long way around to this hotel by google maps but when I said to the receptionist that I wouldn’t be able to walk that way at night she corrected me and it was only a short climb up the steps to the train station. I arrived at 11am and was just expecting to use the toilet and leave my luggage. But Estella said my room was ready and so I went straight up to the 9 floor. My room was right over the train lines but with the windows shut you did not hear them. A huge bed, lovely shower and a fridge. The bed was very comfortable. I needed to get to De Meern to see friends and Estella pointed me in the right direction for a lovely walk which took 60 minutes in the lovely countryside. Breakfast was great and and even though the hotel was full there were no queues for breakfast. Throughout my stay all staff were kind and polite. My only negatives and they are so small was when I asked for more regular coffee reception didn’t have again and the cup holder on the ice machine was nearly always empty. Overall I have had a excellent stay and I will be back.

The room we were given was one for people with a disability, which meant it was very spacious. The decor was nice, the beds comfortable, although a little soft. The bathroom was also spacious and had everything a disabled person would need. It didn't bother us we were staying in this room. We didn't have breakfast but had a coffee which was good. Because this room is on the ground floor just behind reception and next to the breakfast room we did experience noise. There is a 24-hour coffee and tea making facility in the breakfast room which is great. However, when we were staying, there were people in there even in the middle of the night, as we could hear the chairs being used (scraping sound which was very audible in our room). That got worse when breakfast service really started in the morning. It made sleeping a little challenging. We would stay here again, but would definitely ask for a room on a higher floor and further away from the breakfast room. Check in and out was quick and easy and staff were friendly.

Great location. Close to lots of shops and easy access to the bus services. Off a busy street but room was quiet. Nice sized room with all the basic things you will need. I didn't have the breakfast but it is available for purchase separately and looked quite nice. Overall a lovely stay and would consider it again in the future.

The location is close to Utrecht Central station where are lot of bars and restaurants, as well as a big shopping mall nearby. Staff are friendly and helpful, but the locker may not fit a big luggage and you may need to rent one. The bed is comfortable and clean. Note: even you paid hotel fee on trip.com, you still need to pay tax for the hotel

The hotel is located in the park, the environment is very beautiful, the room is spacious, there are wild geese, swans, ducks and other wild animals on the lake. The facilities and service quality are high. It is the only hotel that is surprisingly pleasant for this business trip. It is indeed 4 stars standard. It is also very convenient.

I had a terrible experience in this hotel at the end of August. Someone(s) broke into my room for 2 consecutive days with my door confirmed locked. The hotel didn't treat me seriously, they couldn't provide any convincing explanation or compensation. I went there for a business trip and had booked this hotel for 10 nights. The break in incident happened in the early morning 5:30am after my first sleep. I heard someone tried to open my door, but because I had locked it, so the intruder shaked the handle a few times, and eventually it did open!!! I went down and reported to the reception directly and asked if there was any CCTV. The staff said she didn't know...had to wait for her colleague to come back to answer me in the evening....by then i was told that there was no CCTV in this hotel...and they admitted it was one of their staff who broke into my room!!! I requested an explanation, the front desk only said it would not happen again. I requested to meet the duty manager, she said the manager would talk to me tomorrow....this is how they treated this security issue and code of conduct ”seriously”. Totally unacceptable. I could only go back to my room for the 2nd night. But then at 7:15am in the next morning, there was someone broke into my room again!! With a loud door closing sound, which i even more confirmed then the first time. The intruder went out as well before showing his/her face. It was unbelievable!!! I reported to the front desk again but they seemed not believe in me. Said it was not their staff this time and it was impossible to unlock the door with other cards. Long story short, it took me a whole day again in order to talk to the duty manager. And i personally showed her how to unlock my door using her card. She was finally speechless and arranged a new room for me. She said would investigate But I still could not receive a solid explanation in the next day and really felt unsafe. I was not able to sleep well and was super alert to different sounds. The next day the GM finally met me, but then still no compensation or with any gesture of apology. Didn't feel i was treated seriously so I decided to change the hotel for personal safety. They still charged me the fee for the 3 days. This was my worst hotel experience ever. We stayed at the Karol V for 4 nights and we were very impressed with the location, staff and general quality of the hotel. It was easy to find and parking is available. Our room was in the new Roman wing and was light, airy, quiet and very comfortable. We had drinks in the beautiful gardens and dinner in the Bistro, both delightful. The location is perfect for exploring the old town on foot and we didn’t need the car at all. We visited Amsterdam for the day by train which was interesting but very busy. We were glad to return to the tranquility of the Karol V and Utrecht.

We arrived late after transportation delays to inexperienced front desk staff. They did not have our prepayment details. Proof was provided and I was told the proof I provided could be a fake and to stay we would have to pay. Reluctantly I paid for the stay because it was late and another hotel was not an option. I revisited the double charge in the morning and again the morning front desk staff was inexperienced and explained there would not be a manager on site to speak to until the next week. I emailed the manager and received a demon failure. I have contacted the vendor we used to book the hotel, get a room, and are still waiting for a resolution. The first phone call said we needed to provide 48 business hours and the second call says we need to provide 3-5 business days. The hotel itself was loud with guests in comparison to our other 5 hotels during our vacation and we were awakened at 5am. I am not pleased at all with the hotel, the booking agent, or the physical hotel. Not recommended.

We stayed at this nice hotel when walking “long distance routes” at Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Excellent rooms. They advertise a lot about there renovated brasserie but that’s closed on weekdays. I couldn’t find the bar or the regular restaurant on their website, so only after calling them it became clear they actually do have a restaurant. Easy to change i think. Restaurant had a nice buffet. Coffee, tea is free during the day in a cosy lounge. Very nice place to stay.

The single room in the basement is honest. The air is not very good. It is recommended to ask if the room is underground or upstairs before you check in. The equipment in the room is very complete, there is a hot water bottle, and the capsule coffee machine is great! The location of the hotel is also very good, very close to the central station, behind the canal, particularly lively along the street.
