It was a nice cozy hotel. Free welcome cocktail for each guest was nice surprise. Right by the ocean if you stay in the ocean view room. The balconies don’t have dividers between rooms on the first floor.

If you decide to stay here for the stylish rooms and nice location, be sure to check your bed before you get in it and be aware that no one will help you if you have any issues arise after 10pm during your stay. My family checked into a two bedroom suite on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. We had stayed here a few years earlier and had been looking forward to a nice weekend at the beach. However, that night while getting ready for bed, bed bugs were discovered in the second bedroom, in both beds. The hotel is not staffed overnight, and calls and texts to their after hours emergency number were not returned. Since there was no one available to move us to another room or assist at all, we packed up and left. The following day by noon, hotel staff still had not returned my calls. I was finally able to reach someone via text, and was informed that their phone doesn’t work. The paper I was given at check in and the sign on the door both say to call or text the phone number that they know doesn't work. I asked for a manager to call me, but was told there wasn’t one working that day (holiday weekend at a beach resort) and no one who was working had authority to address my situation. I pushed for management to contact me, and finally received a snarky text from the manager. He said" Does your boss expect you to work 7 days a week!" Keep in mind that they were charging $1000 a night for them to be inconvenienced! Not one apology. After some back and forth over the next few days via text only, I was issued a refund for only two of the three nights I paid for, even though we did not stay a full night at all because of the bed bugs. After going back and forth for days waiting for the front desk to get approval from their owner for a full refund, they have still not given me my money back. They claim to have had two pest control companies inspect the room we stayed in the morning we left, but the report from the first company is very questionable, (the pest control company separately confirmed the pictures we took were bed bugs) and they would not show proof of a report from the second company. Whether the infestation came from another room or from their laundry service, I don’t know, I just know the bugs were there and that this hotel did not handle the situation well at all. It has been almost 2 weeks. No follow-up from the manager, the owners, or information on a full refund. Definitely no apology for the experience or inconvenience. In addition, the loss of a repeat customer. We had no choice but to challenge the charge on our credit card. The last thing anyone wants to do is leave a bad review, but beware if you plan to stay here.

This was a beautiful place to stay, apart from all the steps we had to climb up to get to our rooms, they really could do with an elevator to the upper floors for dissabled people who still want the upper floors for the amazing views The bar area was extremely expensive, with a yoghurt being $8 and a wrap being almost $20, I would not recomend eating or drinking there at those prices The pool was lovely and the staff very helpful especially a young man at reception called Mason who went out of his way to help us in any way needed. This young man deserves a pay rise, and if you are fortunate enough to meet him , you will see what I mean, excellent customer service from him The place is expensive but if you want a bit of luxury, then this is the place for you

The hotel is very well located, in front of the beach. You need to be lucky to get a front of the beach room. It was not our case. The room was not cleaned properly. They did not clean our room in one day, what considering it is a close to the beach room, is a very big problem. In the day after this incident, I informed the front desk we are leaving the room around noon, so because we were without toilet paper, tissue and clean towels, (our room was not cleaned a day before) I imagined our room cleaning service would be prioritized, but it didn’t. I asked about it, and they messaged me that They typically come anytime from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. we came back from the beach later than planned, waiting for the room to be cleaned, and the room service were there… so we had to wait outside until they finished the job. The AC is absurdly loud, it is hard to sleep with such a big noise all night (and day!) The front desk is kind, but didn’t solve the problems properly. On July 8th, the hotel was almost empty and there was no towels available to be used on the beach. And to finish, I don’t understand why the place is called Resort, since is a small and with minimum resources available.

Regarding Bali Hai Resort Room #5 Upon opening the door to what was supposed to be a two-bedroom suite, we were shocked to find what seemed like a low-income efficiency rather than a suite. The room was outdated, with run-down furniture, dirty floors, and a bathroom that looked like it belonged in the 1980s. The overall cleanliness was subpar, with dirty doors, walls, and a very old dirty bathtub. The condition of the mattress in the master bedroom was so poor that it made sleeping impossible, especially considering we had an early morning flight the next day. Furthermore, the kitchen had a foul smell and was sticky and dirty. We had difficulty operating the television and had to call for assistance with the remote controls. Additionally, the lack of privacy was concerning, as non-guests used the pool, beach chairs directly in front of our room, played loud music, and even bathed their babies in the "resort "outdoor shower nearby staring straight into our space. The quality of the accommodations was so far below our expectations that we felt it was comparable to a budget motel rather than a reputable resort. Terrible experience!

The worst and dirtiest hotel I've ever been to in my entire life, dirty doors, walls, cabinets and switches, we even meet a roach! The A/C filter without changing for a long time, simply disgusting! the only good thing is the location,! But no doubt it's not worth the price

This resort was refurbished in the recent past and it is very cheaply done - we could actually hear the guests above us using the bathroom - all furnishings were cheap - best thing is location - similar to other properties on the island - cheaply done and expensive - free bikes are women’s bikes only so a tall male would struggle with them - Anna Maria island is a great place but this resort short changes it - won’t be going back

Love this place!!!!!!! My partner and I decided to take a quick trip after the holidays to unwind. Rooms are open and airy and thoughtfully decorated. Not fancy but pleasing to the eye and happy. Beautiful beach and I love the salt water pool, the temperature was perfect. Great staff, cleaners, front desk, bartenders, all super friendly. We are already planning on going again in April. We are from Oregon and felt very welcome at the resort and in town.

We had reservations but due to my mother’s rapidly declining health and being placed in Hospice comfort care I tried to reschedule our trip. The reservation representative was very helpful in trying to make this work. However, her boss denied the request due to the current reservation was less than two weeks away. Therefore, we had to cancel. Very disappointed that no consideration or assistance was given due to the situation. I wasn’t asking for a refund. Evidently our moral standards are not in alignment with company policy…time frame is most important…..and money ,considering they are the only ones who come out ahead of a possible double booking. Will look at other places to stay when we are able to take our trip.

Not really an upscale resort. If you are looking for an all-inclusive trip with a party vibe, with staff waiting on you non-stop, this is not the place for you! This is a quiet place great for couples, families, and those wanting to relax and simply enjoy. We stayed in a beach front unrennovated room. While updates to the kitchen and bath are needed, it was clean, and everything was beautiful. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The beach is beautiful. Let's face it, that is really why we are here! The property is also maintained well. We would stay here again for sure.

Overall we had a great stay, mostly because of the location and beach property. Be warned that the beach front suites have not been renovated, nor are they maintained. If you’re fine with $700/night for 1950s cabinets and floors, go for it. Furnishings were new and nice. The word ‘Resort’ is used loosely on AMI.

Pros: Excellent beach location, easy parking, staff friendly, free beach chairs and umbrellas, some rooms newly nicely renovated. Make sure you know which ones before booking. Be aware, the housekeeping was terrible. My husband and I are tidy people whether at home or vacationing. The hotel’s information book in our room had great details on f the housekeeping standards that would occur each day. I can tell you they were not even remotely met. Housekeeping consisted of leaving fresh towels(sometimes hung up but usually left on the counter or toilet seat), and throwing the bed back together as quickly as possible. I think the floor was swept once during our 6 day stay. Never smelled fresh like any type of cleaning had been done. We’re rnot slobs and did our best to keep sand out but some always end up in the bathtub which never appeared to be cleaned. After day 1, I deliberately left a small piece of trash on the floor in our bedroom and the top of the toilet tank where they both remained all week. I mentioned it to the front desk, saying I’m thinking you’d like to know, who said they’d let management know, but I don’t think they cared. Sad because the beach and location are great but we won’t be staying here again.

I spent a week here with my two boys alone and after considering an AirBnB I couldn’t be happier that we choose Bali Hai. The pool, beach, room & bar were all within sight distance. The room was extremely clean and beautiful. I see other complaints about housekeeping on here but I found them to be nothing but wonderful and did an amazing job everyday, restocked, cleaned, mopped. The AC was fabulous too and I think worked better than mine back at home, ha! (I think some people forget that a tip for those that work so hard in service industry…it goes a long way! They will do one load of laundry (clean/fold) per week and I definitely loved that service!) I loved having the large fridge/freezer in room and espresso machine (they restock the pods so no need to buy any!) there’s also fresh coffee in the front office daily. I also want to give a shout out to the bartenders Kelly & Mike who made our trip even more unforgettable and made the best margaritas ever. The lounge is a great place to cool off, grab a snack & drinks and meet some friends. Everyone is so friendly and kind and the grounds were kept up. My boys loved running around the grass area and building Jenga. There are also cornhole boards. We never had a problem getting a chair by pool, beach or even cabana if we wanted and having the towels provided was extra nice. Everyone works so hard here and I want to especially note Jessie in maintenance/grounds. Sometimes I noticed him there sun up to sun down carrying chairs/umbrellas and cleaning ip. He was always friendly & had a smile on his face - he really needs a raise for how hard he works here. It didn’t go unnoticed by me! The trolley stop Southbound is right out front which made it easy to hop on for Holmes Beach, Bridge St, Alvin’s Island, Publix, etc! My *only* ‘complaint’ is I did notice some people from the public using the pool or just hanging out, not many at all, but aside from making us wear bracelets or something there’s no way to identify who’s staying on property. They also have guest passes for $100/day so could have been that. If you read many complaints on here just know some people aren’t happy with anything, but for us this was a perfect, convenient little piece of paradise to enjoy AMI!

The overall rooms that were renovated looked great. When we went out to the pool anyone can go in there because it was open to the public parking lot for the beach area. Not very secure and the people that were walking in were washing their feet and shoes in the pool. We brought it up to the bartender and he said they do it all the time. NASTY
