Courtyard By Marriott Properties in Hong Kong

The location is exactly as described, on the western side of Hong Kong Island. It's not super close to the MTR station; you'll need to walk a few minutes to Sai Ying Pun station. However, the tram stop is right outside the door, practically at your fingertips. If the weather is nice and you're not in a hurry, you can take the tram across the entire Hong Kong Island. There are also bus stops right outside, though I didn't look into which routes they serve. Hong Kong Island isn't big, so taking a taxi isn't expensive at all, just a few tens of dollars is usually enough. Being a Courtyard by Marriott property adds a definite plus for reliability. The sea view room is a bonus, and the spacious room is a huge plus. Even on the 20-something floor, you can still clearly hear some rumbling from the road, so the soundproofing of the windows isn't great. Overall, it's still good.

The lobby and public areas are grand, and the room was decent. However, from our 27th-floor room, we could see the messy rooftop of the building next door. For a hotel that's been open for over ten years, the room was well-maintained. There's a Wellcome supermarket downstairs and a McDonald's behind the hotel. The shuttle bus service was infrequent, but luckily it's less than a 5-minute walk to Shek Mun MTR station. Plus, there are many dining options near Shek Mun, which was convenient!
